The missing pieces – extra information about the show/ housemates

Forum round-up
It’s the dreaded 3-day-blackout, so in lieu of any new footage here are a few bits and pieces that have been shared in various threads recently. :)

The nickname: Strategy Dave
David has kept his comments about the ‘truth’ behind the Strategy Dave nickname PG - saying that it came about following his time in the sanctuary with Tim, and that the HMs called him this when he returned to the house 'sans-beard'. What he didn’t say (but what has been revealed by Benjamin Norris on a Survivor Oz podcast), was that this apparently also involved some of the HMs joking that Tim Dormer ‘injected’ strategy into David while they were alone together (ie, in a non-PG way).

Arguments we didn’t see in the early days
Gemma and David ‘had a screamer’, and Gemma and Lawson had a huge one the day she left. Gemma: “I told him I was attention seeking on purpose and he started digging back to set me off.” They made up and it was actually a ‘fun fight.’

Gemma on the fun stuff with Priya
“On day one Priya and I were pressing on the house walls and doors to see if we could get in anywhere... We asked the other housemates to join us but they didn't want to so when we went outside I suggested to Priya that we hide from the housemates and say we were in a secret room... We went up to the treehouse and hid behind the bean bags and cushions... We were there for about 20 minutes when everyone started screaming our names in the backyard Jake even walked up the stairs to see if we were in the treehouse but he couldn't see us and said we weren't there... The housemates went in to have dinner and we crept down and walked into the kitchen and everyone asked where we had been we lied and said that we were in a secret room and big brother told us we weren't allowed to talk about it... Everyone went mental with questions and after dinner they tore the house apart looking for rooms... It was hilarious but bb told us we had to stop coz the housemates were tying the place... That's my fave Priya moment.”

‘Naked Skye’
According to David in some of his post eviction interviews, Skye has ‘stripped down’ when others were having interesting conversations. In his interview with Luke, David said that he didn’t witness this himself, but that he was told by Penny that it happened when she and Lina were talking. Gemma (when asked about it in her thread) said that she didn’t see this during her time in the house, but that Skye “would sing commercial music over other people's confrontations which would mean they couldn't air them so I could totally see her doing that.”

The dogs
Back when Ned and Kelly first entered, the house was told that two new housemates were coming in and would need a bed. HMs were told that this meant that two of them would need to spend the night in the fishbowl, and Jake offered for him (and Gemma, as his pair) to do it. The dogs entered the house, and Jake and Gemma were let out of the fishbowl 20 minutes later.

Secret Door?

There is no secret door outside the Diary Room - it leads to where the HMs ‘see’ Big Brother while they are in there.

Any new extra pieces been floating around over this weekend ,other than behind the scenes talk about BB next year etc. ?

Any new extra pieces been floating around over this weekend ,other than behind the scenes talk about BB next year etc. ?

I don't think so, unfortunately. Apart from a couple of 'preview' clips for tonight's show (that may or may not actually make it onto the show if the past few weeks are anything to go by  ). Just off to check Jump-in now. :)

Why the Big Brother Final 6 Has Shocked Producers
BB Executive Producer Alex Mavroidakis has revealed all but one of the Housemates left in the final 6 has come as a surprise to those behind-the-scenes.

"We never expected Skye to make it to the final six. She was put into the House to create noise and colour for the first few weeks, but we didn’t expect her to last. But as it turns out she’s been invaluable in the House and is unashamedly Skye. As for claims she’s faking it? Not a chance. You can’t act for over 70 days. And don’t buy into the idea she’s ‘dumb’ either – sometimes the way Skye words things and the complex ways she expresses her thoughts is almost poetic!"

"Ryan was always expected to do well and it’s no surprise that he was rarely Nominated by his Housemates. The reason Ryan was chosen by producers was to be the nice guy, and he’s done just that. Ryan comes from a great family, has an incredible (albeit sometimes crass sense of humour) and has gotten along with everyone in the House. At this point in time, I’d say he’s the favourite to win."

"Travis has been the most consistent Housemate this season. He’s still very much in the game - where the other HMs seem to be just waiting for the winners announcement now, Travis is still trying. As another HM we didn’t expect to last to the final week, his place in the final six is a testament to his good nature, likeability and determination to win Big Brother."

"Priya was another power player that took producers totally by surprise. As Priya herself says – she’s unapologetic. We figured she wouldn’t last long in the Big Brother game. But it’s a credit to the Australian public for recognising the value in honest and open players like Skye and Priya by supporting them through to the final week."

"I wish Penny had been in the House from Day One! She has been incredibly entertaining and likeable and had the perfect energy to inject to the House four weeks ago. My favourite moment of the show this year was Penny’s “period, period, period” rant in the Diary Room – it had me in stitches!"

15bddaa1606d436584e7c82902855c22.ashx

"Lina’s a Housemate that has it all. Well-spoken, well-educated and gorgeous to boot – Lina’s been on producers radars for a while. She does have an uphill battle (as does Penny) heading into Finale – the history of the format shows an Intruder win is unlikely."

