I wonder how the debate would be if the young guy on the phone went, 'you want a guy with a big dick? you must be pretty loose then, so I will pass.'
Nope.
As much as people these days think/want to believe that males and females are equal we are not. There are different rules for each gender, I know this is probably an overused example but I'll use it anyway.... I could not go out a fuck as many guys as I wanted without being called a slut, whereas a man can sleep with lots of women without having the same stigma attached to them.
See here in lies the issue. It seems to be going back to the stereo type that men are tough, not emotional, not sensitive not allowed to be. Don't have feelings an insecurities.
There are differences, I think the assumption both are the same leads to a lot of foolishness but I don't think that is the issue here.
You can say such things jokingly. However it doesn't mean either sends the best message to society.
As for slut shaming, is that really a thing any more though?
It seems to go both ways in my opinion.
If it was a joke, I would find it tasteless but possibly funny depending on the delivery. Most people are aware that relationships are built on much more than wallets, neatness and genitals but they can still make light of coupling with over the top references to stereotypes with fantasy characteristics. If we can't laugh at ourselves then it's a sad old world.
Yeah it's fine to laugh at, it's just the bend over backwards people are going to pretend that it's a completely reasonable comment to make. I have heard comments here and there reinforcing the joke as reality.
You can have a laugh at it, but it's the pretending that it doesn't bare the possibility of offending and sending a negative aspect is the bit that needs to be high lighted.
Men's concern about Penis size is at least equal to woman's concern about breast size. Probably more .If you ever read up about it, as much as there's the focus on 'porn given man the wrong view of what real woman look like.' There's a huge issue with men feeling inadequate due to only being exposed to monster dongs in porn. Then on top of that where people can get a sense of the size of breasts, it's not a 'secret' 'hidden' things like penis size which adds to the insecurity.
I should clarify for the record. I am perfectly fine in this department.
Both gender examples are fine by me though a smart politician would steer clear of making jokes of this ilk and passing it off as humour for this very reason, it can backfire and bring unnecessary negative reaction. Don't see the relevance of slut 'shaming' though, it's a myth that men are the instigators of slut 'shaming'. Most women don't advertise their promiscuity and the ones who are blatantly open about it, it's mostly other women (worried about their own man straying and having a piece of that) who gossip and 'shame' them behind their backs. Generally speaking men appreciate 'loose' women, they don't look a horse gift in the mouth so on and so forth they just gleefully rub their hands and wait their turn.
Actually thinking about it, the is the aspect of guys doing for a 'slut' because they're considered to be more of a sure thing.
However I have seen and know plenty of girls who have hooked up with a 'player' because he's considered to be more of a sure thing, to know what he is doing. And / or the perception that if someone doesn't present or have a reputation as a player. That they will get over bearing and attached.
It goes both ways.
