‘Big Brother: Secrets & Lies’

Conspiracy theory

I just watched Bit On The Psych and I reckon Dan might be right about Wolfie. When he first said it, I was 100% sure he was wrong. But ...

1. At the start of BOTP Dr Funke brought up the mole situation (which is well and truly out of the bag) and she said "Dan obviously found out that someone was the actor, you know, I don't want to say". Odd.
2. Two thirds of the way through she says "I think Big Brother have met their own with Dan".
3. The other expert says of Dan "I think he's brilliant at reading people". BB wouldn't want their psychs or body language experts to give up a secret mole, so surely they would word them up. BUT the expert doesn't want to appear incompetent, so while they can't give up the mole, they could praise the 'brilliance' of the housemate who has it all sussed.
4. Wolfie was the sacrificial lamb in the last task, which was phenomenally cruel for a real housemate but not cruel at all for a paid actor/mole.
5. Wolfie is a bit mad with talking to animals/insects, which could be true but is insane enough to be part of a lie.
6. Dan clearly has great skills at sussing people out.
7. Michael did a great job under the circs, but some things he did strangely, eg someone pointed out that why would an actor/mole go to bed so much? Maybe he needed to get rumbled to put a nail in the coffin of the mole conspiracy, in order to leave room for the real mole to work without suspicion.

Then they tried to throw us off the scent at the end of BOTP by denying Wolfie is a mole (complete with a video package: too insistent?) but they are all paid by BB, even Michael. AJ says of Wolfie being an actor "but Wolfie, come on ..." but later says about Dan being an actor (in the news) "Well you're both wrong so up yours. He is in fact a real housemate, as is everyone else" - much more definite.
Obviously I am not sure, but I think that Michael might have been a decoy mole so that we don't discover the real mole, be it Wolfie or someone else. What do you guys think?

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if there was someone else... I could name a few people of suspect.

It's funny though, how you start to think of people in a different light when you suspect something like a mole. The twins came to my mind during the last episode.

So it'll be interesting if there is another "insider".

Name and shame.

Agreed, I wonder if I am just falling into the intended paranoid mood of this season.

I hope there is. Otherwise only one week of having a mole is disappointing.

As you said, I've definitely started to fall into that paranoia as well.

IF there is someone else in there it'd surely be someone who's already had some significance in the house. The two that I'm currently thinking about are Wolfy (only after what I read in your above post did it make me think about a couple of things also) and I'm definitely also thinking the twins Jake & Joe.

For me, there's suddenly something about the twins that made my mind click, and it only occurred to me at the end of the most recent episode. I mean, maybe I'm starting to get a bit picky but they just seem a little too nice and a bit too close... which would normally be fine, but it's almost a bit fake? Almost as if they're trying to put on a comedy duo act. I'm not sure...

I've ruled out Dexter and Gina. It's obviously not Dan. And I would have thrown Daley in there but so far he has done nothing (in my opinion) but sit under the radar and be a "potplant", at least that's how I've perceived him.

Also, just putting this out there...

And with that, I bid you all goodnight. :)

OK, so I've been doing a bit of a background check on Wolfy. Real name Ainsley Millington, she really is who she says she is. She won a 3 drawer fishing seatbox in a Facebook competition for an angling magazine, she has a Vimeo channel with a couple of videos she'd made, one on the subject of shamans and animal spirits. She worked on a painting for some lesbian charity thing. Everything checks out so she's not an actor.

Of course she could still be on a secret mission. I guess.

Am I terrible for getting really annoyed with Wolfy? You knew Sallie for a week, pull yourself together! It brought flashbacks of BBUSA when Jessie left and his group were so upset and crying and saying it wasn't fair. It's Big Brother, what did you expect to happen?

And yeah, having the public vote you least attractive and hygienic would suck. But at the end of the day, it's done. You have to know that the public will feel bad for you, so I almost wonder if she's playing it up to gain more support.

It's one thing to cry and be upset with a friend leaving... It's another to carry on morning their eviction long after they've left as some BBUS HG's have done...

"The Friendship" in BB6 were by far the worst... Where they elevated Eric (Cappy) to god like status and built shrines to him around the house... They also created a mythology around him that he had "won America's heart", despite being despised in the outside world...

I'll have to wait and see how the Wolfy situation plays out before I form judgement... However I agree that if she continues to fret about Sallie and Micheal, it will start to annoy me...

The task was purposely cruel... While I think they may have crossed the line with unhygienic label, I really see nothing wrong with the task... It was intended to bring out the HM's true character... I can think of several cases where the task was successful...

BB has always let the viewers in on the twists as they unfold... I see no reason why BB would throw in a second mole and not let us know about it... Lying to the HM's is one thing... Lying to the viewers is another... BBBOTS is intended to create a culture of people talking about the show and to keep us talking... That's all the comments were intended to do... They are just trying to make us as paranoid as the HM's...

No way is there another mole, they would've been outed as 'fake' by now by the viewers.

At the most there is legit people on secret missions maybe.

... and Dan is so hot... makes me wish I was a gay man.

I think this season is really well casted. What do you guys think about the casting?

What do you guys think about the casting?

The casting has improved leaps and bounds from the first Channel 5 series... This is one of the best casts IMO since BB7... BB9 and BB11 were decent enough but I wasn't that invested in the characters...

I think this cast just goes to show that Channel 5 are at least making some efforts to improve the quality of the show...

Dexter's pity party is driving me up the wall... He's not going to change peoples opinion of him he's not going to do it by bringing up in almost every conversation... He is incredibly insecure and while people may not see him as the douche he was portrayed in the media prior to the show... They now see him as an insecure whiny loner that has to pay people to be his friend...

BB really needs to put something new in place ASAP... I'm going to get extremely tired of the conspiracies about there being a second puppet... I love that the twist has made a serious impact on the house but it dominated the storyline in the first week as it was...

Back on to Dan again... Have we ever really had a gay man alpha male before? I also get sort of a Ben vibe from him but a more mature and less catty/bitchy way...

Well that blows that theory then. Good detective work!

About Dan, I wonder why Tom from 2011 thinks he is going to turn out to be a villian? He seems so nice, if not a little suspicious. Would be hard to get the job out of your system I guess. Like Ben from BB3 AU. He couldn't stop playing cops in the house - and the stories he would tell. That was the first year of Uplate and it was open slather. Ah the good ol' days.

I think Ben (if you're talking about BBAU03 Ben) came across more of a sneaky pot-stirrer though. Yeah, he also "couldn't get the job out of him" but he was more into interrogating HM's, being aggressive and wanted to be the control of situations, rather than Dan's situation of just being really cluey, observant and suspicious.

That's in terms of character though, because of-course the "alpha" status is another story all together. And yes, Dan is a lot supeior than Ben was, and Dan is currently sitting as one of the very alpha males in that house at the moment. It's good to see.

No 2012 Ben...

No 2012 Ben...
Right! Sorry, that makes more sense.

Yes, I can definitely see the similarities between the two now. Not so much as an alpha though, because people like Josh and even Michael overtook Ben in that circumstance, but I know what you mean about being the "eyes and ears" of the house, and conspired theories etc. Michael was very much the same actually.

Interesting stuff in that episode...

Man, BBUK thinks up some cool tasks. The last couple have been quite inventive. At least more so than mot of BBAU's recent tasks.

My feelings are changing about Wolfy. I'm beginning not to like her very much.

Did Dan and Hazel's conversation imply that Hazel doesn't feel comfortable around Charlie and that she hasn't connected with her, like Dan feels about Wolfy?
