Jade 2013 Appreciation thread

Wow, just watched the 2 videos of Jade crying in bed and I feel so many emotions!
Firstly, Matt just went up in my estimation. Was nice to see him offering comfort to Jade like that.
I wanted to reach through my screen and drag Ed's slimy hands off her!!! How dare he play the nice guy when he just threw her under the bus! He truly sickens me. Even the way he speaks grates on my nerves. Meathead, indeed.
Tully, piss off! Nothing to do with you, you little skank.
Tahan rapidly going down in my estimation. Used to think she was ok but lately she just seems like a nasty so and so.

Like lafirenze said, I do wish Jade would pull away from Ed completely, for her own sake. It's sickening watching him use her the way he does.
I know she has a soft spot for him and needs comfort, but PLEASE Jade.... No more Ed.

I'm not sure he has a soft spot for her.. He's always saying nasty things about her behind her back and to the other housemates. Is that part of his game plan? Maybe? But as some of the others have pointed out, she considers him a real friend and he doesn't appear to return the friendship in a genuine way..

If you watch you'll find that while Tim is usually in conversations where Jade is being bitched about, he very rarely participates and even often defends her. Tim also said in an early episode that he encourages them to bitch because he know it makes them look bad. I have no issues with what Tim is doing because it's actually protecting Jade quite a bit. He defends her to the public a lot through BB chats and noms, but he doesn't make it as obvious with the other housemates. He's happily watching them dig their own graves. Also if he defends her too much to the others he's to put a massive target on Jades back.

I think it's a mixture of him genuinely liking her and wanting to keep her around because 1) he knows the housemates poor treatment of her is bringing them down, and 2) he'll be able to beat her if she makes it to the final.

The show wehre he talks about how embarassing it is that she follows Ed around and makes snipey comments in the kitchen!! This was even brought to Jad'es attention and she was confused after thinking that they were friends! Will try to find some live feed..

Most of us have seen it, he basically stated what is obvious...I don't remember any 'snide' comments.
Tim has always liked Jade, on the late night feast he barely said anything about her and what he did say she laughed at.

You can tell from Ed's body language when he's "comforting" Jade and telling her to go to the diary room that he SO doesn't want to be there. He's acting from a sense of obligation, not genuine concern.

100% agree.
He has said to big brother that mikkayla and jade need him to help them and he has done that. He protects them and the others don't even know it.

Yeah, I really wish she would just ignore him and flat out refuse to talk to the prick for the rest of the week.

I wish that too, but unfortunately she has feelings for him and still has him on a pedestal. While some other girls would be making a scene Jade quietly cries in her bed. Even then she's reassuring him that it's okay and that she doesn't blame him when it's obvious she can't help hurting inside. Matt completely surprised me, but then again I remember an earlier nomination when he nominated Jade because he thought she had a lot more to show than what she was showing. I think he could tell they were real emotions and real vulnerability and so comforted her in a real way.

Will be an interesting week I think!

With Tim, I've seen him have some of the most genuine conversations with Jade - I think they talk easily to each other and he always comes across and being more open with her (instead of a smartarse etc). He only mentions Jade in terms of others when he's trying to get a reaction out of people, not because he feels any malice towards Jade. In my opinion anyway.

The way she cries quietly makes me really sad, actually. I'm not her biggest fan, but I do like her and think she's a nice girl. It's really heart breaking to see her so sad and all by herself... it's really endearing how she doesn't make anything about her, besides maybe her obsession with how she lacks intellect but has the looks to make up for it (whereas she's pretty, yes, but she's a good girl deep down and that's what makes her great).

Blah, Jade. You make me mushy.

I don't think Ed is a 'pig' as such, I just think he's a little weak. For example he's basically saying that he thinks he can beat Jade over Tim, but I don't know whether he's processed the fact that if he does she might be out of the house. They all think it's a real double. It's always been obvious that he cares more about how he's being portrayed than he does about friendships etc so it didn't surprise me at all to see him pick Jade.

