When the cool male group (Travis, Ryan & Sam)

I have no problem with people being naturally "cool", magnetic, charismatic or entertaining. But when people *try* to be cool/entertaining/etc when they naturally aren't, they look desperate and foolish...and when people like Travis think they're cooler, smarter, wiser and more entertaining than everyone else - they are utterly unlikeable.

Oh and getting back to the OP, I don't think Ryan is in that club at all, he seems to be happy doing his own thing, I haven't seen any interactions between him and Travis since the split.

It's just center of attention stuff. It's the same as being involved in drama, has to be involved to get attention. Like Trav at the dinner table with David. He had nothing to add, didn't understand but being out of the loop means he's not getting attention and he stood up to end it and get attention back on him.

His whole comedy routine with asking questions was dreadful. It reminded me of the worst kind of Australian comedy. Where people say something as if it's funny, they have the tone of voice, they act as if it's funny. They'll be laughing as if they've got the funniest thing to say. Like they almost can't get it out it's so funny. When it's done on the radio or by Hamish and Andy types, the partner is already laughing, they're building excitement and in this moment they don't need to actually say anything funny. They just need to say anything. It's being funny by delivery, by the act of being funny not by what is actually being said.

But seriously, there will always be groups forming. That's how social groups work. People bond better with other people, they want them to stay. It's bound to happen.

Now, if these "cool kids" were acting condescending and genuinely thinking they are better than others because they are "cool", then I can see where the problem regarding being "cool" can be, leading to arrogance and a condescending attitude.

But so far, neither of these things have occurred, and I'll call a spade a spade, sounds like a bunch of people who are just jealous, really.

I'm sorry, but when someone (laying down with two freaking women draped over him!) has the audacity to tell another person that "nobody likes you" it implies that they consider themselves part of a group and someone that has enough power to speak for said group. Sure, Travis may not like Gemma (I can't imagine many people would) but he could have said "I don't like you". What he did was incredibly nasty because his wording of "nobody likes you" deliberately works to make her feel isolated and that he and the rest of his inner sanctum (that she's not a part of) are against her.

Equally guilty in the exchange I feel were Aisha and Skye whom I believe contributed to the nastiness of the comment by literally sticking by his side as a way of cementing the "nobody likes you" view.

To me that is acting arrogantly what Travis did. Believing that he has enough power within the group to speak for them and demean Gemma in that way.

But the context of the conversation was already on why "nobody" likes her not why "Travis" doesn't like her.

And from what we are led to believe, no one really does like her!

I can understand where you are coming from, regarding your last sentence, but from the cryings of Gemma and the complaints of the housemate, it is evident that no one really does like her.

And, honestly, I hate this whole "speaking on behalf of....". Look, it's the case with everyone. If someone believes there is a majority, they will round up and say "all, everyone, etc".

Travis isn't going to say, "but Gemma this is why housemate 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13" don't like you. It's unfeasible. Stop trying to read into things that aren't there.

It's beside the point whether nobody really does like her or not. Travis has no right to speak for them and say that. He can tell her he doesn't like her, and then the others could chime in and agree if they wanted, but it displays incredible arrogance and security with your place within the group to think you have the right to speak for a majority like that...especially when the mission was to make someone feel lousy.

Yeah, I suppose so, in a perfect world.

But in BB, this isn't even the first time it's happened, or on this season I would believe. It's no different to someone going to Gemma and saying "hey this is what x said about you".

That's the thing though, normal empathetic human beings that have evolved past high school don't go around telling people that "nobody likes them" in any situation.

I also think there's a big difference between what was said and passing on unflattering gossip but you're right, we'll have to agree to disagree.

True, but we need to remember, this is Big Brother. The environment in itself has a tendency to create a high school environment and bring the housemates along with it.

I was one that thought/thinks Ed was/is a bit of a douche.

He's not in Travis' league though.

That would be impossible.
