Why do you all like Tim so much?

Yes he is funny, yes he is entertaining. But, he is unbelievably selfish and self absorbed, and cant seem to get along with anyone longer than a few weeks.

I give the man credit for his intelligence and ability to manipulate situations and turn them around to make himself look good. But what I don't understand is the way people seem to be fooled by him and unaware of his tricks.

Yesterdays episode was a perfect example. He did something wrong them ran to the diary room for damage control and to try and talk his way out of the mess and make himself look good again. But he wasn't as sharp as he usually is so his attempt at manipulation was more obvious. He does this all the time though, I have seen it again and again.

Every single person in the house is now aware of his tricks, even his former friends eg Boogs, Drew, Mikkayla, even Tahan has said recently that she doesn't trust him. But everyone out here still thinks he is just a simple fun loving guy who is just trying to have a good time. I really don't understand it. Don't his actions speak louder than his words?
 
I like Tim because he challenges the status quo and disrupts people's long-established neural pathways.
 
I like tim because without him this season would not have even had the amount of weeks it's had.

I actually don't understand how people couldn't like tim...?? Do they not realise the amount of entertainment he's brought? I'd like one person to explain to me why they don't like tim...one that doesn't involve him being selfish and self absorbed because I'll just reply back saying how the people they probably want to win this are x10000 bitcher and jerkier and much much much more self absorbed.

I like Tim because he's brain has been constantly working through out this series and he isn't some arrogant bitch just bagging people and hitting the treadmill, or some massive jock pashing with barbie, or some home wrecker who ruined a 2 year relationship. I also like him because he isn't a low moral bogan

Overall, I don't see why anyone other than tim should win.
It'd be so mentally draining to go into a house with people you don't know and not only try to entertain them but also try to be entertaining for all of Australia.

Maybe if there were people like Estelle, Stacey, Ben 2012 and Josh in the house this year, I wouldn't like Tim so much, because those people were actually fun to watch....however seeing as this years house has been filled with dumb models of both genders making the top 6, I cant help but want the clever stirrer to win.

Good on him for all the drama, because hate him as much as you want, you wouldn't have seen this season go past week 2 without tim

^^^ I agree with everything you said above. I love watching him on the Big Brother. Wish we had someone like him back here in the US to put in the house. I think its also because he really isn't malicious when he does do a bit of stirring. So entertaining.
 
I like Tim mainly because everyone else in the house are boring motherf*ckers.
Tim and drew are the only cheeky ones actually attempting to make good tv for us at home.
All jade and ed do are kids, and then have awkward conversations about just being friends.
Tahan just does her hair all day, and looks in the mirror.
Boog just makes fart jokes.
There isn't much competition. Tim is by far the most entertaining HM on this season, and of any other season I can remember.

He may be playing the game, it may all be an act, but regardless, he has given us good tv, which is much more than you could say about the other boring meathead and his Italian meatball fling.
 
I have enjoyed watching him the most. Selfish and self absorbed, yes at times but I remember him comforting and supporting Ben in the bathroom. Would I like Tim as a friend in RL, maybe not but entertainment value he gets my admiration.
 
I think a lot of it comes down to him being great to watch from afar but awful to live with up close, which for better or worse is a fairly normal way for people to interact with drama. Even in fiction, some of my favourite characters I loved exactly because they were awful, manipulative bastards, but I wouldn't actually be friends with them. So yes I like Tim for what he brings to the BB equation, every season needs a villain, not sure I want to reward him with money for it though.

Also I think Australians just really like troublemakers in general, as long as it's not directed at them. So I suppose it's that Funniest Home Videos "as long as it's not me" type reaction.
 
Because BB is a television show...

As with any show you love the characters who bring the most entertainment. you don't have to want to be BFFs with them, in fact your favorite will most likely be the person you'd least likely want to be friends with unless your as twisted as they are lol

I agree...But who would you like to award it to?

Ed: Massive dip shit with no respect for women what so ever .Australia dislikes him and the only reason he's in there is because his family are desperately voting for him

Jade: Would much rather leave this competition with Ed than $250,000. All she has done (as much of a sweet girl she is) is show lots of boobs and pash ed.

