I don't like to complain about forum posters, but I read the live feed thread from yesterday (I avoided it because I could see early on where it was headed!) and I was ASTONISHED that someone could post, with all seriousness, that Jade has been showing her true colors with all her nastiness towards Tahan lately. This in the same thread that has documented evidence of Tahan ripping on Jade for an hour while Jade commits the unpardonable sin of being "boring" by talking about travel. When people create a reality so far removed from actual evidence, you can't actually reason or argue with them.
I think when Jade gets out of the house, she's going to be shocked to discover all that has gone on behind her back. I also suspect that she will quickly realize that Ed is not the man for her. Because of this, I'm not as worried about she and Ed inside the house. In fact, I continue to think that she needs him there for the emotional comfort he offers her, especially since I think the house will continue to deteriorate in this miasma of nastiness.
I think that it's become pretty standard to blame Ed for all the problems in the house, to use terms like "brainwashing" Mikkayla, Jade and now Maddie, and to assume that if he is gone, all will be fine. However, from everything I've observed, the dividing of people and groups is Tim's forte as well as his main power play. It's interesting to note that both Justynnnnnnnne and Nathan came out of the house believing that Ed was a decent guy (not their opinion when entering the house) and Justynne in particular was shocked at how different Tim's highly edited game play was from the reality of his experience. We are seeing a limited version of events that are then given a further spin via OS write-ups and daily show voice-overs. Given the experiences of people who actually entered into the house recently, I have to assume there is a huge gap in reality in what we are being told we are seeing.
I have been saying for a while now that BB (and Tim) need for Ed to stay in the house to be Tim's designated foil. Just like BB needed to replay Jade's one comment against Tahan to continue the "Tahan is a victim of the mean girls" narrative, they need Ed in there for Tim to have to battle heroically. Without Ed, Tim's manipulations and distortions of reality will become more obviously mean, cruel, and unnecessary, and the battle will be lost. That's the reason BB let Ed have his "date" with Jade. Ed got enough attention that he garnered some extra votes to keep the conflict alive while simultaneously undermining Jade further to pump up Tahan's second narrative as the "truth teller". Tahan's role is to tell the audience the "truth" about Jade (she's pathetic, she's stupid, he's playing her, etc) while covering the fact that all this "truth" is just Tahan bitching about another female. After all, if the audience agrees with her (and editing dictates they must) then Tahan is just being "honest" about the situation.
I don't know what I want for Jade at this point. I think eviction might almost be a relief for her, especially if she loses Mikkayla this week and is left with only Madeline and Ed for support. I just hate that she'll come out of the house to almost as much negativity as she's experiencing within the house, and that BB himself will be at fault for that!
