My tv menu is mainly pommie at the moment -
Would I Lie to You
QI
Fresh blood/or meat, can't remember but I love it
Chat shows and etc

Buzzcocks & Mock the Week
so was spicks & specks based on Buzzcocks?
and is Mock the Week copying Goodnews Week, or did we copy them?

Hey a poll just opened at realityravings for Best Reality Show of 2013. I voted for Big Brother, with Great Australian Bake Off as my 2nd preference.

BB is winning as of right now. Go vote!

Kxk, last night I watched Would I lie to you, QI, Adam Hills Stand up all in a row. It was a good night of viewing! I'll look out for the other shows you mentioned. Have never seen them.

OMG don't you love it when you get Would I Lie & QI. And even better when your whole night is just ABC English comedy.
I adore most of the panel on the lies show, especially the really posh guy I love him,and I love it when they have Pineapple Dance Studio guy(love that show).

I also like that young pommy guy who has his own news/comic thing, can't remember his name, on a 7 digital station.
I go hunting for little pommy shows, they are the best for late at night in bed fluff viewing.
And if that fails, iview some Doctor.

They have started showing the old Jonathan Creek, and Davies is so young and fresh faced:) I love him, and would love him to be a Doctor one day :)

qtkt Buzzcocks is tonight 8.30 ABC 2, followed by another gem I forgot about - Derek, if you haven't seen that you must watch it's the sweetest little show ever.
Ricky Gervaise, being a kind soul in a nursing home, it's just adorable - I know that sounds hard to believe but do try it. Carl is in it too.

Thanks for the heads up kxk. Started to watch Buzzcocks and then the phone rang,........ missed half of it and Derek. Will try again next week. But some of that English stuff is superb. I guess I have to say one of my favourites was the Vicar of Dibley - but has anyone caught the modern clergy comedy, Rev? As clergy myself, I find it absolutely hilarious BUT a little too close to the truth sometimes. At least Dibley was mostly fantasy with a few honest bits chucked in.

Oh damn. Such a shame you missed Derek - and I was sitting there weeping at the end thinking, oh qtkt will love this I do hope you are watching.
It is such an unexpected gem - it is about goodness. Can you believe that, a TV show that in it's essence is kind and is about goodness.
It is charming & profound and wonderful.

Where do I find Rev?Sounds fun, I love dibley, especially that Christmas episode where she eats everywhere for fear of hurting feelings, and the one where she sticks her face in the chocolate fountain.
Did you ever watch Father Ted? OMG that is nuts & so much fun - and does remind me of some priests from childhood, some were very eccentric.

I'll try to remember to watch it next week kxk. It sounds good.

Rev was on ABC1 at the beginning of this year. There were only about a dozen episodes shown from the first and second series. There is a third series being made. Here is just a tiny taste of Rev:

If you think it might appeal, you can watch all of season one here http://www.ovguide.com/tv_season/rev-season-1-172361 and you will find season two at the same place.

Thank you qtkt, that looks like my kind of show - love the little smirky girl interrogator - and oh crap, my girl school class interactions with priests were a bit naughty sometimes too.
We were kind to the good looking one, and we planned jokes with the bogan one - the nuns banished him he affronted their snobby, snooty façade, so he ate with us.

Derek is repeated tonight at 10.53pm, ABC 2. It is a wonderful touching sweet show, the end is gorgeous and made me weep. qtkt in case your interested, this is the final.
It's not always quite so sad, and it is bitter sweet - it's usually a bit more comic in the mix.

Does anyone else watch Derek?

Oh what a shame . Probably won't be able to watch tonight. Might try to find an episode online.

I've been watching the first season of Chicago Fire. Mmm yum yum.

I've got the first season of treme to watch soon too has anybody watched it? It's set in new orleans after Katrina.

I've also got the first season of Treme, but have not watched it yet. It's by the creator of The Wire, so I am, guessing that it is good.

I haven't seen The Wire. I looked it up on wiki, it's a bit old to be hoping to get a well seeded torrent for it. 60 episodes all up, I'll give it a go in the new month. Though I do have all seasons of Dexter to watch. I've not watched much TV for years, I got really really frustrated back when they kept moving Sopranos schedule around and airing repeats of Law & Order and CSI. I'd go to watch something and either it wasn't on or they'd put it back on and I wouldn't know. I just cracked the shits and got addicted to message boards instead.

Fry was very flirty in that all women and Alan episode, actually it happens more often than I realised - but not he flirty Fry, he was cute.

Watching
Wedding show on ABC 2, Confessions of a Wedding Planner - does a couple of different cultures each week. It is lovely.
Nice people. Getting married sweetly. No divas/tantrums/bitches. Just sweet people and really interesting different cultures, some mixed marriages. Nigerian Brits was awesome.
