That is true, making sure the yes passes is important.
Who said I voted yes?

To all you naysayers on the thread, I finally submitted my vote.
They are not actually confused, but they are conflating marriage with a bunch of issues that not related in order to scare people into voting No. So I think the No voters choose to believe these things because it helps them to justify their vote in their mind. Think Tony Abbott: "...if you believe in freedom of speech, vote no" - um, WTAF? So some people will vote No simply because they disapprove of LGBTI but will say they are voting no because they care about freedom of speech.I think the no voters are confused about this fact
Don't do it. Don't do anything that could cause confusion or otherwise invalidate your vote. What would it achieve anyway? It'll just slow down the process of opening and counting the votes, and at worst, cancel your vote.what about some glitter and sparkles?
Literally all it is is changing the marriage act, I think the no voters are confused about this fact.

I dunno, I think a lot of older people are more cool about it than you'd expect.I feel like visiting some nursing homes and making it clear, oldies are being mislead horribly
Yeah not seriously going to risk it.Don't do it. Don't do anything that could cause confusion or otherwise invalidate your vote. What would it achieve anyway? It'll just slow down the process of opening and counting the votes, and at worst, cancel your vote.
I think this too. "All" it will change is the legality of people in an existing relationship being allowed to get married, but a lot of "no" voters seem to associate it with images of all their children and half the population suddenly turning gay and wanting to marry everyone. Possibly it hasn't been explained in simple enough terms for the layman to understand.
Yes totally, not sure if it's ignorance or being close minded or just straight out being hate filled but there are misconceptions for sure. It genuinely doesn't affect people's lives unless they are gay or have a close friend or relative who is.
Yes and if they have a relative or close friend who is gay, surely they want them to be happy, and surely that (should) override any feeling that "it's not right"? And if they don't know anyone who is gay, do they not have any empathy for those who do? You don't have to know someone in a particular situation to empathise with them and want them to have a good life.
