Never again
PRESS GANG EPISODE 6: INTERFACE
Colin doing what he does best: manipulating a situation for financial gain.
Mysteries. I love mysteries. Trying to work out the answer, thinking about all the different clues, and watching the interactions between the various characters. There are of course mysteries with murders in them, and as you all know by my top 50 tv thing i like those type of mysteries the best because the stakes are high. There is a murderer that has yet to be caught and it is up to the private detective and the police to catch them. Those types of stories are great fun to read or watch. However there are also other mysteries where the solution is a bit more mundance, but nevetheless still interesting. Because what is important is not how big mystery is, or anything like that. No, the most important thing, at least for me, is the interactions between the characters. If you have boring characters who speak to each other without any real feeling then your reader, or at least i, will get very bored.
Seeing the computer on this episode it was interesting to think about how far technology has developed over the past 26 years. We now live in a world that is 24/7 technology with smart phones, laptops, tablets, and of course computers. Unless you make a deliberate and concious effort to shut yourself up from technology then you are surrounded by it 24/7. Seeing the jg with their brand new computer, it made me think about how interesting it would have been to be 27 year old me back in 1989. How I would have gone about living in an era where I wouldn't be surrounded by technology all the time. Would I still remember about the future and all the different technology? Although that would be quite tempting, I think I wouldn't be able to handle all that information. If I did ever get sent back to 1989 I would want my entire knowledge of the future erased. That is just me though. Others may think differently.
