Jade 2013 Appreciation thread

I have a soft spot for Jade, but I wanted to re-post what I wrote in another thread...because she needs to wake the ___ up!

Here's how I saw the whole JadEd affair play out...

 • Ed was never into Jade and made that clear after the first kiss...which was on a dare
 • Jade kept persisting and ed told the boys that he feels bad being more firm with her because they have to live together and she's not accepting his rejection gracefully (awkward)
 • Jade tells Ed that she "just wants to have fun" and he doesn't need to feel like it's anything more than that
 • Ed is worn down and, given statement above, starts kissing her more often (usually late night feast after many drinks)
 • Ed continues to sleep in his bed, and Jade keeps jumping into bed with him and kissing him while he ignores her by pretending to sleep (awkward AND if gender roles were reversed a guy could get into a lot of trouble for being so aggressive with a female and jumping into her bed when she is not interested)
 • Ed tries to vote Jade out because it's the only way he can get rid of her without looking like the jerk who keeps breaking her heart. Tim saves her (awkward)
 • Ed eventually realizes this girl is not going to give up and it might help his game so he starts sleeping in her bed .. He's clear he can't promise anything after show...
 • After their date, Jade tells Ed "I hope to keep you on the outside, sorry if you don't want to hear that." ...No Response from Ed
 • In today's episode..gold room..JadEd in bed...Jade wants Mikkayla to think Ed loves her by telling her Ed has a pet name for her (My Lady Jady), KNOWING that it was a Surly task and Ed is not allowed to reveal that. (SneakY)
 • Ed felt awkward because he sensed what she was up to and despite her attempts to kiss all over him, he remained frozen and unresponsive until she wore him down and he play fought with her. (Awkward)

While I think that Ed was in a very awkward position, he should have stuck to his guns and not engaged with her. I also think it's very interesting that in the beginning Jade had no interest in Drew, said he was not his type and even mocked him for having "stinky hair", YET today, when Drew asked her if Ed was her type, she said no, Drew was more her type.... WHAT is this girl on?? 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

EDIT: Today Jade/Madeleine in bathroom and Jade questions whether Tim's interest in boog is genuine or game play, but can't seem to grasp that Ed's just not that into her and it's all a game.

Point taken. That's a thorough assessment of him maintaining the divide. You're right he does use the right wording and ensures that he knows who will vote for certain hm's to keep him safe or at least have him up there with a weak link. Good observations Gemini

That's just the way I see him anyway. I'm probably way off :p I completely agree with what Drade 2013 said about the Tim/Drew/Tahan/Boog alliance not even existing. They're all out to get one another. Tim nominated Drew last week and kept pushing it through the week in the DR. Drew nominated Tahan, and I agree and think he actually really dislikes her following the Tully comment but is nice to her face (the playing both sides) and it all comes out in noms. It's obvious to me that Tim can't stand her. You can tell from his spat with BB in the kitchen the other day when he called her a bitch that he really meant it. He likes keeping her close though and he doesn't want to piss off her fans by nominating her (which he doesn't need to do because he knows Mikk and Jade will). I think he respects her as a player but that's it.

Anyway, if I may say so, your new av becomes you, gorgeous, elegant hairdo, ravishing frock and are those angel's wings at the back or have I at this early hour already retired into the world of dreams? 😵‍💫

Why thank you :) And no not angel wings, I think it's the lighting. It's the gorgeous Rita Hayworth. I'm a bit of an old film buff. The one thing I have in common with Drewseph heh.

There isn't an alliance with those guys at all. They just understand another I agree. I disagree that Tim can't stand tahan though, he confides In her about the emotional things more than anyone else these days. I genuinely think he does like her but does think she is a mean girl. He enjoys the banter with her and enjoys that he can get under her skin very easily but at the same time has a lot of fun with her. They have the rebellious side or trouble making side that they bind over and I think he appreciates this side to her because he gets bird quite easily.

Yes, I certainly agree with a lot of this. I still think deep down he really doesn't like her and it comes out when he's fired up (like the kitchen scene), but I do think he enjoys her company a lot of the time because he gets bored easily and they have trouble making in common. I personally love that side of Tahan (it's the constant nastiness and the recent BB favouritism that turns me off her a bit). She's an entertaining girl and it's why I usually vote for her. I find it hard to tell really when he confides in her. Part of me thinks it's a ploy to build up trust because he does the exact same thing with Jade. He could either like both of them or be playing them both...bit of each I'm assuming.

Oh, the delectable Rita. For me to claim being an old film buff would be dishonest because I know too little of that era and those wonderful films. But I do seek out the odd black and white delight on the ABC at night. There were so many extraordinarily beautiful and talented female thespians... yet for the last fifteen years Hollywood has been trying to convince me that Angelina Jolie is the world's most beautiful woman... nuff said.

Back to work :)

I think Tims actions are overly analysed tbh. I think because he can be a complex character everything he does is overly talked about and made to be like he has an agenda. I actually think he just does like both girls, but his end goal is to win so he will get rid of them when the time comes. Or so he thinks. He was pretty upset about Ben so him confiding to tahan, I don't believe to be fake at all. When he was crying jade and mikk were talking about alliances and him aligning himself with tahan. I imagine that is not what he wanted to do at this point and just wanted to talk and found that with tahan. He likes the girls for different things. I honestly believe that

Here's how I saw the whole JadEd affair play out...

