It had quite a cult following with people that would be in their early 40's now, at least in NZ.
 
Anti affable? I don't know why anyone would be but if there is such a group I wounder if they are going to name themselves an antonym of affable?

Hipsters tend to go to trendy vegan little pubs and sit there with their portable record players, typewriters or knitting.
 
i remember in high school watching my fellow students drink coffee and i thought it looked so pretentious that i vowed never to become a regular coffee drinker in my life.

fair enough - when I work in Melbourne i work in hipster central and there is cafes there that do coffee tastings, and refuse to serve milk or sugar in your coffee - those places would make you cringe. Some tea drinkers can look pretentious too. I drink usually one coffee a day, often from a coffee machine at home or in the office sometimes from a cafe.
