The hate for Estelle - where did she go wrong?

Kaz- what knowledge of Estelle has lead you to believe that she chose a particular personality in the house for the sole purpose of winning bigbrother? Because your posts do seem to indicate that you have behind the scenes knowledge of bigbrother.
 
I think her teaming up with Ryan, then her antics with Ava and the last week with Michael in particular have lost her some support. I mainly think it's some of her over zealous fans that have hindered rather than helped her.

Yes, I agree. But to be fair, I think a lot of those 'over zealous' fans must be young. You can tell their young age by some of the posts they write. Besides this forum, I know NOBODY voting to save Estelle. So much so that people are astounded that she could possibly still be there. People are puzzled that she has got through. And by the sound of the audience tonight and last night, they sounded shocked too. I dont like estelle at all but i hope if she does win she doesnt get too much grief from the public and on the media junket. Just a hypothetical here but what stops betting agencies voting to save to cover their bets. They would have made a heap of money tonight with Michael leaving.

Zoe??? If you say Ben, I may understand a bit but ZOE? LOL.
 
Not sure why the housemates dislike her,having worked with lawyers I have a guess or two as for the general public, if you aren't an Estelle fan you probably haven't developed a confectioner with her and even though you may not like the the rest of the Hms inside the other two tend to illicate some kind of response in general. Estelle is still much like the blank slate she walked in as. If you're a fan you can attribute numerous virtues,if you're not it is befuddling because after 80plus days you don't know her. We know Ben and Layla warts and all. All that said I was a Michael fan and am going to see if db will actually let me vote for layman now that I've changed my currency to aux dollars.
 
I never get why the HM hated her, but I can understand if they do. However, I don't get why the public hate her, I mean what because their favourite was vote off? I mean I don't like Ben but I won't boo him when he leaves.

Yep, Zoe cares so much for other people that she'll boil their bunnies for them.

Just from reading what Alex Mavroidakis (Executive Producer) said about how the final 7 were picked to be on BB

I know how the working of Biggest Loser work. (had a friend work on the show for years & he knew people who worked on BB)

Yes the shows have their favourites & they will show them in a good light & yes their favourites can change depending on the circumstances.

What makes you think that old ladies have underwear drawers and that, if such things actually existed in reality, they would smell of lavender ?

Like, is this something you have empirically determined or is it more a case of mere imagination ?

I'm guessing that she was too nice. Australia has a huge tall poppy syndrome problem. Unfortunately, because I did like Michael before tonight it also has a 'save my arse syndome' which showed itself when that disgusting audience showed its fangs and Micheal caved. I have never been so disappointed in a realtity tv show contestent as I was tonight with Michael. If anyone from BB 2012 deserves that wonderful girl, it is the one who has stood up for her for weeks. Yes I mean Ryan. And this is from a Mistelle fan from way back.

I keep saying, only one group of people were booing last night. Everyone else cheered. Every housemate will have a few people that dislike them.

Seems like people are right- Estelle isn't "Keeping it real!" I don't believe we've seen any of the intelligence that Alex talked about in the mag article.
 
Estelle is an intelligent person who has had to deal with depression and some obviously complicated family issues. If you're intelligent and sensitive it can make you a bit edgy (in more than one sense of the word) and this can make some people feel uncomfortable, so to some extent you conceal it or hide behind other personas. I went through a phase like that myself in my early 20s.

Unfortunately, the vulnerable and the 'different' are always a target for certain types of people, especially here in Australia where being 'down to earth' is considered to be the single most admirable character trait. (To me, that can be a euphemism for boring as bat's shit!)

Estelle has a good heart and I just hope that the ostracism she has experienced won't crush the individuality out of her. The world needs people like her as much as it needs other types. Vive la difference!
