Page 87 is like a walk down memory lane for me...Hoodoo Gurus, Gary Newman, Depeche Mode and also I love Buttons (Sia)

Just watched one of the episodes of Countdown on Rage. I stayed up for this one as it's one of my favourite eras (March 1984) & it didn't disappoint. I enjoyed every song they played - including everything in the top ten and the UK & US top 5. Ah those were the days.

What kinda gems did the episode contain, Meglos?

I'm completely addicted to Train's album from late last year. Here's the title track.

Maybe it's because I turned the 4 something this week, that I'm going for the retro 'twofer'.

This song is one of the reasons I love Westminster Abbey. Was a time around 1986 I was trying to look like this dude, back when my face was as skinny as his. :)

Morten Harket is 50 and still hot, GB. :D

I'm devo a-ha are officially breaking up at the end of this year. Even more devo that Mags said in a BBC interview late last year that they'd be visiting Oz on their current (farewell) tour, and there's still no date(s) set. :(

I bought from one of those daily deal type sites a Record Player, so we've plugged that in and dragged down our old stack of albums. Ripper '83, Culture Club, Lionel Richie, and the Jacksons... my wife's old teenage obsessions.

And it's great to actually lie down on the couch and listen to an Album as the LP rolls around.
A very different experience to clicking on MP3's. You get into the music more. It relaxes you more.

(Arrrgh! No! Thriller is scratched! damnit.)
I'll have to hunt thru the op shops for more records.

Askil Holm laments the lost art of spending quality time to compose a thoughtful and considered hand written love letter, and the joy and excitement in receiving one.

Wise words, Askil. Wise words. :)