 • Ed was never into Jade and made that clear after the first kiss...which was on a dare

 • Well, the first kiss in the house, which was also a dare, technically was Jade and Drew. And it wasn't "real" so to speak. Yeah, so the Ed + Jade Bday kiss was a "dare" but both voluntarily did it, not cause they had an obligation like Drade who were seen as married, Ed didn't "have to kiss her". But that's beside the point cause you didn't mention their first non-dare kiss, initiated by Ed when Jade was up for eviction for the first time! He came up to her to the bars of the halfway house and did it. Not drunk, no dare, no nothing to use as an excuse. Then when she was safe, he started retreating back after showing that initiative. That's what I hated at the beginning, where all the 'led her on' stuff came from. But LOL I soooo agree with you about Jade saying that Drew is actually her usual type. I was like, why run from it woman? As much as I wanted Jade to choose Drew, can't hold her choices against her. She's still my fave. Drew's not anymore cause he showed another side of himself. Having said that though, like so many in here, the Drade fantasy still lives on in my mind. Cutest pairing ever :) I'm happy whenever they show a new Drade clip in the LF's.

Yeah, I certainly agree with this. It's so hard to tell with him because one moment you think he's just having a nice moment with someone and you find out later that there was motive behind it. He's such a complex character. Best housemate not just this series, but any IMO. He somehow manages to do a lot of manipulating without being too nasty which really shows his intelligence in this game. Put it this way, I do genuinely think he likes Jade but I don't think he'd hesitate to try and get rid of her if it meant Ed lost his winning ticket...and yes, that was my lame attempt to get this thread back on topic after I've turned it into a "Tim Appreciation Thread" ;)

Haha! Ill help- to sum it up jade knows what she was doing when she was friending both ed and Tim. She didn't repeat stuff to each of them and kept it neutral- that's what makes her good with people and avoiding conflict.

I think that was a good attempt ;)

She's running away from it because she reminds him a lot of her ex. Human nature to run away from things that could hurt us. She obviously likes Drew a lot maybe even loves him, but it's complicated. For some reason she decided that Ed or the idea of Ed the Prince Charming will be the type of guy that could make her happy.

[god could write a lot more here but I'm a bit busy at the moment or I'll be here all day ]

She actually said to some of the girls at the beginning of the show that he reminded her a lot of her ex and as a result made a conscious decision not to go there with him. So I thought her comment to Drew about him being more her usual type was pretty consistent.

Yes, I agree. Thank you for your assistance in getting us back on track. I think we did reasonably well ;)

After seeing pics of her dad I do believe drew was the type of person she would date. Her ex was Italian, from Tuscany wasn't it? I can drew as an Italian man even though he isn't

I've gotta be honest...I'm kinda liking this Jade that is torturing Ed with all the things Surly made him say while he's helpless to stop it. It's fun to see her laughing about the whole situation and turning it back on him. It makes me love her more, because you know it's irritating him, but she just keeps it up.

I see Ben's eviction as the natural byproduct of the trend towards animosity expressed on these forums and elsewhere. People spend so much time focusing on who they DON'T like, they start trying to play games with voting, instead of just doing what the vote was intended, saving the people they want to keep in the house. I can't vote, but if I could, I would only vote to save Jade when she was up and let all the other stuff sort itself out. In general, viewers (and this board) are so hyper-reactive that even the smallest thing sets them off and next thing you know entire narratives have been created and reinforced with little balance or reason.

It isn't just the housemates playing games, there are people here that are like virtual housemates to this forum. It's kind if sad really... I wonder if they'd have the guts to say likehalf t things they do in person. Everything is exacerbated and they dwell into things that aren't meant to be dwelled in.

I hope Jade keeps up with the jokes she sets for Ed. If he had gone she'd probably be around Mikkayla and Tim which isn't so bad in my opinion. More air time for her

Tahan bitching about Jade, again. Complaining that Mika and Jade have gotten a free ride, and Boog agreeing they've been very lucky. Wonder if they are both safe again this week?

I feel as though boog has been acting a bit bitter since loosing showdown.
Maybe instead of complaining they should try more harder to win.
I think tahan and boog were both nominated

Hope so, she is so nasty. Her first target was the sugar sisters, now it's Jade. Maybe this is what she calls playing the game hard.

Not liking Boog. I don't know why every conversation Tahan has with females is whine bitch whine. They talk about Jade's conversations - holy hell, what's so exciting about complaining? Show us something else BB.

My first thought when I saw that video is that maybe Jade has been nominated and Tahan is doing all this negative Jade talk to try to get her evicted. I hope I'm wrong and it is just yet another Tahan bitch session. She is lucky she wasn't on last year BB. Jade and sisters at least made sure that they didn't exclude her. But then again maybe she would have fitted in so well with them. Even the language she uses "can't stand Jade, she is doing my head in", was something Ben and co. last year used a lot to bitch about Estelle.

Tahan is at it again in the latest video with Boog and Drew, bitching about Jade when they were doing the married task. She never stops. I can't understand why anyone likes Tahan. She is clearly jealous of Jade to bitch so much about her. They better show her true colours on the daily show.

I'm so over the bitching and the strategy talk. Bring back the old days where we actually got to know the housemates and see their everyday interactions. Too much like Survivor for my liking these days. I actually think Tahan would have been more suited to Survivor but I guess she wouldn't qualify for the US show.