Drew: Loved the guy...wanted him or tim to win...then he went and became a homewrecker. I'm not sure I want my tax money to go to award a homewrecker.

Boog: no thanks...just no.

Tahan: Horrible person. A complete back stabbing bully. All she has done is complain and bag. People like her should not be awarded as kids will think it's ok to be a bitch and call people fat and stupid.

Tim: Stirs the hell of the place, does cause trouble but never to the point of self esteem damage (lucy and Katie were actually devastated after what tahan said).

Seeing as all my options are relatively bad...I'd much rather award the last one.
 
I like watching Tim because he is like no one I have ever, nor will ever meet. I did not know that people like him actually exsisted and I love that he is not afraid to be an exhibitionist and a manipulator. I love the shit he stirs up and I love peoples reactions to him.
I have also loved watching him crack under pressure. Seeing him sad and upset has been a reminder to me that people are just people, no matter how they portray themselves.
Tim has been one of the very best HM's ever. I have truely enjoyed watching him and hope that he wins.
 
I like Tim because he is the show. Big brother would not have been the same without him. Yeah he 'manipulates' the game but if anyone in there could do it the way Tim does, they would do it in a second - they just don't know how. Call him a manipulator or whatever you like, but he isn't nasty - unlike some other housemates I can mention. He is playing the game well - and he deserves to win AND will win :)
 
There are good and bad points about every single person in there and basically what you've just done is shrunk down his good points (funny and entertaining) and bypassed them and highlighted his bad points. You could do that about anyone in there.. Jade is pretty and caring but lacks personality and is boring.. Boog is funny and always happy but can be loud and immature.. Drew is sensitive and willing to have a crack but often hurts people's feelings... Etc etc

Why do you feel the need to single out one particular housemate when they are ALL on equal playing field??
 
Tim played the game. He entertained us and tried hard to win. Nobody else was really doing that. Drew went off track with Tully. Jade with Ed. Ed just kicks a ball and works out. Tahan decided to hate everybody and call them fake. People in the house are just sitting in the sun and doing whatever, but Tim was always playing the game and entertaining.
 
He is okay on the show...but would not want him for a friend in RL. I think his personality is the kind that ends up hurting most people he has close contact with. Just as in the house, he can't seem help himself. But Big Brother got what they wanted for entertainment value from him. He made me laugh many times...but he also acts like a spoiled brat and really is not very mature for his age. Unless it is all game and he is a very good actor.

So agree with this and many of the other comments in this thread.
Timmy has made BB this year and I admire him for his uniqueness and entertainment value. He has given his all to the game and it is clear in the last few weeks it has gradually worn him down.
I actually like him more now we have seen his vunerable, softer side. Not a good look for the others who have been quick to pounce on this vunerability like a pack of cowardly hyenas. They can smell the money and see him as a huge threat and obstacle getting in the way of them winning. So they will do anything from now on to make him look bad and bring him down.
I actually think this incident has only served to make him look better and improve his chances iof winning.
 
I've always enjoyed tim on the show, but I have always thought he's a total selfish prick. You would not want someone like him in your actual life.


I do think he came across really bad in the last episode. I personally think Ed came across better. Tim just came across pathetic and you could see the wheels trying to turn in his head to play his way out of it. The whole victim card. The whole going to people trying to make them feel guilty, trying to suck up. Trying to act like he's a vulnerable and emotional person to play the game.

He did come across pathetic.

God, fuck off. She hasn't back stabbed anybody. She has been loyal to her friends from Matt to Tully to Caleb to Tim. She helps out the other housemates -- helped Ben get a tan and washed him in the shower, does stuff for Tim like pop his pimples, fixed Heidi's hair, gave Matt a message, gave Mikkayla a message, etc. etc. She never called anyone fat. And when she made fun of Mikkayla it was after Mikkayla had screamed at her. She insulted the hair extensions after Jasmine made a jab at her while wearing them and called the Sugar Sisters dumb for taking that the wrong way.

And Drew.. Tully's a grown woman who is not married. Drew and Tully can hook up if they want to.
