The Block: Glasshouse

maybe he does already being a miner, he probably likes them. he might even excavate for you if you offer him certain tradesmen for the day back at The Block. know any good plumbers? ;) :p

Gathering by Max's reaction in the car, he doesn't haha, and the whole wearing same underwear for days... so straight! :p

I don't think the winning bathroom deserved to win, let alone a perfect score. That bath was tiny! I'm not keen on under floor heating either. I did like Max and Karsten's bathroom, and I also thought Handsome Man and annoying WAG's was great.
I love underfloor heating but I agree, I don't see how they got a 30 or even won. The way the judges were talking in the ads leading up to last night I was expecting these massively posh and original bathrooms that we'd never seen before and I wasn't really blown away. They were lovely of course but not 5 levels beyond Brad and Dale's last season or the twins in Sky High. Maybe I've just been looking at too much property online lately but there wasn't really anything that I thought was too groundbreaking last night.

I totally agree! Nothing ground breaking, at all. Placing a shower over steps is quite original, though, but if not quite earth shattering, at least possibly bone shattering!

It's been a crazy week for The Block Glasshouse's Chris, 24 and Jenna, 26.

First they ran out of tiles on the last night of the main bathroom challenge and had to make-do by covering up their incomplete wall with a giant mirror.

The following day their tradesman who was booked to do the final silicone seal of their room turned up nine minutes before deadline.

Winners! Sydney couple Chris and Jenna took out the main bathroom challenge on Sunday night's episode of The Block Glasshouse

But against all odds the Sydney couple took out the top prize on Sunday night, pocketing $10,000 and a perfect score.

Despite their tradie and tile debacle Chris and Jenna pulled through, wowing the three judges with their gorgeous dark decor and heated tiles.

On top of their win the couple also received thirty out of thirty, beating out the other contestants with top marks.

It's a winner! The final product featured a luxurious bath, pendant lights and dark tiles

While receiving their score the duo appeared surprised but over-joyed, unable to wipe the smile from their faces.

'It was amazing, we couldn't stop smiling when we saw the first ten and then the second ten and then the third one, we were like, it's too much!' gushed Jenna.

But there was tough competition with other teams putting up a fight and producing incredible bathrooms.

Stunning: Attention to detail really paid off for the pair with the judges describing the room as mind-blowing

Host Scott Cam complimented the contestants, proudly saying 'you did an outstanding job.'

Darren, 32 and Dee, 42 came in second place with a score of twenty-eight for their unusual black and white tiled room.

As a whole they kept things simple, creating a modern environment with a large window and tub.

Crisp look: The judges described the room as modern and urban

Newcastle couple Karstan, 26 and Max, 24 came in third with a modest score of twenty-six for their dark room.

Featuring black glossy tiles the bathroom featured a large storage compartment for towels, which the judges loved.

Their giant white tub was also a winner but the lack of under floor heating put the young lovers at a disadvantage, bumping down their score.

Michael and Carlene, both 31, were situated near the bottom of the score board, marking an end to their lucky run as of late.

The pair won the antique challenge earlier in the week, winning $5000 which they used to hire more tilers for their bathroom.

A marble vanity and built in drawers gave the room a luxurious look but steps leading up to the bath and shower acted as a draw card.

While it was a unique fixture the judges were concerned about the practicality of the stairs, seeing them as potentially dangerous once water is involved.

Bad choice? In an unusual decision the couple put stairs next to their shower and tub but the judges thought this could potentially be dangerous

Coming in lucky last were Coffs Harbour brothers Shannon, 35 and Simon, 28.

The boys took out the first room win last week but their decision not to include a bath in this challenge put them at a disadvantage.

In a positive their $1350 shower head was popular but it still wasn't enough to help them stand out amongst their neighbours.

The siblings walked away with a low score of twenty-three for their simple white, grey and beige bathroom.

The Blockheads, as they're called, will spend next week on their guest bedroom and study.

With two rooms expected to be furnished and finished, emotions are sure to be at an all time high.

The show continues on Monday night at 7.30pm on the Nine Network.

I think Max and Karsten's looked the most luxurious, but all rooms had nothing on previous seasons when they had much less space and worked hard to capture a view with bath/shower angle.

Absolutely agree, VERY dangerous, we recently stayed in a hotel with marble steps down into a shower, I thought I was being careful stepping up after my shower, but - OUCHY!!!!

They work hard, they play hard! The Block's 10 contestants finally get to chill out as they celebrate Maxine's birthday...by stripping down to their undies in ice bar

They're all currently embroiled in one of The Block's toughest seasons as they attempt to renovate an abandoned office building into a set of luxury apartments.

But the show's 10 contestants certainly seize any opportunity to party, as seen when Karstan's invite to celebrate Maxine's 25th birthday was met with universal acceptance on Monday night's episode.

And the boys made it a night to remember for the birthday girl, with Karstan, Simon, Shannon, Chris, Michael and Darren stripping down to their undies as they enjoyed the festivities at a Melbourne's Chillion Ice Bar.

Surprise! Karstan noted on Monday night's episode of The Block that he was planning a surprise party for Maxine - and fortunately all of his fellow contestants were able to join in at a Melbourne ice bar

Traveling in style! Darren, Shannon, Simon, Deanne, Karstan, Maxime, Michael, Carlene, Jenna and Chris were transported to the bar via limo

They were joined by women of The Block, Maxine, Jenna, Deanne and Carlene, in a limo that escorted them to the exotic establishment.

Obviously a more clever bunch, the girls opted to not shed their thick and warm freezer jackets in the chilly room.

But the guys, reveling in their outrageous idea to party in briefs, had a good time as they were pictured doing shots and even busting a move on the ice/dance floor.

Keen for a kodak moment, Darren, Simon, Shannon, Karstan and Michael picked up Maxime in the air for a fun birthday snap.

When in Rome! Maxine licks the room's ice centerpiece as the night rages on

It's amazing that the crew found the time to party two days after being stunned by Sunday's announcement that each team is to present two rooms for next week's room reveal.

Not only are they to polish off another guest bedroom, but also a study.

There was also undercurrents of tension on Monday's show, with Simon and Shannon being bothered by Darren and Deanne's giving their bathroom the low score of only seven.

Darren and Deanne, meanwhile, walked away as the shows' big winners - their room as given 37.5 out of 40 points by their fellow contestants, scoring them $5000 in cash and prizes.

Wow, Michael's undies are impressive! This is great journalism from the Daily Mail - more of these articles please!

They all have their underwear so low. Yum. So so yum. :shamefully:

Although, why the heck is Shannon hiding behind someone in every single photo?!

Those fucking twins! Chris and Jenna oughta be shot for bringing them into it!

Bloody Channel 9. They are obsessed with those twins, and they love flogging dead horses.

Nice to see Shelly sporting her PJ's tonight
