THE VIRUS 2020 - the good, the bad, and the ugly

Well those two things have shown to be an unmitigated disaster.

Many people supported Trump and Brexit before the outcomes. My point is that it seems more socially acceptable to be openly left than openly conservative. I don't like Trump but that is my observation.

But there are many people who are openly conservative in Australia.

How does marriage protect children?

Until they changed defacto laws, about 10 years ago roughly......
State laws applied, widely different, Supreme Court kind of applied business partnership rules, that don’t fit the situation
Eg in WA defacto dads had NO rights to even see kids, women could run away to WA and hide
Family law was not available, family law did change to cover defacto kids in the end here in vic, not WA
Family law protects kids above everything and is so much better than trying to use old state common laws
Not perfect, but 100% better, family law is not stuck in the last century like a lot of legal jurisdictions

That doesn't invalidate the observation that it's generally more socially acceptable to be openly left or at least come across that you are! The immigration discussion is another example. The left-wing view is a lot safer for people to publicly align themselves to because it's more inclusive and less potentially offensive.

This is not supposed to annoy, I found it pretty interesting though - We have been hiking near the German-Czech Border and have come into Prague for a night before we drive back. There is absolutely NO SIGN of any quarantine measures or anything here. No social distancing, no masks, everything is open. Everyone is out and about.
It‘s as though there is NO CORONAVIRUS.

Have you proof of this?

I understand perfectly. I just think you are wrong.

I don't think you're likely to understand if you're not regularly having discussions about politics and current events with people outside your own family or this forum. Those things are not an accurate representation of broader reality.

I know this forum isn't reality. And I don't need to have regular political discussions outside my family to disagree with you.

You can disagree but your disagreement isn't justified. The whole point is about what is socially acceptable. If you're not socialising regularly outside your family then you likely don't have the right level of knowledge to make a reasonable judgement on the subject.

I still think I'm right in this matter.

My observations in the real world.

Observations of what? When I asked "How many times a week do you usually have real-life discussions about politics or current events with other people?" you didn't directly answer the question.