Drew on the other hand has no excuse whatsoever. He deserves whatever disease the feral one spreads to him.

Why is he a pig? (I'm not saying he isn't, I'm just curious to hear your reasoning).
Well, it's just my opinion .... but what I really can't stand about him is the way he treats Jade.
It's inconsistant, unfair and it's like his boundaries are constantly changing. Mixed messages; come here now go away.
Icing on the cake though was him putting her up last night. The way it was drawn out was just terrible to watch.

Yeah, he could have worded it better. I think the way he said it could have easily hurt her feelings. I wonder what Ed's intentions are going into BB. Obviously he wants to get into media, but what is going through his mind exactly? I really want to know.

I completely agree. I felt really bad for her. You could tell she knew it was coming, too.

Yeah, she knew. She even stepped forward before he said her name.

lafirenze I agree. Personally thats what I would be doing, distance from Ed. But I just can't help thinking 'Just go and have some fun then, Jade' but I must remember..it wouldn't BE harmless fun because she actually really likes him. So yes..distance!!

I feel so bad for Jade. Matt has gone up in my eyes. TIM has gone up even FURTHER in my eyes. Ed and Drew and Tully can go to heck. Just awful. Ed is just a slime ball. And not a very bright one either. He dug is own grave. Throwing somebody under the bus who liked him and would have his back. Really nice, Ed. Then acting all sorry for the cameras. Wow.

If I was her, I would distance myself from Ed right about now. I don't blame him at all for doing what he did - it was VERY smart, and anyone who disagrees is being biased in favour of Jade. However, she needs to back away and show that she's not some needy little girl who goes crawling back to the guy who's made her out to be a fool and then put her up for noms. If he was a "true" gentleman who really cared about her, she wouldn't be up. Fact is, any normal and sane person wouldn't do that for someone else in the house after only a couple months (even if it's a lot of time spent together). Ed has his head on right... good on him. Tim is just nuts and very lucky he has Australia on his side, hence why what he did for Mikkayla is a whole other matter (and just a psychology thing, really).

Jade just needs to stop taking all the pity kisses, hugs, etc. If she were to just say "NO", I think everyone would gain a lot of respect for her. In future votes, she'd probably be kept around longer for it. It's in her best interest - both strategically and personally - to do so. It's just sad that she still keeps accepting his half-arsed attempts at saying "sorry". Again, don't really blame him at this point, nor her. They just need to stop with the whole sort-of-not-really love thing. And don't get me started on Drew again, the idiot.

Of course she will keep being friends with him, what else can she do? She doesn't like drama so she will just bear it. She doesn't have many friends in there so it is not very smart to push him away now, don't want another person to have reason to nominate her. I guess they all think in there that Tim is a strong player so she understand why he would pick her. She is the sort of person that doesn't hold grudges. This whole thing reminds me so much of what happened to Estelle last year when she heard Michael nominated her. Estelle also forgave him, although Estelle was more gutsy than Jade. Estelle was like forgiven but not forgotten but I can't see Jade doing this. I wish she would, I wish she would start really playing this game. But then would we still love her if she did start playing hard?

Really need to save save save Jade this week ( if she stays on the bench) much better than the other females in the house !! Inside and out ! Drews a snake for putting her up , she would never give him points for noms !

Matt's got so much integrity. It amazes me that people still think he's an up-himself arsehole. I think Mikkayla's just mad that Matt has real standards and a moral compass, whereas she has none. The way she talks about people shows that, and that's just one vile facet of her personality. Matt's a real man. He may not be the smartest man, but he's a man. I don't know what his career involved (I don't like military), but I respect his honour.

Estelle was strange with Michael, so I wouldn't really use her as the best example. Otherwise, yes, she was much more gutsy. Jade is her own person though and needs to start acting like it. She doesn't have to be mean or rude, she can just create some distance. Honestly, it'll just make him want her even more. There's nothing she can't gain from it besides maybe some kisses that mean absolutely nothing to him.
