When might BBAU 2025 launch / timeslot

When do we think 10 will have the launch day and what time slot schedule do you think they’ll have big brother on?

Me personally they have 2 options.
1. If the project isn’t on… I say 6:30pm start for the daily show.
2. If project is on 7:30pm start for sure.

I’m unsure if the shows will be like the old days, of 30 min daily shows or wether they’ll go with an hour.. when they have noms/evictions/surprise specials they’ll have 30 min shows for sure.

They’ll def use the project to boost the project and probably will have special shows live from the amphitheatre and have evictees on there for an interview.

BB will def finish the week before I’m A Celebrity starts so early to mid January.

I suspect it’ll start October or November at the latest

First Sunday in October. But perhaps a couple of weeks earlier depending on how long the season is. I tip 8-10 weeks max.

There is no way it would run over Christmas.
Bingo, the ratings would tank if it continued to air past Christmas.

Purely a roll of the dice guess, but if BBAU 2025 is to launch in Q4, I'd guess it could start on the last weekend of September (not technically Q4) and end on the second week of December or at the very latest the start of the third week. For example: Launch 28 September (Sunday), end 8 or 15 December (Monday), series duration 72/79 days.

I don’t see channel 10 leaving a big gap between December and January… they’re working on a 52 week schedule in general from January to December

If 10 are doing bb in the ratings season, they would have to have the bb launch on Saturday the 4th of October and end on November 29th… idk if that’s long enough..

The nrl grand final would be on Sunday the 5th of October (if they keep it the same) (also daylight savings starts on that day too) they would be dumb if they put it against the 2nd highest rated show of the year.

So they simply won't do that.

Guess if it did end up getting kicked to 2026 it would be Q2 at the earliest to avoid MAFS.

I’d agree, it’s long enough but 10 weeks would be the absolute max it could run in Q4 before audiences completely switch off at the start of December.

70 Days is still a pretty substantial amount of time to keep an audience engaged now, 100 days always felt almost too long?

I had a dream a few weeks ago that it launched on the 7th September 🤣 might be too early considering they say Q4. But turns out it's a Sunday so 👀🤷‍♂️

Yeah that's a good point, there's no way they would launch that night, and the AFL is the weekend prior usually so that rules that out as well.

But if the launch is not live, they could tape it on the 5th and air it on the Monday 6th night.

If they push it back another week, a 10 week season would end on the weekend of 20/21 December. Not sure they would take it that late.

My guess is Monday 6th October, after the grand finals.
It's also a public holiday in NSW, Queensland and SA. So we'll be sitting around doing fuck all.
10 week season is a 14th December finale.

Had a quick look at OzTam and the ratings year ends on November 29th.

Just going by the ratings year Q4 actually starts on September 14th. The ratings year only observes 40/52 weeks meaning each quarter is 10 weeks long.

That's even less than I thought; I thought it went to mid December. We might only see an eight week season. They won't want the finale out of ratings. 29 November is a Saturday too, good grief. Maybe it will launch in September after all.

It's worth remembering the trend in the last couple of years has been to run reality shows shorter too - think MAFS and The Block are now the exception rather than the rule. Whilst the 6 weeks BBUK has gone with is far too short I think 8-10 weeks makes sense and is long enough to tick all the boxes (other than intruders perhaps).

Although looking at the ratings this year the AFL Final is earlier and then Seven completely failed to capitalise on it afterwards, gifting a 900,000 audience to a 1% Club repeat, so there could potentially be a huge audience with nothing to watch available on the Saturday night after the final if Ten wanted to take a gamble.

10 has launched BB in the past on Saturday, Sunday and Monday… it’ll all come down to the month and what major sporting events are on… 10 will need to avoid the AFL/NRL Finals/GF if they want a successful return.

That’s why Saturday 4th of October makes sense for a live launch…

Oh, that makes more sense. In that case, starting in September is certainly a possibility and it would give a few weeks before daylight savings (at the expense of having to factor in AFL/NRL finals).
