THE VIRUS 2020 - the good, the bad, and the ugly

Prue MacSween's response to Chris Smith. She was talking about Dan Andrews and Annastacia Palaszczuk.

Prue MacSween: "Well they're try-hards and they're con artists and let's hope that people who vote for them will wake-up and realise that Andrews is dynamite for that state and if they, if they vote for that man again then they deserve everything they get, and if they vote for Palaszczuk who's run that government, that economy into the ground, then you know, again they deserve everything they get. Let's hope they're not stupid."

A permit system makes sense. I just think Palaszczuk's comment lacked compassion for people who have genuine reasons for being treated in a different state.

Annastacia Palaszczuk: "People living in New South Wales, they have New South Wales hospitals. In Queensland we have Queensland hospitals for for our people."

What if Gladys said something like that to this Queensland woman who had brain surgery in Sydney?

There is a hospital in Tweed so there is a local option
It looks like that hospital does do most procedures so it does make think there would have to be exceptional circumstances that would land someone in one of the hospitals accross the border. The hospitals should know how on average how often this happens in a period of time (eg on average this happens 50 times a year) and have made border control aware that execeptions would need to be made for these circumstances.

However I think we also are lucky that where we live the boarders are all the same country. If these borders were different countries (like europe) the chances of getting over the border without quarantining to see a family member etc would probably be a whole lot harder.

It'll be a cold day in hell before I take the advice of a bigoted fool like Prue.

I think Morrison should remove JobKeeper and JobSeeker. Victoria needs a wake up call.

Paul Murray said: "There was advice that the best and fastest place for that person to go, was to go to the Gold Coast and go to a Gold Coast Hospital."

He also mentioned that "she had to wait 16 hours to be airlifted to a Sydney hospital..."

If Paul Murray is correct, then I get the impression Tweed was probably not an option.

Maybe she got incorrect info?

What info would you suspect could have been incorrect? According to Paul Murray "she had to wait 16 hours to be airlifted to a Sydney hospital..." Do you think that's a faster option than the Gold Coast?

I am unable to find any articles about that particlar one to understand more about that case. This artcle gives context to the another case mentioned though
