30- Yes Minister
yes-prime-minister.jpg

Preparing to do absolutely nothing whilst been seen to do something.
A rather witty political situation comedy that still holds up today. The battle between the minister and those who really run the government was quite funny to watch. Watching Jim's idealism clash with the more self-interested nature of Sir Humphrey was always great, especially when Humphrey would go on one of his long sentences. I bet the actor had a hard time trying to remember those lines!

Glad it is on netflix.

29- Brooklyn Nine-Nine
th

Ready to leap into action.
A recent show I've watched, but a rather good one. Most of the jokes land, the situations are hilarious, and the characters are well developed. Easy to binge on netflix, which I did a few weeks ago. It was just so easy, another episode of brooklyn 99, another....

Please, check it out if you can, or not. Up to you, but it is quite the funny show. And who knows, I may have it in a higher position if i do my top 50 tv shows in three years time.

Strange thing is that Michael Schur, the guy who helped to create this, other show Parks and Recreation, is not something I can get into. I've tried too, but I just can't.

Ever catch RENO 911? A better cop farce, I tried Brooklyn and found it a bit forced

Check out Reno, it is hilarious

Genius show, and accurate......should be in your top 10

my top ten shows are way better than yes minister and showcase not only my genius taste in art and pop culture, but also my individuality that drives my creative spirit.

if tina arena had her own show that would be my number one television show of all time. and the second would be the 14 part documentary on tina arena. only on netflix.

what would be your top ten shows, kxk?

Not sure of a top 10, but AbFab, Seinfeld, Soap, Degrassi, Doctor Who, Eurovision, Young Ones. Monty Python, Countdown, Live Aid, The Avengers (1960s with Diana Rigg), Round the Twist, the original UK House of Cards (never watched the US one)
And....this show was scary, intense, cops love it

Phoenix

Phoenix is an Australian police dramatelevision series. Phoenix screened as two thirteen-part series on Australian
Broadcasting Corporation in 1992 and 1993.
The first series of Phoenix in 1992 recounted the investigation of the bombing of the Victorian state police headquarters, loosely based on a real case in the mid-1980s, the Russell Street Bombing. It was aided by extensive research into policetechniques and was lauded as one of the most realistic depictions of police investigation techniques, including both surveillance and forensics, as well as having an involving storyline.

The series was notable for its dark visual tone and for its no-holds-barred attitude to violence and language.

It spawned a second thirteen-part series, Phoenix II, in 1993 as well as a spin-off series, Janus, in 1994 devoted to the machinations of court cases.

The series was created by Alison Nisselle and Tony McDonald and produced by Bill Hughes and screened by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

The ABC have released Series 1 and 2 on DVD (Region 4) as a 4 DVD box set.

And documentaries, I just love documentaries and I will never remember all that I have liked, but this one had me riveted, and made me wish I had studied anthropology, have you seen it???....

Millennium: Tribal Wisdom and the Modern World
Millennium: Tribal Wisdom and the Modern World is a series of video programs by Harvard anthropologist David Maybury-Lewis. The 1992 documentary series was presented as 10 video programs, each 60 minutes long, and was released on VHS after being aired on public television. The series was designed to stimulate reflection and inspire a new look at what the modern world can learn from tribal societies as the millennium approached.

Detailed description[edit]
The documentary explores the values and different world perspectives that hold many tribal societies together. It presents tribal peoples in the dignity of their own homes and captures their customs and ceremonies with extraordinary photography.

Round the Twist is genius, love the theme song too

What was that kids show with tiny cute critters, live underground I think

Not really, there were several new avengers, is it the one with Joanna Lumley....???
I watched just for her
The real avengers with dianna rigg, was freaky/nuts....often utterly surreal, it is a match for doctor Who in strangeness

I remember loving the beginning & end, for the cool Rigg. My elder sisters Rigg was their hero and style icon
I think I was too young first time....only saw the stories much later

Could not stand that guy
But Lumley is divine as Purdey....the show isn't as crazy as the 60s, that series could have been written under the influence of drugs I think, it is bonkers
Still working on my kids books........boy talk about nostalgia, something I don't usually engage in - I like to look forward not back
It is taking me on a ride:)
