Housemate has quit

I have no idea who it could be, tbh.

What I hate though is that the BB Facebook is promoting it as a "world first" as if it's the first time ever that a HM has decided to leave the show on their own accord. Um, it's already happened in Australia, let alone the rest of the world.

The "world first" is in regard to the concept of a housemate "sacrifice", not a housemate choosing to leave. I suspect Nathan has chosen to sacrifice his spot for a fellow intruder. Hopefully Justynn, but more likely Boog/Madeline.

I'm going in the House as a replacement housemate.

Like that would ever happen.

The show goes on, sorry who was that person.

David Campbell's trying to get it out of Sonia on Mornings. If I didn't have to go out, I'd watch and try to study her body language. (I know, sad.)

...my naughty side makes me want to say... "David Campbell's trying to get what out of Sonia on Mornings?"... implying something childish and rude but I'll resist the temptation to say it... oh wait...

Gretel and Sonia together on Mornings? Is this a regular thing?

Yep Gretel is a regular guest on mornings. Almost never speaks about BB though.

Gretal is sometimes on when Sonia isnt there to do those 'give your opinion on topic x' stuff with some other women but I haven't seen Gretal and Sonia on together before. I'm half an hour behind but this will be interesting to watch.

She is on HEAPS with Sonia

...I'm going to say it and I don't care how many people laugh at me... Gretel sure looks hot some mornings... there!... I've said it!... yes... I said that she sometimes looks really hot!... when she used to host Big Brother... nine times out of ten she looked a little bit like a scrag hag but since them days she seems to be looking hotter and hotter each time I see her... do I need some kind of therapy?... just asking... cheers.

My 0.02. Am going to say Drew. He's been portrayed as half-hearted since Tully left; quite a few moochie moments shown on LF and daily shows. If memory serves, he also looked pretty down about not being evicted last week.

Maybe someone cornered him over the whole he said/she said running to other housemates, and he's gone "ah fork it, time to see Tully," and bailed. Emo by hair, emo by action?

Yeah, reckon it's exactly something Drew would do.
Too cool for BB...

I swear to LUCIFER that if its My Clooney I'm turning off my T.V :p So tired of Alex crapping over all the fans of this show who have genuine interest and love the social dynamics of the experiment. They only seem to care about raking in the views and pleasing tweens who only care about seeing Ben talk to pictures so they can giggle. Shame, as it use to be a REALLY good show.

You mean like all of the publicity generated by "Tully going back in BB house"? I think it's wishful thinking that it would indicate anything big based on past hype over nothing.

From my recollection , they said Tully is back , they did not say she was back in the house .

Yeah, reckon it's exactly something Drew would do.

except that
1 he doesnt know whether Tully is really interested in pursuing anything other than friendship outside of the house & whether her relationship is on/off and
2 he's a game player ... and has been all along very quietly sussing people out in the background

i think the Morning Show thing is aimed at throwing smoke up so we all spend the day second guessing the obvious ... they don't want us to figure this out and go "oh just him - YAWN" and go about our lives

they needed something special to draw us to view the show at a different timeslot and perhaps to draw more viewers to the AGT final going on beforehand ...

of all the HM's I can see Nathan deciding enough - too high school for him and not getting anything out of it - I kind of got the impression he was surprised he was immune from voting this week (I was too - I thought as soon as he became a Housemate he was up) .. and maybe he recognises the inevitable is going to happen - he'll be gone as soon as he is up ... and why waste 2 more weeks being somewhere he is miserable most of the time

Mind you in one of the updates he said he had fun in the first night of Rock Paper Scissors task ... so who knows ...

they could have least have played nice and posted regular kookaburra updates or made their title photo a kookaburra

The way Alex M tweeted "Wow, just wow. Don't miss tomorrow's #BBAU" made it sounds like whatever had happened had just happened... and yet they had all these promos up and on air in no time at all. When exactly did this happen? Smell a rat?

For all the hype it had better be one of the original HMs.

My gut instinct was Jade b/c she seemed rather unhappy last few days. My other guess would be Nathan for pretty much the same reasons. He admitted he doesn't feel comfortable in the house and called Tim out for something. However, given BB likes to create dramz, it could be Mr. Clooney?

But yeah - it's probably Nathan, and it's probably another huge beatup, so I'm prepared to be disappointed.

