Today I ........

Not today, but last Thursday I went in to Sydney Eye Hospital for emergency retinal repair and vitrectomy. I had flashes in my left eye.
Currently off work for a few weeks. Have a gas bubble in eye to keep retina in place ... Google it, it's weird. I'd never heard of it before.
The hardest part has being I have to lay down 20 hours a day. Ten of them I've assigned to bed time, the other ten on the sofa, the four upright hours, getting up, dressed, food times and loo breaks and going back to bed again.. Worst part is I am only allowed to lay on my right side.
Day 4 today.
I go to see the surgeon tomorrow and hoping to hear good news.
I haven't had any negative symptoms so fr, so I guess that's a positive.
So bed time at the moment is 6pm.
All my TV viewing is now day time. Thank goodness for recordings.
Oh dear Feb! Hope you're recovering well and your eye makes a full comeback.

I've had increasing floaters in the past few years, with a really bad one in my left eye which has been getting worse. I'd read that it was one of the adverse reactions from Covid vaccines, and for a while I considered it could be that, but because I spent five years looking after the cats at the pagoda I think it's more likely to be toxoplasmosis. Need to get to a specialist to confirm my suspicions and get onto some treatment.

I've had bad floaters in both eyes for years. It's been my biggest fear.
Now I hope my right eye doesn't go before my left eye heals!

Today I am now freaking out. Had a few little things with health. Couldn't quite track it down. Had an ultra sound. Was told, it'll be sent to your doctor in one to two days. Literally with in 15 minutes of leaving the imaging place told me to go see my doctor today. So yeah, freaking out. He hasn't got the results and will contact me when he does.

All the best with it up_all-night.
right now it seems to be one thing after another.
Let us know how you go.

I'm back to the retinal specialist next Tuesday. It won't come quick enough.

You've got a whole group of us to hold hands while we worry & cheer each other up. No worries!
Thank you!

I will just have to see where this leads. It's not nothing, there is something there. Had the CT scan today. Which was interesting but fine. Next week I'll find out the next step. Which will involve being referred to a specialist and a more invasive investigation. Trying to not think more than waiting for the next step.

I joke about how when I turned 30 by body just crapped out. That's what you get from not exercising. Then for most of my thirties I have regularly exercised, run, lifted weights etc. In good shape. Felt like I was undoing the aging. Hit 40 recently and with in weeks, "what's this pain."

Unfortunately, you never know what's around the corner.
Thinking of you, and all the best!
Things went pearshaped for me in my menopausal years, thank Christ those days are over.
Women used to say to me, we go though all this, what to men go through, and my simple answer was, us!

What I meant to say was, woman used to say, we have to put up with all this, what do men have to put up with? They have yo put up with us!

Well some good news on my front. The CT results were good and I don't have a "mass" inside me. So that's a relief. Still need some unpleasant further tests but it seems the worst fears are over.
…that’s really great to hear my friend… good luck with the further tests… cheers.
