Every Friday night, they are coaxed into filling their glasses to the brim with alcoholic beverages and the producers get SOME footage worthy of interest.

Otherwise this series is dead and buried even moreso than it already is.

CONCLUSION:

Provide them with alcohol with EVERY meal.

Then you got yourself a show.

Otherwise this group are about as entertaining as a cunt-full-of-cold-water.
 
I reckon they get a shit load of footage worthy of interest, we just don't see it. The only stuff they show us is drama - when was the last time they just showed a normal conversation that doesn't involve bitching about someone or relationships?

The clearly have some strong bonds in the house (Lawson + Sam etc) so where the fuck are the conversations that solidified that? The only reason I know they are close is because Sam keeps saying it.
 
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the alcohol interactions, but I'd rather watch the everyday interactions. I want to hear their natural discussions, not the script fed crap they are given. I want to see who's hanging out with who, who's doing the cooking, who's the lazy one, who doesn't put the lid back on the toothpaste etc. Just the mundane stuff which can lead to issues in such confinement. At the moment, we have fauxmances and some bitchiness. If your going to have bitchiness against HMs please show us the background footage so we know where it stems from.

Yes. I have noticed this year there is more readily available booze in the house but it still isn't making for interesting viewing. Not even those clearly in the entertainment industry (Prya and Lawson as example) have a decent personality between them.

That said though, I reckon there is a shitload of editing of EVERYTHING going on. Case in point was when Leo first arrived and Lisa was sent in, Sonia gave a piss weak run down of their discussion. The one thing I noticed re the L&L interaction is that when it was time to leave the Sanctuary, Lisa near licked the champers glass clean...lol
 
I suppose it depends on how much they (individually) usually drink... For a HM like Lisa to become a blubbering mess in last night's Ep, they must have had a serious skinful... It was embarrassing to watch, IMO. I bet we don't see her drinking for a while.
 
They have been drinking and getting drunk. They're all pretty drunk when pashing in the spa. And Lisa was totally drunk when she argued with David in last night's show...
 
I think it's essential and not negotiable for us AND the housemates... ;)

I totally agree, and why I miss the live feed so much. The genpop may be interested in boozy interactions, or so TPTB think. It's of no interest to me, I'd rather hear and see the connections, the non-connections, why people are being nommed and why some aren't. This is just a bloody train wreck.
 
I don't think they should be provided with alcohol at all. I remember reading about the 2007 series, and Rebecca (a Mormon, like me) was given a hard time in the house because she wouldn't drink.

It didn't happen, but no, it wouldn't be the first. Marty and Jess were the first. Interestingly, IIRC, Jess was a few years older than Marty, and he had a girlfriend on the outside. He still went on to be runner-up.

I think the exact opposite. They should be (as the show was originally intended) deprived of all stimulus (except for a rare reward). This forces them to relate to each other, forces them to create their own entertainment, encourages them to have meaningful conversations and lets us see their true selves.

I don't think we will ever truly know everything that Cat and Lawson did in the Sanctuary.
