50-AT THE MOVIES (2004-2014)

Starting off at number 50. is 'At The Movies'. Now like most people here I enjoy watching movies (i'm guessing there might be some people here who hate movies but they probably also hate Christmas, candy, and Candy Christmas). I often like to choose movies based on what appeals to me. However there are times when I am truly unsure if a movie will be any good or not. Nowadays I'm totally lost in the billions upon billions of movie reviewers out there. But there was a time, back in the olden days of 2004 to 2014 where a young person like me could switch over to the
ABC so that two middle-aged people could help make up my mind into whether to see the next Marvel movie .

Yes, Margaret and David are the quintissential movie critics in my books. They are honest, engaging, not afraid to disagree with each other, and they also seem to have a sense of fun about them. Now I could wax lyrical about them both but I think that instead I will let them review this thread.

David: 'What Would Reeepbot Say' is a muddled, unfocused mess of a thread. There are times when it is full of silly games or quizzes, and there are other times when it is full of bitter fighting. I feel that this thread would be much better if it instead focused on those delightful buzzfeed quizzes. Apparently I'm a boss bitch. Margaret?

Margaret: Yeah, I'm not reviewing a thread, David. I thought we were going to see the new Star Wars, not participating in this stupid thread.

Mild introverts, you are probably ambiverts, inbetween exos and intros.

Every test I take, I come out ambivert.

I have both qualities -
Introverted they say - detest small talk, it is my pet hate along with lack of spatial awareness.
Extroverted sort of - I can get up and talk in front of crowds, anywhere, public speaking I find enjoyable, most people would rather die.
Literally be they exos or intros or inbetween, people actually put public speaking as a fear above dying.
I would suggest more people are ambiverts than either intorverts or extroverts.

49- FAWLTY TOWERS
Next up is 'Fawlty Towers'. A classic sitcom which starred the incomparable talents of John Cleese. Now I will not re-cap any of the main plot points of this or any other entry on this list because I am not google. If I was google I would be busy planning ways to take over the world and finding the perfect ice cream flavor. But since I am not you will have to go to google and search for it yourselves. I know that's a hard task but I believe in you.

Anyway, what I enjoyed most about 'Fawlty Towers' was the way that each episode was structured. Yes, each episode had a consistent thirty minutes of run time. They didn't have five minutes one episode and the next time they had 75 minutes. No they were always precise! They didn't dilly dally about with extraneous plots about Polly's whatevers or anything like that. Nor did they rush thtough plot points in such quick time that it left you scratching your head. And that's what I think this show will best remembered for: it's military like precision usage of time.

48- BIG BROTHER
Random Forum Member: Oh my, how sacreligious!

Me: Huh?

RFM: Big Brother being so low on a forum for Big Brother is certainly a bold move.

Me: I just liked other shows better. That's all. Big Brother is still a pretty damn good show and I hope it returns back very soon.

RFM: Humph. Yeah you say that now once I put the pressure on you.

Me: No, I actually meant it.

RFM: Yeah sorry, reepbot, but I'm sick of the lies. 30 days below deck!

Me: Wait? Am I on some kind of pirate ship?

RFM: Ohh looks like we got ourselves a bit of a smart arse here. 60 days!

Me: Who am i?

RFM: Asking a philosphical question? 90 days!

Me: I'm sorry.

RFM: Oh my lord! Now you are showing signs of weakness. 120 days!

Me: Ok, ok. I'll go.

Well...I dont know...I mean my life is my life and for the most part it is interesting and often fun but sometimes its boring and sometimes stressful/painful... I mean I AM grateful for it... But I guess a romantic comedy might just be MORE fun??!
Why a sigh?

I got ambivert. Which is weird but I think I know why. It is because I can be very reckless in some of my choices sometimes because I like to make quick decisions.

I got introvert
I don't rush into decisions but I make up my mind fairly quickly - I don't even know what that has to do with being an introvert lol.
Yes, I can see why though. I hate big crowds and the pressure to make conversation.
I remember my wedding day feeling anxiety all day because everyone was watching me and I hate that.
I don't think I'm as bad now as I was in school - shy to the absolute extreme. What a dork I was (still am probably).
At least now I can deal with new situations and people - just ease my way in though instead of jumping in being the life of the party.

It's funny isn't it.. I really don't like people watching me (constantly, a little while is ok/can be fun) And I really don't get why people would want to BE watched as an ongoing thing. Seems needy in the extreme to me.

A wedding seems positively terrifying I must say. Just the notion of being the centre of attention. Maybe it's not so bad though? I'm meant to be getting married next year but pretty keen to skip the wedding part.

I hate being watched. I always feel like people are watching me all the time and judging me. Best thing i can do is just ignore them and try to act normal in case they start writing stuff down.

A lot of women love it. For me I couldn't wait for the actual 'wedding' part to be over.

Yeah, my sister is also getting married next year and seems completely unphased by this whole centre of attention thing - she actually seems to love the idea. Well her and many other women I guess. Weird. I feel the overemphasis on wedding details is unhealthy when that energy should go into the relationship, but that may just be due to my own reluctance.

Haven't been a bride, but being a bridesmaid was slightly unnerving having everyone looking at them, us, me. Confirmed for me another reason why I didn't want to be a bride, lol.

Ugh, yes, to add on to this my sister wants me to be her maid of honour. I will do it of course but how much do I not want to.
