The Block: Glasshouse

I didn't really love love any of the bedrooms. I mean don't get me wrong they all looked great, I just didn't find myself drawn to any particular one.

They looked like a bunch of blah 4 star hotel rooms - look clean and new, but not interesting

Good grief! Why does Shelley Craft's stylist hate her sooooo much?

And, in breaking news, I hate the brothers again.

OMG I would be livid at the brothers if I had to put that abomination on my wall. LIVID.

As for Shelly, I was getting a distinct Edina Monsoon vibe from her outfit.

Those brothers! Grrrr! That deer was once a magnificent, living creature and he deserved more respect than they gave him. Shallow, thoughtless fools.

Poor old Shelly. A Homer muumuu would be more flattering...

They're back! Last season's favourites Dale and Steve return to The Block as judges as as Simon and Shannon present hollowed out deer head on challenge day

By Daily Mail Reporter

It was called the Love Thy Neighbour challenge.

But after receiving the fruits of some of their neighbour's labour on Wednesday night's episode of The Block love was definitely not in the air.

Pitted with transforming a piece of vintage furniture into a modern accessory fit for a million dollar apartment each team was tasked with designing for another unsuspecting couple.

Challenge day on The Block: Pitted with transforming a piece of vintage furniture into a modern accessory fit for a million dollar apartment each team was tasked with designing for another unsuspecting couple

With six hours on the clock and $5,000 cash up for grabs presenter Shelley outlined the challenge.

'It's become very clear that you're all very handy at turning something old and drab into something new and fab,' said Shelley dressed in beige.

'You are to select an original piece of pre-loved furniture from How Bazaar and re purpose it.

'Giving it an entirely new life. There is no shortage of treasures to be found.'

Contestants would be marked for their originality and functionality, and the creation would appear somewhere in their beloved neighbour's apartment.

Simon and Shannon immediately clapped eyes on a mutilated deer head.

Creepy: Turning into Brother's Grimms the boys hatched a plan to hollow out the deer head and fire laser beams from its eyes - perfect for intimate dinner parties

Turning into Brother's Grimms the boys hatched a plan to hollow out the deer head and fire laser beams from its eyes - perfect for intimate dinner parties.

Like something from the Chainsaw Massacre Simon gleefully attacked it with a blade as they emptied out the animal's head and planned to insert fairy lights.

'You can't hang that anywhere - it's hideous,' said Simon gleefully as they planned to give it to Chris and Jenna.

But with half an hour to go and sensing that their taxidermy chandelier might not become a dear object for their fellow contestants the boys decided to create a back up plan.

Let's go! Meanwhile Chris and Jenna were struggling to settle on a gift idea for hard to please Dee and Darren, but playing to their strengths they opted to renovate a cabinet into a modern herb garden - with disco lights

First they attempted to transform an old round topper into a glass topped coffee table, then they decided to make it into an industrial lamp.

'It's not for the win it's to remain friends with everyone on The Block,' said Shannon sensing a dead deer's head might not take centre stage in a million dollar apartment block.

The double D's had their idea sorted as they clapped eyes on a pair of over sized horns.

Tough job! Karstan and Maxine hit on a stinker of an idea - transforming a sewage flute into a free standing lamp

No stranger to blowing her own trumpet former fashion designer Dee knew exactly what to do as she set about transforming the cones into loud speaker pendant lights for Maxine and Karstan.

Meanwhile, Michael and Carlene lit on an idea of creating a reading light out of a vintage telescope and an old brazier.

Repainting the 1880's breather tube didn't seem to improve matters much either.

As Shelley called time, she revealed this week's judges were last year's stars Steve and Dale.

Comedy king Dale pulled out a pair of Darren Palmer style spectacles as the boys set about marking the newbies work.

First up with Dee and Darren's carnival loud speakers, which Steve, lover of eclectic works, called 'crazy cool'.

'Did you just hook them up standing up?' joked Dale about Darren's height.

Admiring the rest of the creations the men looked alarmed as they were presented with marking Simon and Shannon's unusual light or coffee table.

Flipping a coin they decided to mark the deer's head, much to Chris and Jenna's dismay.

But it was Michael and Carlene who were awarded the top prize and $5,000 for their beautiful vintage reading light, which brother's Simon and Shannon were the lucky recipients of.

Simon said it best when he joked: 'Everyone in the room hated us'.

The Block continues on Channel Nine at 7.30pm on Thursday.

Like, Shannon is literally just one of the finest pieces of ass I have ever seen in my life. I don't understand how somebody can be that good looking. Ugh! #do #me

But then you have honourable mentions like Darren... and Karstan... and Simon... just oh so much eye candy! :hilarious:

Karstan is gorgeous, looks and temperament, he just wants happy all the time  i am hoping he and Max win this season

I don't think the winning bathroom deserved to win, let alone a perfect score. That bath was tiny! I'm not keen on under floor heating either. I did like Max and Karsten's bathroom, and I also thought Handsome Man and annoying WAG's was great.

I'm glad Chris & Jenna have a win under their belt and while I did like their bathroom my favourite would have to go to the Jolly Giant & 'Lil Bitch.
