THE VIRUS 2020 - the good, the bad, and the ugly

@Drama ^ Going to be a lot worse economically if an outbreak gets out of hand and spreads for months than a short snap lockdown.

WA and Queensland perfect examples of snap lockdowns and acting quickly.

Two states that have lead the way during this pandemic with proactive leadership.

Lockdown should be one of the first things to do, not the last. If you leave it to last then it means lockdown will last for that much longer.

And not accepting criticism is just stupid.
With every lockdown there is an economic cost that also has to be considered but I guess it's easy for dole bludgers with no financial responsibilities to ignore that factor.

I agree but I don't think you've considered that NSW has proven its ability to suppress outbreaks without lockdowns. It failed this time but has been successful in the past.

Ok sure but why does the media need to point out that the driver was unvaccinated? It is well known that the vaccine ensures that you do not get the virus badly BUT does not stop the spread of the virus.

It's selfish to ignore the economic costs for taxpayers who might lose their businesses or jobs while you sit there taking welfare from your bedroom harassing people on the internet.

It's more selfish to ignore the health costs whilst you sit there trolling with your toxic views.

It's not more or less selfish. It's about having a balance and protecting people's health involves more than just protecting them from this virus. You don't understand that because you don't have financial responsibilities.

Think NSW just has been incredibly lucky until now. Previous outbreaks like the Northern Beaches cluster in Dec was easier to restrict with that one road leading into the area.

I disagree that it's just luck. Look at the number of international arrivals we get and there have been other clusters that have been more geographically challenging to deal with than the Northern Beaches. Remember Berala and the Crossroads Hotel?

Those ones dragged on though.

Why are you obsessed with my financial responsibilities? It's not healthy to get obsessed, young Drama.

That's how the virus works. The reality is that we're in a pandemic and can't be COVID 0. Like I said there has to be a balance between health and the economy. It's too costly to just lockdown every time there are 1 or 2 cases.

Will you be wanting to live in Singapore now? Apparently they are treating it like a common flu.
