I just needed to have an intelligent conversation

Not sure you will get that here in this thread. But I am reading an interesting book about Barack Obama's time in the White House. It goes into detail about not only the transition period that the Obama team went through in hiring Hilary Clinton as Secretary of State and making sure Robert Gates stayed on as Secretary of Defense, but also how they were inheriting not only an economic mess due to the 2008 financial crisis but also two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. This is not to mention the fact hat top Republicans decided that they would block everything they could that the White House wanted passed simply for the fact that they did not like the President. Other issues examined include the personality and political style of Obama as well as the way he formed and kept relationships in Washington; the importance of passing health care; the killing of terrorist Osama Bin Laden; the annoyance of the birthing debate; the issues with Super PAC's; the turnover of staff in the White House; the Arab Spring protests; and many other iissues that closely detailed the intricate moments that made Obama's presidency.

Do you have political/politician crushes?
Obama is the sexiest leader the modern world has seen ever in my opinion, the new Canadian leader is hot.

And I will forever be in love with Paul Keating - sexiest mind and speaker we ever had, did you see him last night?
OMG he is so smart and so fun - how he spoke of what fun it was beating up Liberal pollies verbally.
Hilarious live interview with Kerry O'Brien, and the previous 4 part series.

The last of the real visionary leaders, makes you sad comparing today's lot - but Keating is good friends with Malcolm
Carter is a wonderful man, he achieved a lot as a peacemaker.

I don't have any political crushes. I rarely get crushes at all.

I don't have crushes as such, bit apart from Carter I have a lot of respect for Helen Clark - She was an amazing prime minister for New Zealand. There is also an up and coming politician in NZ Jacinda Arden who will be prime minister one day I suspect, and will be a damn fine one! Current Australian politicians it is hard to find any stand outs but then I am not entitled to vote in Australia so perhaps I have missed some gems!

No, you haven't really missed any gems, especially in the current political climate that is so toxic and uninspired.

That was one of the highlights of the show last night, hilarious moment that got a huge laugh and applause - Kerry asked about leaders today, think he mentioned Turnbull and Shorten.
Keating held his hand down near the floor, and said, 'Well the bar is set so low..."

Very true.

I am in a very safe Liberal seat.

I got black because i'm mysterious and emotional. I do wear black nearly all the time so I guess it is kind of accurate in that sense.
Somewhat accurate

You got: Dark blue

You are dark blue. You are a very calm person – you hardly ever allow yourself to get riled up, which means you’re great at taking control of situations. This means you are quite confident and comfortable being a leader. You are also quite a thoughtful person, both in the sense that you care for others and enjoy getting lost in your own thoughts, planning out how you’re going to do things in your head and how best to achieve what you want to.

Dark blue is a pretty good colour!

How come?

Not that it directly effects me of course, but Obamacare was a hot mess, the economy isn't much better. He can't help that he came in from a recession and he doesn't have finite control over the economy, but he has racked up sooo much debt and has kind of screwed Americans over a bit with inflation. That is just economically, socially he has done damage to both race and international relations as well as his involvement in battles.

He has done some good, don't get me wrong, and I am much more aligned with the democrats than the republicans. I think his "hope" campaign was his undoing a bit as he ended up having many empty promises and unfulfilled policies that were meant to be a big change post-Bush.
