True, the world is depressing and hopeless. Australia is turning into a police state because of our authoritarian leaders like gulag Gladys, Dictator Dan, and others.

On a friday they should all be doing home schooling/at school not hanging out in a park anyway. If it was in normal times they would be getting fined for truancy.
 
Nothing wrong with a bit of exercise and socialisation. Only those who hate freedom and fun would think otherwise. Like dictator Dan.

No idea what the difference between children playing at a playground and kids playing at a skate park are? Why is there a restriction in place on one but not the other? Bet the self righteous members on here can explain why one is okay and the other not. 🙄

If dictator Dan had his way he'd get rid of everything fun in Victoria until all that is left are beaches and nightclubs. No wonder loads of people are moving out of that police state.

Doesn't matter if you're on the left or right. I think it's good to see women involved in political discussions.

Interesting that some people on the left are only supportive of women who agree with them politically.

But when it's an educated conservative woman they can get quite nasty about them.

Well I definitely wasn‘t trying to be nasty and I don‘t really know enough about Peta and have never watched her show. I was curious that Affable has stopped though because he seemed to be quite the fan.
But yes. Sometimes you just need a break. I expect many journos etc are also feeling a bit jaded by the current state of the world. Which is probably making them a bit crap to tune into.
I don‘t really watch tv much at the moment. I do read though. But probably partly because I find reading less distressing than tv.

I know you weren't trying to be nasty. It was a general comment on something I've noticed outside this forum.

At least the Real Housewives of Melbourne is returning soon. It'll offer some humour and escape from the usual stuff on TV.

You could just not watch free to air TV instead of throwing a pity party.
 
Sorry, I'm just not a fan of people who complain and then do nothing about it. To me it shows weakness. But I shouldn't have said it. I'll save my advice for those more deserving of it.

Yes I was going to say if all parks and playgrounds are open now then what's wrong with a skate park? Also there is a massive cluster outbreak on some Melbourne construction sites between workers now and yet they don't impose any restrictions at all on construction even though there is obvious virus transmission between workers on construction sites. :rolleyes:

That even pre covid this country has had some police state laws. Maybe it is not turning into a police state so much it's that you are paying attention to things you had not before.

Do you guys have to wear masks everywhere at the moment, timmy?
we have to wear them in shops or PT, we don’t have to wear them inside at restaurants/bars or swimming pools etc but you have to be tested or vaxxed. I don’t know whether we are supposed to wear them in the street but many people don’t. I think they have relaxed that rule.
