The Tim/Ben thing.

I have to say that I am loving this thread and thank the OP for creating it! I wish I could like all the responses so far! The only person who knows what he's doing is Tim! Who knows the reasons behind this but considering what we saw on the daily show right at the end, I believe that what murf, kxk & insider06. BUT at the same time it makes you wonder why he would say that as there has been some backlash on the forums after what he said about Ben so maybe he legitimately is annoyed with Ben's poor me routine this week and just putting it out there. I mean, let's be honest, we don't know when Tim came in to the diary room right at the end of the show OR what day this happened. After all, the editing is not that great this year LOL!

Agree?

I love these ideas too, so interesting. I never looked below the surface on this one to see game play behind it. Is he trying to get Matt and Ed evicted or Ben? All the ideas make sense to me. Though yeah, if he is trying to get Ben out or keep him safe, it doesn't make sense to complain about someone who he thinks Australia loves. Then again, how does he get his strong competition Ben nominated continually if that is his goal? Nominate Ben himself, or try get others to nominate him, while he changes his mind and goes back to loving Ben.

Actually Drew and Tully seemed to be clued in to it, from their conversation by the pool. They said it's obvious what Tim is doing, that he has chosen his new person, because he is scared he can't beat him so they have to protect him. Plus we have Ben who is also guessing that Tim was trying to get a reaction from him for something.

wow, the OP is giving tim way too much credit. at this is from a tim fan. he's all about chameleoning himself into every group, and sowing chaos while he's there. he has no grand strategic plan or deep strategic moves. he's entropy.

Nah, that's just what he wants people to think. He wants to dent Ben's chances for real. His whole speech about how he actually does want to win after all, to stop someone crap like Jade winning, is all part of the game, a crucial aspect of his underdog narrative, but make no mistake; Timothy thirsts after the 250K as much as the rest of them, and he needs to take Ben down to get it. Do it, Timothy! Ben is a crap housemate anyway and he's playing the biggest game of all with his picture-talking, self-infantilisation rubbish. Drag him, Timothy! Take HIM DOWN...

Couldn't agree more. As much as I love everyone's opinions I think some people look way much into things. Tim doesn't know EVERYTHING. I can tell you right now that if Tim was out of the house and we asked him this question he would honestly say that there was no scheming or grand plan behind it. Even Tim admitted that he doesn't even understand himself!

haha i think Tim is just bored this week and wants alot of change and things to get interesting for him, so hanging out with the guys helps.

Id be going insane too, id be piling up all the furniture in the yard and climbing it to see over the wall !

Tim's tactic is to cause drama with the people he wants to keep in the house with him. He caused drama with everyone except Caleb the week Caleb got evicted and he's trying the same thing again this week with the people he wants to keep in the house. He's cottoned on that everyone he nominates gets evicted, so he is wondering if Matt or Ed will go this week. He's clever in that he's keeping Matt in particular on side so that he doesn't get too suss on his tactic. He knows that the more drama you cause with people, the more likely you are to have that drama featured on the daily show which means there's a better chance that person will stay because of the amount of exposure. When he realised that Matt and Ed had both realised the same thing and had "tried putting themselves out there more this week", he has suddenly upped the anti again and is trying to get Ben some exposure.

They are all too scared to call Ben out on his ridiculous behaviour because they know they'll end up looking the bad guy and Ben will just respond how any three year old child would.

Ben likes to act all victimised and naive and asexual (he acts very different when he's drunk..didn't he admit to watching lot's of porn?). i don't believe that's the real him. he does have moments where he's pretty confident and witty..i think that's closer to who he really is.

Exactly....what you see is certainly not the real Ben!
If he had once been a flight attendant...don't know the qualifications but seriously you HAVE to be able to deal with stressful situations...thank god I was never on a flight with him!

Watched a live feed segment where they had Ben try to find one of the housemates in the bedroom...Big Brother guided (or tried to) him with the old cold/warm/warmer routine....Ben had NO freakin idea what to do...even checked up at the ceiling at one stage!
It was like watching someone trying to teach a 3 year old who had been locked away with no human intervention...!

Get rid of him!

why ben, does he want him to stay?
hmm maybe he is a bit concerned about matt & ed both staying. if one leaves theres no more of that clique left who have always kept a guard up around him.

I don't trust Ben's sincerity. I'm glad at least one housemate (Tim) is onto him. This whole "why me!? I just wanna learn and grown and dance in rainbows made of smiles" crap is kind of getting on my nerves in regards to Ben. He cries at he most ridiculous things and uses the diary room as a weapon of talking other housemates down in a subtle way when he has not guts to say anything to their face. He's definitely in it to win and unfortunately a lot of Australia (I'm guessing younger audiences and mum types) are falling for it. If he does win i take my hat off to him cause he successfully played Australia.

He's said several times that Ben is his biggest threat so why would he be trying to get the public to vote for him? To me it looks like he's trying to reduce Ben's popularity by saying he's sick of him and can't stand him anymore.

I see it this way too.
Timmy's picking them off one by one and now it's Ben's turn as Tim has worked out that Ben is his biggest threat in the house.
Wants to get rid of him before the final three so he's not up against him in the final.

Yeah, he is playingthe game, and you have spotted his tactics. Why do they make you angry? They are annoying to watch, and I think quite transparent, but they reveal what he thinks of the Australian public and show what he thinks they will like. Good luck to him. Let's see how this approach pans out.

It will be disappointing if he wins, unless at the final show after he comes out, gets the check, and starts talking to Teens in his ocker voice.

Hopefully it's back to three nominees from next week, meaning a real chance to get Ben out. Tim would definately beat him - just need a third nominee who can pull in the votes - possibly Jade who had polled consistently high when she's been up, and would certainly benefit from being the only girl nominated.
