I hope they don't focus solely on pop culture like that list seems to. Although I guess if it's Travvy and Skye in the final 2 then there is no need to go any deeper.

-Gough Whitlam's death
-Scotland votes to remain with the UK
-Hong Kong democracy protests and police crackdown
-The US and co.'s airstrikes in Syria
-Australia sends troops to the Middle East
-Refugees fleeing ISIS: 130,000 to Turkey, with 1 million already there
-Hawks and Rabbitohs winning their premierships
-Brangelina wedding photos
-The death of Nicole Kidman's father, Antony Kidman
-Catalan independence vote

Funny enough, I just saw the post on FB and was coming here to start a post (until I realised one had already started)

The 8 items on the post, one of them was actually a news story.

If I was a housemate and I got shown that, I'd be flipping tables.
 
Joan Rivers' death.

To note, whilst she died on Sep 4th (five days before they entered the house), the housemates were in lockdown since late August - Mavroidakis had the date on twitter.
 
It's come to the point where we will have the newsreel for the final 2/3. I'm just pissed off that Skye/Travis will be there and they won't even understand half the stuff!

What do you think will be shown? I'm thinking Ebola, ISIS, Mhmm Gough Whitlams death..

I'd say the celebrity news will be Joan Collins death, Kate Middleton baby number 2 on the way. Then all the new celebrity babies such as Ashton Kutcher's new daughter etc.

Then all the sports results.
