As in we will have a half hour daily show and one hour showdown?

Interesting...............very interesting. So much happier about it being on a Thursday night instead of a Saturday night! So I guess they will film the games Wednesday night then.

If that's true about swapping a nominated housemate that's a great change compared to the 100% luck based way it is now.

Although the winner of the Showdown will get to swap a nominee, the nominations superpower now shifts to the evicted housemate.
Here is the excerpt from the article on the Mediaspy forums relating to the change:
From the following Monday onwards (26th August), the Evictee will throw a bomb in to the house as they leave, by handing over the Nominations Superpower to a Housemate of their choice.

I'm hoping for an hour DS and half hour Showdown - unless they actually do it live.
So does this mean Showdown has been extended??

Who knows? It was always meant to go for 4 weeks and so far it has only been going for two weeks. But given they have moved it early, they probably want it to get better ratings so they can keep it.

No, I doubt it. Sat showdown was only scheduled for 4 weeks due to sports committments.
I guess the question also is - will we see even a 30 minute daily show on Saturday once Showdown moves? Even just on GO? I doubt it, though.
So Shelley ended the final Saturday Showdown with "it's goodbye from us [...] we're making way for the footy" or words to that effect. So is the new Thursday version of Showdown going to not be hosted? I didn't hear them mention the new slot.
