Tim Dormer conflict with Channel 10

Not paying invoices is not a good look for Channel 10 given there’s been so much talk about their finances.
Yeah, it's usually a bad sign when a business isn't paying their bills. I hope things aren't at that stage or we may never get to see BBAU again.

Although if his invoicing is erratic as his social media posts the fault may not solely lie with Ten. Additionally you often find the bigger the corporation the later they pay, and any sole individual is always going to be bottom of the list.

I would also feel if you had such an awful experience on a show you'd be reluctant to go back and do it twice over, though of course possible it wasn't the first or second encounter with the franchise that caused problems - and of course BB Canada was a completley different production. I didn't watch his Seven series so don't know how he came across but often is the case with BB that the more of a fan favourite you are the first time around the more you risk returning to the franchise - but I saw no indication of the fanbase turning on him during his latest stint on the show.

From an "editing" point of view 10 are clearly going to be focusing on their own era and rightly or wrongly not what followed, so I would get why any Channel 9 winner might feel hard done by if they feel like they're edited out of the shows history.

His main grievance with 10 seems to be the treatment of reality TV contestants, which is fair. From what I can interpret there’s also grievances about surveillance capitalism (also fair) although he seems to think BBAU is promoting that, which I don’t quite agree with.

He also has grievances about more unhinged topics. For example he believes smart electricity meters make people sick.

He’s got a few worthwhile grievances in there but the execution is all wrong. Mixing in unhinged conspiracy theories isn’t helping either.

As someone who’s struggled a bit with mental health I think it’s pretty obvious he’s going through it. In hindsight some of my most unhinged and problematic moments on this forum were tied to poor mental health.

Was he working for 10 in an on screen capacity?

Just not the professional way to conduct such matters and feels like he is trashing the fanbase and alumni rather than his employer. If he'd started off with 'Hey 10, any chance of paying those outstanding invoices" he'd have got much more sympathy, but perhaps less attention.

Posting personal messages like that publicly is not on. He is clearly unhinged and just doing damage to himself, nobody will want to work for him after that..

Incidentally all those private messages appear to be messages of concern for his wellbeing, with him responding erratically and yes it would be worrying for friends and family.

His need to insist that it’s a normal autistic response makes me feel uncomfortable as a neurodivergent person. It sends the wrong message about what autism looks like to neurotypical people, autism looks different in everyone and I’m afraid his behaviour at the moment aligns more with psychosis than it does with neurodivergence

Yeah he’s just posted bit of a text thread and a lot of his responses to someone who seemed to be genuinely concerned and seeking to understand what’s going on don’t make a lot of sense. Like I said earlier it seems like he’s got some worthwhile causes he’s fighting for but his mania/psychosis is making it impossible to make a coherent argument/see that his current behaviour isn’t typical of autism.