Who would Drew sacrifice himself for?

I can't see it.

They offered Nathan something to leave and give his spot to the female intruder that would have been evicted and smartly he took it.

You're probably right.
But I do get the feeling Drew is over it and realises he's blown his chances of winning anyway because of the whole cheating with Tully thing.
Think he's absolutely infatuated with the girl and is pining for her and counting the days till he sees her again...silly boy.

Who would Drew sacrifice himself for?

I can't see it.

Plays in my head with Sunday being the most likely day for filming the original Boog/Maddie eviction. BB sets it up as last week - asking the HMs who they prefer; Drew's had a rough night after being nailed about spying/tattling; Tim's been in his ear about how much he "loves" Boog...

Drew goes to the diary room, asks BB if instead of nominating which intruder he'd like to have stay, could he please go and they both stay.

And then my tiny brain explodes!

Nathan had a falling out with Tim a couple of nights ago and has been struggling in the house. He is not getting along with anyone. He is not a very nice person.

I can't agree that Nathan is not a nice person.... He simply can't find his place amongst that group and has said quite a few times now that he doesn't like all the bitching. Going in late would be very, very difficult. Also, he would know 100% that he has no chance of winning so why bother.

Another theory: BB doesn't want to pay someone double time on our Public Holiday?!

Mornings is filmed in Sydney isn't it? I guess if they intend to do an interview with the person Sonia still has time to fly up there but usually she just has someone else do Mornings when she is doing Big Brother?

If you want to know if its Drew - keep watching Tully's twitter account. right now she is definitely still in Sydney. I'm pretty sure Drew quitting would not get in the way of Alex doing his on-stage reunion - especially if Tully were the reason Drew quit.

It’s NOT the dog. #BBAU

Melore...I don't have twitter but if you have time, can you ask Alex this for me: "Is it someone that the voting public would have been trying to save?"

Ha! I don't touch Twitter myself. That was a quote taken from TV Tonight website's story on this, and I was too lazy to give it a proper link or attribution.

didnt they used to allow housemates to smoke within the house?
im sure season 1 and 2 had housemates who smoked, and they were able to smoke within the walls outside

or they gave them gum and patches

No, they never had people smoke in the house. The only time I believe they allowed it was for celeb bb in some hidden area (to save Kyle from having his tantrums). Thing is you never saw it though, and that's why they don't allow it because if someone is smoking they're not going to show it.

They just give stuff like patches if you're that desperate.

The Big Brother schedule for the season does rely on them having the exactly right number of people in the house. Some kind of shuffle is going to have to take place, and it's a bit late in the piece for a "replacement housemate" now (which has been done before, but way earlier in a season).

Having both intruders stay would be an easy, logical option. We might have voted in a poll, but it hasn't cost us anything, so all good.

If they were planning a double eviction any time soon, then they're laughing, cause all they have to do is make that one a single. Maybe that's why double evictions do get scheduled into BB seasons in the first place... as a bit of a buffer for the unexpected.

As far as the voting goes... we really can rule out all of the housemates up for eviction, because the voting lines would be shut down, very quickly, for sure. If someone up for eviction walked, Ch 9 would probably use a combination of offering refunds for those who apply with evidence how much they spent on votes, and a donation to charity with unclaimed proceeds from the votes... a situation that becomes more of a nightmare the longer you leave it. That's pretty much how Ch 10 got around it on Australian Idol when Cosima left. And the big questions that time were "When did they know she was walking? And how much time passed between them finding out, and the phone lines closing?". It would be a really bad look if the BB and Ch 9 had reason to be awkward about answering the same questions. Not going to happen.

I know I suggested Boog and Madaline having to choose between themselves before... possible, but it would be a bit rich making announcements that a "housemate" had left, rather than an "intruder". We all know we're going to be jumping all over them for that if that's the case.

Not many people left to choose from after all that. So yeah, it's definitely Jade, Nathan, or Mikkayla (unless BB are grossly misusing the word "housemate").

I guess my money would be on Nathan too, if it weren't for the words "game changing" getting thrown around. Surely they wouldn't want to lose credibility saying things like that about their lowest profile housemate... makes them look silly as a wheel.

I entertained the idea of money on offer in a temptation game of some kind... but a decision to take the money and run isn't a "sacrifice" at all.

Anyway, I'm down to Jade and Mikkayla.
