THE COUCH - TV Chat Thread

So I just left a newsagency, and all the mag covers had Bitchelle and Commando doing it, and a baby is mentioned on one cover, plus one says her hubbie was a secret???

Don't watch biggest whingers, so fill in the goss people. Have you noticed them getting chummy? Is the little beady eyed other trainer pissed?
Is she the boss?:):):) And hasn't this series been going for almost 6months, is that normal? It never ends.

I really hope it's just magazine fodder - Michelle is truly ghastly! She's unbelievably aggressive with the contestants, particularly at the beginning of the show when they are at their most vulnerable. I thought this would be the last season, but sadly, there is to be another fatty humiliation farce next year.

This is an interesting read: http://www.dailylife.com.au/health-and-fitness/why-biggest-loser-is-bad-for-you-20130527-2n6v6.html

...tonight I watched 'Wonders of Life' which was presented by Professor Brian Cox... what a fantastic show!... his soothing voice and presentation of the show reminded me of Carl Sagan when he presented 'Cosmos' all those years ago... that was another fantastic show too... apparently Brian has presented other shows 'Wonders of the Universe' and 'Wonders of the Solar System' which I will try to catch up and see too... if they're anything like tonight's show I can't wait... cheers.

Tonight it was dodgy movie night and I picked stuff I liked .......

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter
Meet Dave
And I was about to put Van Helsing on but decided to do that tomorrow night

Anyone else watch the baking show last night? I liked it, needs a bit of fine tuning - but hell I love looking at pretty cakes and such.

I got really hungry when they rolled out the cupcakes - I never get hungry watching foodie shows and I'm not all that much of a sweet tooth anymore, seems to have waned with age.

If we get recipes - the cupcake flavours looked yummy

Yes I watched it, not bad. I've seen the English one and it's pretty similar. I think the girl with the supportive sister who made the ballet cake is a real contender along with the Greek lady. Lots of likeable characters, no sob stories so far that I can recall which is a plus.

I was drooling for a cupcake by the end of the first round.

What's this "Slide Show" on channel 7?

Seems they took an idea that was on McCailaf and padded it out for an hour... Where they put actors into a set and tilt the set so things and people fall over. dumb de dumb........

The same idea was also done on "Thankg God You're Here"

Ooooooo interesting show on SBS right now about how different drugs being discovered, opium 1st.

Pain, Pus, Poison if your interested.

I saw that was scheduled, kxk. As it was dinner time I decided to give it a miss.

Is anyone still watching Masterchef??? I actually thought the challenge tonight was a good one.

Yes, I'm still watching. Last night's challenge was a cracker! I think it was the best one I've seen :)

Some of them worked very smartly together and I was surprised how many of them ended up with very similar plates. And I agree with you Jam - possibly the best challenge from any of the cooking shows.

Really can't stand Kelty, and has George been taking fashion advice from Gretel?!

I feel like throwing stuff at the tv when Kelty is on. He manages to be pompous in a really creepy way.

*shudders*

Edit: It seems to me that George doesn't take fashion advice from anyone :)

Anyone watching Grandma's House, ABC2, Thurs (tonight), 10pm?

Written by and starring pommie comic Simon Ansell, skinny young guy. If you haven't seen it, he's very funny in a quirky way that I love.
The Mum has been in lots of other stuff and is fun too.
