I find the gypsies really interesting, just the seemingly completely unrelated aspects of culture coming together, some things so heavily intensely traditional and old fashioned but then the 'clubwear' for example. I guess its an interesting thing to see two or more areas of life that do not usually intersect within the one person, different beliefs and opinions and traditions, all together. It fascinates me.

H&A = Hamish & Andy not home and away.

They did have that show Real Stories which was pretty woeful, H&A only work unscripted, off the cuff. As soon as a script comes into it they suck as much as Headland!

hahahaha I was thinking I must have the worst memory ever because I didn't recall a show called Headland staring Hamish and Andy.

LOL. That's how fried my brain is today. I saw the Hamish and Andy posts and didn't even consider that's what eliza's post was in reference too. I automatically assumed it was Home and Away.

I quite liked the conclusion to Angry Boys last night (granted, I saw it in bits and pieces as I was channel surfing between it and other things).

Anyone take a look at Judith Lucy's Spiritual Journey? I thought she did well to restrain herself from ripping the priest a new one a few times. Rebecca the nun was lovely. I think I'm going to quite enjoy this show.

Yeah, I missed the first bit, but it was very interesting.
I will be watching, love Judith, and it hit a lot of common history for me, being brought up Catholic and in convent schools.

It's interesting, lots of practising Catholic women are jumping ship to other faiths because of the way women are treated.
I have a best friend who was very Catholic, she even teaches religion in Catholic schools - well she did, now she changed jobs and is going Anglican as she's fed up with how women are treated by the church and by the schools.

I taped it but haven't watched yet. I need to put in some serious TV time though, I have 10% free space on my IQHD box through foxtel. Which I remember as being gigantic compared to what we had with austar and the normal box the kids initially had!

OMG children of the 80's! Rejoyce!:D
Chennel 10 are thinking of bringing back Young Talent Time AND It's A Knockout!!!

^^ I saw that, I am super stoked about It's a Knockout but not YTT, I am sick to death of Hillsong clones invading all the variety shows!

You wonder how IAK and public liability marry together though don't you?

Hillsong clones??????????

Where did you get that idea?

OMG no please don't bring back YTT it will be pc fied and crap, please leave our fond memories of that in the past...Especially those older girls like Tina Arena and how hot she dressed at 16... Was appropriate for the 80s but not now as people have become too prudish..

She did a photo spread for Dolly back in the 80s dressed like a minx

Totally agree :) so much in fact, that the theme song if currently playing in my head. All together now - "It's a knockout! that's the name of the game!

You clearly never watched Australian Idol or The X Factor.

Are you serious? The whole point of YTT was that it was nice, wholesome, family friendly TV. The kids never dressed provocatively, and anything remotely considered risqué in song lyric content was always changed.
By the standards of modern society, 70's/80's YTT was completely daggy and prudish?

Jack from AGT, Idol contestants: Matt Corby, Zimbabwe-born Tarasai Bushe, Daniel Mifsud and Ben Mackenzie - was Guy Hillsong? SYTYCD had quite a few Hillsong members as well.

Bear Grylls is Hillsong

Is that enough? I'm sure there are more too.

**does happy dance** I loved YTT :o:)

and I agree Mia, YTT was totally straight and considered very square and wholesome.

Didn't they retire from the show at 16 years old?

Here is some info about Lorena Novoa, she's a Policewoman now.

PS: calling a 16 year old a minx sits somewhat uncomfortably with me, just saying.

Yes, Guy was 100% Hillsong.

I think the Random boys (from X Factor version 1) were as well.
