THE VIRUS 2020 - the good, the bad, and the ugly

It'll be a cold day in hell before I take the advice of a bigoted fool like Prue.
Prue is cool. She'd make a good addition to 'Real Housewives...' which I have just started watching ... and now I need therapy. I also made an appointment for you, as a gift. It breaks my heart to see you suffer stage 4 of TDS

So true. Loony left.
There have been instances in Australian cities, Melbourne in particular, where foreign speakers where verbally attacked in the same manner. First by left loonies inside, then by Antifa outside. It's in their genes, it's herd mentality.

Ok here's another funny COVID-19 issue here in Victoria. Haven't we been told here in Victoria that there is no visitors allowed to your house during these harsh restrictions? Why the hell then is that damned NBN rollout still happening during this crisis in Melbourne. I mean I have been told that the landline will be disconnected in about a months time and that I have to connect to the NBN network before this cut off date if I still want a landline.

Doesn't that mean I have to let a tradie onto my premises to install the new wiring and connect the new NBN phone inside the house? Oh hang on I thought it was strictly NO VISITORS at the moment. I also received a letter from Tel$tra a few months ago stating that the existing landlines will not be disconnected during these times of the pandemic and restrictions. So why the hell are they now being forced upon us during this pandemic?

I can tell you I won't be letting anyone onto the premises to connect me to their damn new NBN service during these harsh restrictions and pandemic. What's the guarantee that the tradie that comes around to install isn't infected with COVID-19? I don't think households especially here in Melbourne at the moment should be forced to let a tradesperson onto the property just to keep their old landline going.
You can thank Turnbull for this whole mess. Be that as it may, it is wrong to force Australians to switch to NBN. But... has there ever been an alternative once the roll-out had started? The switch from analogue to digital TV was similar in nature. A friend, who was unaware of the impending switch, had bought a huge, heavy analogue set, only to be forced to discard it a few months later.

You don't fancy the idea of a tradie coming onto your premises - understandably so - but what if you need an electrician or a plumber?

Prue is an idiot.

People are fucking idiots and sometimes they need to be told to sit the fuck down, shut the fuck up, and stop being such selfish fucking dickheads. So yes, if that's what it takes, then I do condone it.
Ok, that's fine but maybe you misunderstood my post. I was referring to your comment under the vid Affable posted which seemed to indicate you were in agreement with the way the mob behaved?

If your switch-over is anything like mine was - no-one enters your house. I am with Telstra (unfortunately). They sent me a new wifi modem, NBN ready. All i had to do was swap it over. When we were made "live" I had to put the cord from the phone, that used to go into the plug on the wall into the phone plug in the new modem. (if that makes any sense?:P). My speeds tripled!

Also - spare a thought for the poor tradie, that has to go into random's home cos somehow he's classed as an essential service.

The small conspiracy theory part of me recons the NBN is being pushed again by the govt cos corporate still want their slaves working as fast as they can now they've been "forced" to let them work from home. Notice how foxtel gave all the channels for free? and those ads on the kids channels telling the kids to be good & relax & watch TV (so mum/dad can work). Made me feel ill.

I do often wonder tho, come next storm, when we have a 3 day blackout, you can't call anyone for help. Mobile would be flat by then. I wants my landline baaaaack!

It was the same for me at one of our houses but at the other one a NBN technician had to come and install a box which attached to the modem. I don't know why the two situations were different but I guess it depends on what type of NBN connection each area has?

Afaik, regardless of what plan you choose, you will require a new modem/router which connects to the 'NBN Connection Device' both of which are supplied by your provider and you cannot purchase anywhere else... for now at least.

I think this is the only post I ever remember seeing from you where you have used the f word

Who were the foreign speakers?
