Yes, it's a reworking of the Swedish series. It got 4m viewers last night, C4's biggest drama debut this century. Most tellingly the peak audience was only just above the average meaning viewers stuck with it throughout, and hopefully will return next week. I honestly didn't see one negative comment about it on Twitter last night and the critics all seem to love it. "Sci-fi with a heart" is a comment I've seen on a few reviews today and it sums it up well.

Re: Utopia. Had an interesting premise and it had it's fans but really it should never had got a second series having fallen from 1.8m to 600,000 in the first, with the audience falling to as low as 300,000 in the second.

Sounds promising, I'll give it a go then. :) But I'll wait until the first season has concluded (or at least 6 episodes in) to decide to invest time on it.

I no longer watch any TV series from when the first episode airs. There are so many series constantly being created you just never know which one will last the distance and maintain its quality or gradually get better/worse to make it worth your while.

Top Gear has confirmed it's new lead presenter will be broadcaster Chris Evans, with Hammond and May also now confirmed as leaving. Probably the best host they could have wished for - he has a broad appeal and he should fit in quite well (without being a like for like replacement for Clarkson) and he'll also be one of the executive producers. He's also confirmed one of his co-hosts will be female, tipped to be Jodie Kidd.

Sense8 who is watching? I love it, my favourite character probably is Sun... she is such a bad arse.

Yeah I watched it, still in two minds about it. It's very well produced and I liked all the sense8s, and the way they were getting to know each other was great. Some great individual storylines and scenes too. All that I really liked. But do we really need another mysterious evil scientist show?

I hope they do a second series though, would like to see where this goes. Apparently the Wachowskis have a 5 season story all planned out.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.... Hannibal has been axed...

Can I please marry Sam Heughan? :shy:
No he is mine... Hehe
Just a bit of warning, the last 2 episodes are very very conforting, I found them extremely hard to watch... I was practically watching it with my hands over my eyes peeking through occasionally to check if all the bad stuff was over.

I suppose you did see him first :(

Thanks for the warning. :)

I just read that Wheels from Degrassi Junior High died in 2007 but his family only learned of his death in 2012. He died of causes 100% consistent with his character in Degrassi. Spookily similar.

Is that Eddie Maguire quiz show always so blatantly rigged?
A woman was about to lock in her answer, and with a few seconds to go Maguire hooted "HAVE ANOTHER THINK!", so she changed it to the correct one.

He's always doing that. Clearly part of his job is to help them get to some sort of reasonable prize when they're struggling.

Well we're six episodes in and Humans is proving to be one of the best UK dramas of recent times. It really is superb - feels so original and is written and acted superbly - we really shouldn't care this much about machines! It has been recommissioned too so if you've not caught it already I really would recommend you do. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Yeah I’d forgotten that British series are usually about 6 episodes long per season. I’ll give it a go right after True Detective S02 finishes, the concept does sound interesting. Had been meaning to watch the Swedish original but subtitles really annoy me.

So lets talk about those Emmy noms shall we?

Well lets do the good first....

YASSSS.....

Finally Tatiana has been recongnised for her work on orphan black, fucking hope she wins.

Now the bad...

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? Why no love for the leads of the Americans or for my man Mr Mandy Patinkin. That scene from last season of Homeland where Saul is trapped in a town in Pakistan on the phone to Carrie is mind blowing. Saul goes from wanting to end his life to trying to save himself from the bad guys, then carrier realises that she can't get Saul out so she lead him into the enemy. The acting from Mandy in that episode is on a whole other level.... Seriously fuck that dude from dumb and dumber. S3 of The Newsroom was garbage..... And screw Kevin Spacey, last season of HOC was worse than under the dome....

Oh well, I can't stay angry for long.... at least Kyle Chandler and Ben Mendelsohn both got noms for Bloodline.
