...the many things that you remember as a kid or teenager...

...I don't know what happened but my post above should have looked like this... I tried to edit it and it blocked me out... anyhoww... this is what it was supposed to be as...

Lol!!! You were a menace. These stories are hilarious! I would have hated to be on the other end of your pranks lol

...haha!... me too lol!...

yeah he should have been named Dennis!

...hahahaha!... that was my dads name hooleydooley!...

Was that at Homebush? Could have been the tip, they built the stadium on?

...no... it was the Riverstone Meatworks near Windsor NSW... there was a big fire in it once and a mate that used to be in one of my classes died because he was trying to free lambs that were about to be slaughtered because apparently he didn't think that they should die in such an inhumane way... they were all trapped in the building... a big roof beam came down on him and killed him instantly the poor guy... he was a good mate too... that really cut into me at that age... he had freed most of the lambs too from what we were told... he went back for the last few stragglers that were panicking apparently... it's such a sad result... cheers.

My folks got a betamax. We used to go to the video shop & we had a teeny tiny section of videos to choose from and the rest of the shop had rows and rows and rows of VHS.

I still have my Atari. Don't know if it even still works or not. I remember being sick off school and playing pacman all day until I clocked it. The score just turned back to zero & I was crushed. These days I coulda took a screen shot lol

...oh you poor soul!... that would've been embarrassing for sure... it would've been like you were looking in the 'poor man's' section while the 'rich ones' were checking out their endless variety of choices surely?... oh the inhumanity of it all!... the crimes we have to pay for the deeds of our parents bad choices!...

OMFG @Mr Stickyfingers that is amazing haha!! Your Mum & Dad sound like absolutely fantastic people. I'm really enjoying reading about your escapades. Much laughing going on here. Brilliant stuff & brilliant thread :D

So many funny stories in here. LOVE IT!

...my mum and dad were both great to be honest... I really can't say that they ever really made me angry enough to hate them for anything... as I said... living with my dad was like living with Sherlock Holmes... he was always one step ahead of me even though he never really found out about my misdeeds as a thief in England as a kid.... (or at least never said anything about it unless I got caught one day... now that would've been a different matter methinks!... lol!)...

...yes shaydee... this thread has taken off like wildfire!... I'm really surprised with it to be honest... some of the memories are bloody hilarious and the little 'I remembers' bring back so many memories to me too that they then unleash other things that happened to me lol!... it's like a snowball effect when people say 'this or that' which invoke more stories doesn't it?... cheers.

Well, funny thing is, we all knew which Teacher drove what car so our victims were targeted accordingly.

Oh I swear our school was very much like St Trinians.

..hahaha!... I always loved those movies... I had a strange affinity with them for some reason lol!...

You know, you could publish all your shenanigans and it would be a #1 bestseller.

That poor Teacher (cheeky you).

...haha!... Jessey_girl said the same thing... as I said to her... I could incriminate myself lol!... although it would be a fun thing to do I imagine lol!...

...well my survival instincts kicked in while 'on the spot' so he ended up being a casualty... 'collateral damage' so to speak in order to get myself out of the shit lol!... I did admire him in a strange sort of way to be honest for him having the balls to tell my parents just how it was.. sadly for him... it was ME that he was talking about after all lol!... cheers.

Sticky I have been meaning to ask you this for AGES, and maybe the teenage years plays a part in this, but I am always amused with your handlename (seriously, the teenager in me giggles every time) where did your name come from?

...hahaha!... there are actually two reasons as to why I called myself... "Mr Stickyfingers"... when I had to choose a name for myself in other forums before I discovered this great one I was at a quandary as to what to name myself... in England when I was a horrid little kid I was in a gang form the age of 10 until the age of 14 until we emmigrated to Australia as you probably already know from what I've written on other threads...

...in England or should I say more specifically ... in the East End of London... Cockney London... which was also a slum area at the time... "Stickyfingers' was a nickname for a 'tea leaf=thief'... because everything that you touch ends up 'sticking' to your 'fingers' and then ends up going into your pockets... if you were a really good thief... (I was the best in my gang)... you acquired the honour title of 'Stickyfingers'... (master thief)... it was a proud badge honour to wear!... I was so proud of myself indeed!... lol!...

