How did Ed survive the eviction ??

Maybe I haven't mentioned it but EP, Producers, Production Crew and anyone associated with Big Brother are unable to vote.

It's in their contracts.

But do they subliminal vote? By making some of their favourite housemates receive more airtime, or the housemates that create drama give them an extra edge on the days leading up to eviction?

Yeah, I reckon with that surly date that basically turned it into the Ed show. If anything ed probably got votes from that manufactured occasion.

My personal theory-

Big brother AU put Ben in to win.
He was there to play a role.
Big brother had scoured the Internet of any of his mentions and history and had it all removed..
They have the power to do so, we have seen it happen numerous times with other housemates profiles being shut down after being discovered.
Somehow they missed that one article, about Ben being a stand up comedian.
Once it leaked, big brother freaked out and decided to evict Ben and abort the operation.
They couldn't have him win after the entire nation knew he was a fake.
So regardless of the voting, Ben was going to always slightly underneath everyone else, only by literally a handful of votes.. Probably less than $100.. I reckon 10 - 20.. It was less than1% between them.

Ben said he packed his bags the night before the eviction, which never happens. They pack on the day of eviction.
And Ben said things like "I'm not disappointed about not winning the money.. I'm just going to be sad leaving you guys...If I leave that is"
It just seemed like he already knew up front..

Ben got heaps of special treatment.
He met his celebrity icons, Bert & pattie
He had his own king sized bed and own bathroom.
He was allowed to speak to the outside world via photographs

Even down to the fake eviction.. Was the fact that Tim wasnt up for eviction on purpose because Ben wanted a break from the house? To see his family and all that?

He had so much special treatment...
The list goes on and on.

In my mind, I'm certain Ben was contracted by big brother to play a character.. And was supposed to be there til the end.& possibly even to win it? But all that came crashing down the minute the comedian article was uncovered...
There's no way someone can go from most saved, to least saved in a week.
Something very fishy is going on.

But meh, Tim is clearly the winner, so it really doesn't matter anyway. Each and everyone of them, (especially ed) will be evicted.. So lets not be impatient.

I actually think it was drew getting the saves to get rid of ed, if ed wasn't up drew would have been gaaawwwnnn

Wouldn't be hard to get around that though, would it?

Of course it's easy to get around that.
They can just give a big chunk of cash to a "friend"..
Contracts mean nothing.
Dodgey stuff happens pretty much constantly in the tv industry.

In Hollywood, most positions are cast by sexual favours, that's not very ethical is it? But it happens.
Contracts are rarely even read by workers, let alone followed.
There are tons of news articles revealing reality shows being fake, scripted and rigged in American Tv.
Anyone who thinks Australian TV is any different is insane.

Of course I don't know for sure that big brother has anything dodgey going on behind the scenes, I'm just pointing out that many American reality shows have been outed as being fake, (with proof) so my guess would be that many Australian shows are also in the same boat.

Three syllables come to mind... "Terri 08". Don't think we have seen the last of Ben. I'm just glad I have plenty of
cough drops cause they are gonna cram him down our throats for at least the next 2 shows.

Alex has probably shat himself and is probably pulling a Tully in the toilet. Wonder if that is what is holding up live feed?

Amen! Loving your posts! xx

I wonder if BB is now kicking himself, for giving Ed so much airtime last night, from talking to Surly, asking Jade on the Date, getting ready for their date, having the dinner date, and then Ed and Jade in the diary room afterwards.
all we saw of Ben was him crying in the Diary Room at the end.

one of BB's favourites is now gone

So mad at bb for that. I was watching it at the time and was thinking are they really trying to run some save Ed thing here? Why? Then I thought his votes were so low and he's gone for sure (epedially with that person placing more than a thousand on him to go), that they're just doing it to give a fun send off.

It was probably the thing that saved him in the end since he and Ben were on the same percentage.

Complacency in Ben's fans, together with the production staff's decision to manufacture airtime for Ed last night.

Possibly voting in the last 30 minutes after the percentages were shown

Let's say the bottom two on the graph was Ed and Ben, viewers would assume that Ben was the one on 32% and Ed would benefit from fans thinking he's in danger... while Ben supporters didn't feel the need to vote anymore

I think you're right with this assessment. I certainly wouldn't have thought Ben in danger. Another factor could have been daylight saving. This is the first week of it this year. If Ben had QLD fans and I assume he would have, they couldn't vote during the show because voting was already closed due to our 1 hour delay. I also have a feeling that 'date night' for Ed was one of his cards. And they let him play it the night before the eviction.

3. People either like Ben or hate Ben - the comedy act / fakeness / story on here did not help him

Even though it was true. Australians obviously don't like con men. He even had the gall to deny it on stage with Sonia, brushing it of as Oh, I'm just Ben from Brisbane. Mr Clooney will be happy, he will have the bed all to himself.

I'm a little disappointed Ed is still here, but this is the second best outcome possible. I called Tahan having the most votes this week because of her rivalry with Jade (the dead comment) and being the only girl nominated. I knew that Ed and Drew were going to have the smallest deficit between them although I thought it would be at the bottom of the leader board. And I thought Tim would have less votes than usual (but sill be safe) because of his poorly devised fauxmance pursuit of Boog and generally looking less crafty and marginally more "mean-spirited" than usual. For Ben.... I didn't have any predictions, so I guess that's telling in itself.

Even if BB did help ed by doing the save ed surly segment or whatever we are thinking. So what? Ben has gotten plenty of special treatment, right? The first time Ed gets it, it's unfair?!

Ed has pretty much gotten the lackluster, barely there edits every week, while Ben only just got it this week. If Ben can't survive one week without the hyped up attention and babying from BB then maybe it was BB who was carrying him through anyway! :D:cool:

Amen! A different view on it but a worthy one! Guess we'll never know!
