How did Ed survive the eviction ??

I had the result spoiled on facebook before I watched the show. Clearly from the beginning of the show, it was obviously they were expecting Ben. So based on that I don't believe it was a last minute rush.

Ben's fans got complacent. Everyone thought Ed or Drew. That's all it was.

Also remember, Ben was often a really small part of the show due to him just doing his act for the cameras. Which the editors clearly got sick of including. Then he had a hands off approach with social interactions.

This is a good point. Editor's fatigue helped do Ben in. Ben did not evolve his base persona from week 1 so the things he kept doing just became uairable for the fifth time. His inability to successfully socially interact locked him out of being included in anything else.

His biggest moment in the last toe weeks was being picked most likely to win. That doesn't help garner votes with nine people left.

Wouldn't be hard to get around that though, would it?

The people on the inside know the gross number of votes and would know their own votes would be absolutely meaningless.

Unlike people who think Ed's friends and family have the voting power of tens of thousands of people through their magical cell phones.

I would like to see Ed go but people who write it off to what Ed's family is doing are being silly.

You get one confirmation text per voting period ie a week. If you vote more than once you won't get a text each time.

Shackles, you know that also as it's been explained repeatedly on here and on Facebook (which is where most people cry rigged each week when their favourite gets booted).

Yes I know, I did not receive a confirmation this week at all.

Ed's family have gee'd up voting every time he's up, so I'm not that surprised he stayed. I guess Ben's fans forgot to bother?

Also, given that the close percentages were revealed to the viewers within three minutes of the show starting, and the voting lines closed within twenty-three minutes (usually they're open more like 40 to 42 minutes from the start of show) and bugger all to remind people of Ben's existence was shown in that time, it was a very dull ep, I guesss the show was happy to have Ben shock evicted last night. They sure didn't try to save him. And for that I say Halleluyah, thank you, it's a miracle, I thought he'd be in the final two and win the thing and there was no averting it.

Have to say, he worked that crowd like a seasoned, corny pro.

Well now we are going to see a whole lot more of the "funny" side of Ed, the cards have been pulled out..

1. The Ed Show on eve of eviction. 2. People assuming Ben & Tim were safe so failing to vote as they had previously. 3. The betting odds making people assume Ed was gone and the others were safe. 4. Revealing the percentages. 5. Daylight Savings in Qld denying Qlders the opportunity to vote during the show.

I think Ed really did play one of his cards. And it worked. Dammit.

I think the producers played one of his cards and played us! Jade wasn't up for eviction so all her fans would have been voting for Ed ...
the backlash re the fall in a hole storyline helped Tahan with her vote, people who wanted Ed gone seemed to focus on Save Drew to get Ed out but that might have faded away with Drew's tattling ... and in all of that Ben's fans just assumed even when they saw how close things were last night that the person with the biggest votes to save was Ben ...

goes to prove - assume nothing! Vote to save your favourite or be content to wave goodbye and deal with it ...

umm he got more save votes then ben?
i dont see the big deal? lol

umm its because bens fans dropped the ball, and just werent putting in the votes towards him.
its not a set up by the producers

its just a simple thing, he didnt get enough votes to be saved

Centrebet eviction odds were -

Ed 1.08
Drew 5.50
Tahan 7.50
Tim 17.00
Ben 26.00

Hypothetical situation -

If I was Ed's brother & determined to keep Ed in, since I was promised $50,000 if Ed won.

I worked out from past voting numbers that there is appx 200,000 votes cast per eviction.

That would only be 1400 votes (.7%) between being evicted & not being evicted but to make sure I had enough, I would want to know how many between second place & evicted which would be appx 3200 votes (1.6%).

If I bet $375 (x4) against *everybody* but Ed (the other 4 nominations), I would make enough *at the very least* to fund 3750 votes assuming Drew left.

So I wouldn't be out of pocket anything no matter who was evicted as long as it wasn't Ed & that's more than enough to get him out of last place.

If Tahan left, I would have enough for 3750 votes & still make $750 or if Tim left I'd make an extra $4300 or if BEN left an extra $7687.

Since BEN left, I'd have made enough to fund nearly 14,000 votes in another eviction.

Ed is going to turn out to be a mastermind evil genius and I will be pissed. Maybe one of his cards involved ben and now he has lost it. That bastard!
Nah Ed's brother isn't getting $50,000 he's getting 50/50, I believe, those twins have "plotted" a game plan and it involve BOTH of them as TWINS.. no way ED isn't splitting 50/50 if he wins and if his twin is anything like Ed he wouldn't be doing anything unless he got 50/50 SPLIT...so his brother is out there going gangbusters hahaha, I saw his eyes when he saw Ed only just missed out on being evicted the further dollar expenditure was ticking over....they are both the two biggest boofheads that ever walked in my opinion - I don't think they have a brain between them - certainly NO SCRUPLES and that goes with NO INTELLIGENCE

Not sure if this has been questioned before, but does Ed have a speech impediment? Every time he says the world 'girls' I have the greatest urge to throw the remote at my tv....

All of those, but especially the first one, and I think the producers have some questions to answer there - why were they setting up contrived airtime for a nominated housemate to air the night before an eviction?

6. The sympathetic Tahan edit from earlier in the week which probably leached votes away from all the other nominees

The reason nine uses percentages only is not that many vote these days. I certainly wouldn't waste a single cent to save or evict anyone. Let the cards fall where they may. I reckon its only a few thousand votes if that. Maybe in hundreds for some of them.

Nine BB execs make more money with getting the contestants advertising product than any votes. In the early years hundreds of thousands would vote. People start to wise up and not waste their money on such things. They know the teenies will vote like crazy to upset their parents credit cards for their phones.

7.00pm .............. 8.00pm

16.3 .................. Ben 16.2
16.4 .................. Ed 16.9
16.8 .................. Drew 17.0
17.7 .................. Tim 17.8
32.8 .................. Tahan 32.1

Assuming the order did not change, it seems voting during the show was decisive.
Ed gained the most during this time while Queensland was still waiting for the show to start.

Ed jade and mikkayla would have to be without a doubt the most boring people in There