...the other reason that I chose... "Mr Stickyfingers" (which is probably for the subconscious reason as to why you giggle at the name) is because when I had a girlfriend when I was about 16 or 17ish my girlfriend at the time called me it because apparently I had a total fascination with a certain part of her anatomy (let's call them her... 'lady parts')... and she decided that that name suited me perfectly lol!... so as you most probably suspected mutleyp... that was another reason as to why I chose it... it just seemed... I dunno... 'just so perfect' a name for me to choose for myself at the time lol!...

...the silly girl accidentally called me 'Mr Stickyfingers' at mum and dads house at the dinner table once and my mum jumped on it and asked me why she called me that... I couldn't exactly tell her about me being a thief in England so as not to incriminate myself so that explanation was out the window so I HAD to tell my own mum about the 'anatomy meddling' reasons!... all she said to me was... "you dirty little bugger!... I hope that you're not doing any of those things in my house when you're in that bedroom of yours Peter!"... my response?... "of course not mum!... I would never do that!"... (I always hated telling a bare-faced lie to my mum)... god bless her...

...so yeah!... there you have it my friend lol!... (I guess a few people will never look at me the same way now eh?)... but that's the whole truth about the name lol!... I'm guessing that your name is something to do with 'Mutley' the laughing dog in the 'Whacky Races' cartoons of yesteryear but I'm bound to be wrong mutleyp lol!... so how did you get your name my friend?... then again... how did everyone else get theirs?... lol!... (now there's a thread in itself lol!... there are 17,495 of us on this forum afterall lol!)... thanks for asking the question lol!... cheers.

lol laughing out loud at work is probably not a good idea but I can't help myself.!
I read your story, specially about the 'anatomy meddling', then I look at your avatar with the wide open mouth in the middle of the hand!! Oh dear. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::laugh::laugh::dead:

Wow there's a term I haven't heard in a very long time. Oh my I am like Insomniac and trying so hard not to burst out laughing at work (screaming laughing on the inside is very hard). Ooh wee what a story that one is re your nickname and telling mother that. :woot:

Pure genius..

P.S. My nickname was given to me by schoolmates in high school.

It'd be fun if we could post pics of us as little kids. The fashion was tragic in some of mine that's for sure.

...I remember as this being my earliest childhood memory... it was my uncle Fred holding me for the photo of me in Trafalgar Square in the middle of London... I was terrified of the pigeons when they landed on me to be fed... I remember that time with so much clarity that it's ridiculous lol!...

...get a load of this outfit that I was wearing in about 1954 methinks... what were my mum and dad thinking dressing me like that?????...I was a BOY for crying out loud!!!... I sometimes wonder if they dressed me to look so 'innocent' because they may have both had premonitions or something that I was going to be a little horrible bastard of a kid or something?... (karma?)... lol!...

...I asked my mum as to why she dressed me in such cringeworthy clothing once and she got really annoyed with me and said... "do you realise that when you were born and we were finally able to dress you in 'proper clothes' (whatever that meant?... I'm guessing that it meant our 'Sunday's Best' clothing)... that we spent almost all of your father's weekly wage just to buy you that outfit?... we went without a lot of stuff that week just so you could have something really nice to wear for a change!... so don't tell me that you looked silly in it!... you should appreciate what we went without just so that you could wear it!... (or words very similar)...

...I was well and truly told wasn't I?... apparently they went to 'Harrods' in the posh part of London to buy the outfit... it was the poshest posh store and the most expensive store out of all of them... I felt like an ungrateful little brat at about 18 when I said it lol!... we were quite poor way back then... (living in the slum area of London should've been my main clue lol!)... I guess we forget what our parents give up lots of things to enable us kids to have a better life eh?... them emigrating to Australia was for us to have a better future as you can guess...

...so yeah... I was well and truly told by mum... lol!... no worries... I deserved it for being so ungrateful methinks lol!... cheers.