“Sinful” HMs Strut Their Stuff For House Mirrors
The Housemates are so vain, we bet they think this show is about them.

Whether it be checking their false lashes, popping a pimple or even checking out their butt - it's obvious most of the Housemates are in the midst of a love affair with the House mirrors. But what's worse - enjoying looking at yourself in the mirror, or enjoying watching someone enjoying looking at themselves in the mirror? You decide!

Ryan and best mate Sam met 15 years ago at the local soccer club and ended up at the same school together. Sam says it’s Ryan’s cheekiness that he appreciates most: “He’s always willing to make light of any situation.”

Sam’s favourite memory of Ryan: “Ryan had been given protective bear spray as a Secret Santa present at his work. He accidentally opened the spray, which we all thought was harmless. Little did we know all four of us would soon be in the bathroom for two hours. In between all of us vomiting and trying to breathe, we couldn’t help but laugh.”

Sam on why his BFF should win Big Brother: “Ryan hasn’t gone into the House with a hidden agenda,” Sam says. “What you see is what you get. We have seen him on stage singing and dancing, and he’s no triple threat, that’s for sure. He’s just a laidback, honest bloke.”

Lina and best friend Nicole have known each other for 18 years when Lina enrolled at Nicole’s primary school. “I was given the job of looking after ‘the new girl’ and we’ve been besties ever since!” Nicole says.

Nicole’s best memory of Lina: “Our overseas trips to Europe together with our friends; especially the week spent sailing around the Croatian islands on the Yacht Week. There were a lot of laughs, a lot of partying and we made so many great friends!”

Nicole on why her BFF should win Big Brother: “Within her short time in the House, Lina has managed to get to know the Housemates and become well liked inside and outside the House. It would also be great to see her be the first Intruder to ever win!”

Skye and colleague-turned-bestie Debbie may’ve only met a year ago, but it was love at first sight for the pair. “She is such an open-minded person with such a kind soul,” Debbie says.

Debbie’s best memory of Skye: “A memory that will always stand out to me is the day I got to work late because my partner and I had a fight. I was crying (and I never cry) and Skye used the last couple of dollars she had to go and buy me flowers to make me smile and feel loved.”

Debbie on why her BFF should win Big Brother: “Skye deserves to win because she is doing this for selfless reasons; her family is her motivation for this whole journey. She certainly is one of a kind – she is so great that the world deserves to meet her!”

Fellow dancer De’arne (pictured here in green) met Penny more than 10 years ago and can’t pinpoint exactly when they became besties. “She is such an amazing and caring person,” De’arne says.

De’arne’s best memory together is Penny’s priceless reaction to De’arne’s “surprise wedding day”: “Penny was so emotional she couldn't even string two words together on the day as she was crying 'happy tears' so much."

De’arne on why her BFF should win Big Brother: “Penny works so very hard at what she does… Everyone who knows her can see how determined she is and that is something we all admire about her. She deserves this 100% and I'm backing her all the way to the finish line.”

Pallavi met best friend Priya four years ago at a social event and instantly fell in love with her “unapologetically Priya” outlook. “I love how strong she is and that she does not blindly follow the crowd,” Pallavi says.

Pallavi’s best memory of Priya: “I will always remember the caring Priya who brought food to my door when I had hurt myself. She cooked for me almost every day until I recovered.”

Pallavi on why her BFF should win Big Brother: “She is ‘Queen Prisus’ who has shown her true self to Australia… She is honest, intelligent, and has been an entertaining and worthy Housemate. Besides, she has been through so much in life and seen so many struggles; it is time she gets what she truly deserves.”

Dale met Travis 16 years ago while playing Aussie Rules football and says he's loyal to a tee. "He's always one guy you can count on for a good time!"

Dale on Travis' new girlfriend - Aisha: "She seems like a really easy-going, kind girl that would fit into our friendship group well! Definitely looking forward to meeting her."

Dale on why Travis should win Big Brother: "He has been the most genuine person throughout the entire show. The Trav I see on T.V is the Trav I see in my everyday life. The House would of definitely been much more boring without him."

Howzat! Housemates Slog It Out In KFC Cricket Challenge
It looks like EVERYONE's an athlete when there's a food reward on offer in the BB House!

To win a KFC banquet, Housemates wielded a cricket bat with aplomb, clamouring to get 20 balls in the target before time was up. Failure meant Big Brother depleting their pantry by 20 food items. Now that’s just not cricket!

On being Evicted so close to finale…
Not gonna lie: it feels like crap. I’ve always said it feels like the slip between the cup and the lip. But at the same time I’m really glad that I was able to pick that cup up and bring it that close. So even though it does feel like crap, it’s bittersweet because I’m also happy that I made it this far.

