When might BBAU 2025 launch / timeslot

Yeah I anticipate that too. Once Survivor Aus vs The World ends there is still likely to be 17 weeks of the ratings year to go, so plenty of room for at least one of those to air, if not two simutaneously Sunday-Thursday even. Theres also room for a week of nothing new. If I had to bet, it will be Amazing Race that gets renewed if anything. Still, plenty of room for a decent sized BB season.

But to me Dessert Masters seems like a one off to fill in content. Masterchef has been known in the past to exhaust viewers with too many spin off seasons in the year. As for Hunted I haven't ever watched it or kept up with it's performance. I have no idea what it's fate looks like tbh.

I am of the opinion TEN are going to want a full length season. Nothing less than 9 weeks. It would be silly anyway to not try and take away viewers from the Block early on.

Theres no confirmation on that just yet, BB being back comes across to me like TEN are willing to ditch TAR. I don't think Brains vs Brawn 2 is going to be spread over 3 months. It will more than likely be stripped over 8 weeks with 3 eps a week just as Titans vs Rebels was. And Aus vs The World will probably do the same just over 3 weeks instead of 8.

I am pretty sure they announced at their upfront event this year that there would be even more celebrities racing around the world next year.

There was no mention of it returning in the TV Tonight article. It's even included in the absent list.

It still baffles me how popular Masterchef was when it initially replaced Big Brother - didn't it's first series finale get around 4m viewers? That's a gamble that really paid off for Ten when most of us here at least felt like Big Brother had done well enough in 2008 to deserve another throw of the dice.
I remember the buzz was because it was such a new format, and relatable, because lots of Aussies love to cook.

Back in 2020 when survivor had 2 seasons, B vs B went for 3 months and normal survivor went for 2 months

Wish it wasn't returning though, I have just found these last two celebrity seasons on 10 so non competitive and way too easy compared to the US version (e.g. not having to book their own flights, never struggling to find transportation from place to place etc.)

They’re looking for celebs and non celebs… so unsure what that could mean

I think they’re more than likely going to just stick with the titans vs rebels schedule rather than one from 2020. And there was no second season in 2020, BvB filmed and aired in 2021.

Sorry correction it was survivor all stars back in 2020 and then they had the Aussie filmed survivor for 2 months in 2020 as well

That's 2020 when content was stretched due to covid.

It's already confirmed the Aus v World season is only 14 contestants filmed over a couple of weeks so likely 12 episode max, so probably 4-6 weeks depending on if they go 2 or 3 episodes a week. I think that will likely be the show airing in the weeks before Big Brother.

This thread risks turning into nonsense though just retreading the same ground in multiple posts - we know roughly when 10 intend to launch it and there isn't a huge amount further to speculate on. The only complete wildcard would be that launching on the 31 December 2025 would still technically be Q4 2025.

Each OG series on ten started in April or early May and finished up in July, except for S5 which was on air until mid-August. Source: Wikipedia

All I’m saying is, that 10 will most likely use the same schedule as 2020 in 2025 and it would look like this (minus a couple of small changes)

So based off of that you can kind of see where BB will likely be

When do we think 10 will have the launch day and what time slot schedule do you think they’ll have big brother on?

Me personally they have 2 options.
1. If the project isn’t on… I say 6:30pm start for the daily show.
2. If project is on 7:30pm start for sure.

I’m unsure if the shows will be like the old days, of 30 min daily shows or wether they’ll go with an hour.. when they have noms/evictions/surprise specials they’ll have 30 min shows for sure.

They’ll def use the project to boost the project and probably will have special shows live from the amphitheatre and have evictees on there for an interview.
Honestly can’t see 30 min daily’s happening ever again. Hours are the norm even if there’s an eviction or noms. But to echo other people on here they’ll almost definitely combine the daily’s with evictions/nominations.
Kinda hope they don’t though. Loved the days when they were separate.

Still amazes me how much they used to pack into those 30 minute shows - you could learn much more about the housemates than you could in recent 60-90 minute editions produced by Seven.
Yeah it is an apparent dichotomy. The 2001-2008 daily shows were truly highlights of the daily events in the house. The 2012-2014 bloated daily shows whilst at times were great also included way too many enlongated segments dedicated to silly tasks, secret missions and occasional uncessary challenges. All of the gimmicks just made the longer duration of episodes redunant to me. And the CH7 episodes were just woeful.

I will also agree that 30 minute daily shows are dead. in a post-pandemic world the networks will want to milk local productions as much as they can. I can see us being in for 70 minute episodes (inclusive of commercials) just for daily shows just like Survivor. But it will be more interesting to see what they do with Evictions and Nomination nights. Nominations will almost definitly be merged with the daily show since I cannot see HYBPA being bumped to 9/9:10PM for that long.

If the project is still on… they’ll most likely have 30 min daily shows on evictions.. it’ll be 7pm start and then the evictions will be 7:30pm.
Then 7:30 starts for daily shows during the week
If the project isn’t on.. most likely have daily shows at 6:30pm to 7:30pm (providing they have enough content) or finish at 7 pm for noms and special shows.

Just depends what 10 are showing alongside BB for the 8:30/9pm time slot.

I don’t see 30 min daily shows being dead… 10 is risking BB by putting it in the 4th quarter. They wouldn’t want to risk the show by burning it out having 80-90 min daily shows… plus the evictions and noms are usual 90 min shows… they wouldn’t want to have 3 hours of bb most nights.

That’s the whole point of 10 bringing back the live feeds so the audience can watch it 24/7 and not get bad edits during the daily shows etc

No network is going to broadcast a stripped reality show at only 30 minutes. That just gives viewers all the more reason to switch over and there is no point having another show airing in between the 7:30 and 8:40 slots.

Q4 isn’t really a risk. I’m a celebrity, Survivor and MasterChef have each experienced established success in their respective slots. Evidently so. It would be foolish to air Big Brother at the start of the year against MAFS and it would be even more so for TEN to mess around with MasterChef’s scheduling that has been a proven success for almost 2 decades.

It’s probable that Sunday and Monday daily shows will be merged with live shows. Big brother itself will likely never be on for only 30 minutes again aside from possibly a Friday. But even then I doubt that.

Idk why the project wouldn’t return, it’s mentioned in the 2025 upfronts.

Meaning the project usually takes a break in December and early January.. 10 might decide to extend the break longer than usual.

And stripped back reality will work for BB being a 6 nights a week show.
