Is anyone else disappointed the way the not as glamorous categories got edited out on ch 10 like writing for comedy, directing for comedy? where can i find those clips?

Is anyone else watching Fear,Stress & Anger, ABC Tuesdays 9.30pm, it's freakin hilarious, best comedy I have seen for ages.
Peter Davison, one of my fave actors, from Doc Who(80s), At Home with the Braithwaites, All Creatures Great and Small, Last Detective. And his real life daughter is one of his show daughters.
Damn this is funny.

Did anyone notice that ch 10 got The Cleveland Show? They're going to air it during the silly season. Anyone going to watch it?

^never heard of it *goes off to google it*

Oh a spinoff of Family Guy, my son will be keen, even though I cringe when he watches it

Well I enjoyed Rush tonight, at least Josh wasn't being domineering and stand offish...now time for me to watch the last ep of Sons of Anarchy, nite

The Cleveland Show looks horrible. And I love Family Guy.

He's the worst charcter on FG, would've much rather have had a Quagmire show

My Boyfriend is a Sex Tourist

I watched this horrible but enthralling documentory on SBS last night.

It is basically set in a resort that blokes go to where they have girls on tap

Hotelier Paul Baxter gets all sorts at his Venezuelan island resort: doctors, lawyers, policemen, athletes. But they all have one thing in common: they're sex tourists.

Baxter's resort is really a brothel with a difference: "Instead of providing a prostitute for just one hour a day, this gives a 24-hour experience," he explains. When guests arrive, they pick from a line-up of prospective companions, who then move into the men's rooms as a "girlfriend for hire".

This fly-on-the-wall doco, which benefits from astonishingly frank and unfettered access, follows the women as they deal with poor pay, diseased penises ("his dick looks like a corn cob," one of the staff complains) and revolting regulars such as Canadian Bob Fever: a big, buttery ball of blubber who believes the women enjoy his company.

SOURCE

This guy featured heavily in the doco, he was beyond revolting and very, very demanding

For anyone who is interested here is the link to SBS they have episode 1 on the site

The girls are on the whole very unhappy with what they have to do and I found it surprising that these guys agreed to take part and be shown to the world, they must be delusional.

Eeeewwww!!! that sounds revolting....what a shame these women have to resort to dealing with such men and live that life. Typical SBS doco, they always sound terrible, and once you start watching you can't turn the channel over, lol

Am I the only one lamenting both David Reyne and Kim Watkins jumping ship on 9am?

I will miss their chemistry and banter, and especially David's grumpiness.
Despite the fact the powers that be made the decision to 'dumb down' the show (i.e. make it more like Kerri-Anne and Larry and Kylie) this year, as far as I'm concerned, they still managed to have some interesting and intelligent interviews (and interviewees). Morning television won't be the same without them. :(

I guess it'll be wall-to-wall fireworks displays across the NYE broadcasts tonight. I guess I'm one of the few people who shrugs at that. Fireworks are fun to watch if you're actually there, but on television they seem boring as hell. Unless a stray ember from the pyrotechnics landed on Richard Wilkins head and he caught on fire. There's your Happy New Year, right there. Just kidding. Or am I.

Nah, Shaun Micallef is hosting a variety show tonight from 10pm to midnight on Channel 10.

Now that would be good, flaming Wilkins. I'm with you LazyRadical, fireworks on tv are boring - they lose the ooo ahhh factor on the small screen.

Why do shows like BB and Idol fail quicker in Australia? is it because the local directors/producers mess with the formula? or is there some other reason?

I wouldn't say they have - eight years for BB and I'm guessing a similar run for Idol isn't really a failure when you put it into perspective. Not many other shows that launched around the same time lasted anywhere near as long.

but BBUK lasted a couple more years, and US idol is still going round. i think thats what she meant.