On beating frenemy David…
I’m really happy to beat David! Can I just put it out there? It’s amazing. I’m sure that he hated it.

On rubbing people the wrong way…
I entered the House knowing I’m not everyone’s cup of tea. Or as I like to call it, not everyone’s bowl of curry. Not everyone likes me. I entered knowing that I won’t be the most loved Housemate in the House, but I entered knowing that I’m going to be me and people will see through it. I do grow on people.

On her three-part strategy…
One of my strategies was obviously to be unapologetically Priya. It was also to say that I am here to win, and I am here to play the game, and that’s what I’m gonna do. It’s like saying that you love footy but you don’t wanna kick the ball, because that’s not gonna happen. You have to kick the ball and kick it as high as you possibly can. And the third was to make sure that I suss out people’s relationships and then try and play my own game. Without being a really bad person.

On who she underestimated…
I did pick Skye as my competition quite early on. When she got saved, I got saved, and I could see that people were liking who she was. But due to the friendship that we had created I never wanted to put her down or pull her down in any way. Because at the end of the day she’s a great friend of mine … I did not see Travis as competition. Maybe I should have. Ryan definitely flew under the radar, and he did not fly under my radar because I could see it happening. I was watching him like a hawk. That sounds so bad. But I was.

On who deserves to win…
I am definitely going to say Skye, and that’s not just because of my friendship with her. I think had I been an audience member, even though there is a huge age gap between me and Skye – people look at us as completely different people – there is something really beautiful in her. It takes a while to see but it is there. She has grown in this journey as well. And I think that’s one of the biggest things about this show. You have to grow as a person.

Exclusive Clips: "We Were Fresh Toys" Lina On Life As A Big Brother Intruder
One of the latest Evictees dishes on the honeymoon period, conformity and crass jokes!

On coming so close to the grand finale…
It’s a little devastating to be out just 24 hours before the final. It would always be nice to be there on the final night to be able to experience the same emotions that everyone else is going through, and the adrenaline and the excitement. But I have to say that to make it this far, I was so excited.

On coming in as an Intruder…
It was easier than I thought it would be to break into those circles initially because it seemed like at that point in time they were a little bored of each other, and so it was great for them to have some fresh toys to play with … So it wasn’t so hard to get to know them but I think once that initial honeymoon period was over, that’s when it got harder.

On conforming…
I think the most challenging thing I experienced inside the House was honestly just trying to fit in once the dust had settled. It was just one of those things where everybody had their friends already, and being different and not wanting to conform I guess to everybody else, it was a definitely tough situation to be able to really mesh in with them without losing your identity.

On crass humour and fart jokes…
It’s just not charming! I don’t know how else to put it!

On what she’d do differently…
I’d come in as an original Housemate. Just so relationships could happen naturally.

On who she DOESN'T want to win …
I would hate to see, maybe, Ryan win!

Exclusive Clips: "Every Day Was Weird" Penny Sums Up Life In The House
She was one of this year’s biggest and best surprises who entered the House as “The Body” and left as “The Face”. As 2014’s longest surviving Intruder, 31-year-old dancing queen Penny won hearts both in and outside the House but fell to Big Brother’s brutal Triple Eviction just 24hrs from the finish line.

On making it to the final five…
I wasn’t expecting it at all. I only packed for 10 days! So I completely ran out of clothes – I had nothing to wear! Being an Intruder – I never expected to stay there for a month.

On crying on stage with Sonia…
I feel a little bit embarrassed, because I’m supposed to be good in front of large audiences… To have people so excited to see me was so overwhelming and so nice… This is the first time I’ve done anything that’s just about me being me, and not about my dancing.

On preferring Ned and Kelly to some of the Housemates…
I’m not going to name any names, but it was just like unconditional love [from Ned and Kelly]. It’s going to sound terrible, and I don’t want people to not like me, but I often think that dogs are better than people. Sometimes they really are… I think I would’ve done even better if I was in the House with 18 dogs.

On the world inside the House…
It was amazing, but it was really weird. Every day was weird. It’s weird not knowing what the time is; not knowing anything about what’s happening on the outside world.

On her famous Penny faces…
I’ve always said I’ve got an overactive face, but I didn’t know I pulled faces that were that atrocious!

On being filmed 24/7…
You forget that the cameras are there, you really do. I did see a snippet of me sniffing towels…

On who deserves to win…
Honestly, I think Ryan needs to win. He’s a nice guy, and he’s smart, and he’s caring, and he’s funny… He was kind of just like a normal person, and the winner needs to go to someone who’s just a normal, natural person.

@Oswin I've said it before, but as this season wraps, THANK YOU so much for everything. I've loved everything you have posted and all the effort from yourself, @Luke Blundell , @Veronica2005 really made it for me this year. THANK YOU. XXXGK

It feels a bit sad that it’s all coming to an end, but I have really enjoyed it as well. So many people (yourself included, and too many to list!) have made it a great forum to visit and be a part of. XX
