When did I suggest we were asking for a BB1 repeat, I'm saying things are different now and so it's hard to compare it to the 2000s. And yeah when you compare it to the previous reboots, the Channel 10 return is way less produced, maybe you're new to BB.
I’m certainly not new lol. Channel 7 aside, this is the most over produced and curated steaming pile to air on Ten or even 9.

I scored it a 5. Its passable, but has issues.

This season feels souless. Its like the echos of Big Brother past. Mel is doing fantastically but the budget is really showing. The eviction episode was incredibly disappointing, it felt too much like a daily show.

I do however really like the nominations format. Very quick paced but with live reveals is quite exciting.

I'm hoping that this years low budget and general sloppiness is just a sign that BB will return next year bigger and better, and LONGER.
I dont think there will be a next year unless the budget improves

You're obviously entitled to feel however you want but I would just encourage you to try and appreciate it for what it is, you don't have to find fault in everything. It's entertaining or you wouldn't still be watching it and whinging and complaining about it.

Honestly, it’s more hate watching. I’ll be dropping it if the next season resembles this mess.

Currently at a 4 rating..

It will go down to a 2 if Vinnie leaves any time before next Thursday
I think a big issue with the short run time is the evictions don't really matter - the show isn't going to change at all in the last week unless Holly goes really and even if it does it's only a week. Even Mia, Jane and Michael's evictions all feel irrelevant because too many housemates and not enough weeks means there isn't really enough time for the show to be affected. A week 3 evictee should be long forgotten by the finale.

Yeah this pacing is so Celeb BBUk/I’m a Celeb get me out of here

Fair play the hotel task has felt like classic BB and actually bought out different sides of the HMs. The secret mission element fell flat though - would have been better if they made the nominees the staff then gave them a secret mission which if passed would save them from a double eviction this week and put the others up instead for the second.

Also a thought of the "dinner of the damned". Don't think they've done it this week after not airing last week but would be better to do it on a Thursday as content for the Friday show.

Correct. But these producers aren’t that clever.

Especially since the whole intention of the segment was to be a “lave ditch effort” for viewers to send Save votes… which became completely redundant when it was aired minutes before the evictee was announced on the Sunday episode anyway.

Took my score down to a four. The over produced mess they’ve delivered focusing on ridiculous showmances has robbed us of getting to know all the housemates. It feels rushed, it feels forced, it feels like an over manipulated, Temu version of love Island and not what they promised at all.
Couple that with the dumpster fire eviction shows and it’s a piss poor experience. We want a proper sit down interview, we want a highlight reel of their time in the house, good and bad and we want to see their reaction to who nominated them and why.
Lastly, please for the love of Jebus get a proper, stern, no shit taking Big Brother!
We want real consequences for breaking rules, not this bff, giggly little boy running the show now.

Kind of feel like even amongst the shitty production and horrific editing this season has come into its own and now just as dynamics are changing within the house and we are seeing the real side to some of these housemates its coming to an end.

Simply must be a longer series next year if they want this show to succeed longer term.

RE: Snap Evictions and Walkouts

The latest fiasco of the snap eviction and Abiola's walkout should be shown live without any feed cuts since it is the nature of Big Brother itself - we see everything live.

If they are going evictions like these again, people will complain as production would have broken the promise out of thousands of people, especially with a small hype and countdown and everything. Should have sticked to live shows instead if that is the case then.

Apparently it was our fault for reading too much into it.

It's definitely back, BB is now one of the highest rating shows on 10 and they haven't had this many young people watching them in ages.

The fact the show is the number 2 show with under 40's just behind Love Island every night its on is pretty incredible even with less competition.

Other than the over-focus on them showcasing romantic relationships. I think my main issue this year is with the lack of transparency in voting, and the way Head Housemate is handled.

The fact that they don't show evictee voting percentages from the public like they used to is a big red flag for one.

That whole phone twist with a random caller having the power to evict someone out of the blue when people potentially spent money to save another housemate, not knowing that one rando (who coulda even been production) was able to revert the entire process.. leaves a pretty foul taste. - We don't know whether Allana or Mia had more votes to save. Hopefully production learnt their lesson to never bring back this 'twist' again

Mia being able to nominate housemates after being evicted was also something that should never ever happen in Big Brother. Once you've evicted, you're evicted. An evictee shouldn't be able to nominate anybody once they're out.

This is why the "Hand Grenade" in 2008 was fair, because evicted housemates could still punish other housemates in a way that didn't actually affect the game. But this year, this whole "evictee chooses to keep a housemate safe for a week" is way too overpowered, and can easily be abused by production to favour certain people. Not to mention the power for a Head Housemate to choose to save someone from being nominated. So now Allana is coasting through because of 1. a random phone call twist. & 2. being saved from nomination by HH.

And because of all these massive advantages and lack of transparency it can feel like there is manipulation from production to save certain people for entertainment value or other factors. They can still do simple twists with nominating as they did in 2005-2008 for Head of House, but not ones that dramatically put into question the sincerity of this game.

I just want normal evictions without all these gimmicks and insane twists next year.

This is something that I want from a Big Brother edition for a very long time. Even in the UK, where they now just throw in twists upon twists, and making the show less interesting because of that. Heck even, the influencers in the latest series were the last straws for me to just turn it off until a substantial change happens.

I would want a normal format Big Brother for once. Normal nominations, (either 2/1 system or 5 points, i don't really mind) housemates that people can relate to, no twists, no favouritisms or biases, normal evictions, and we just see what happens from that point on. It has to be different than the other offerings in the TV landscape, and not like a Love Island-esque show.

The direction the show is currently going is really not great at all. 24/7 livestream that, apart from legal stuff that should be censored, also censor editorial stuff like the backdoor evictions or arguments happening, e.g. Holly/Colin at that time or the Jane fight with the boys. Those moments would air on TV back in the OG days and presented in a raw form, with no hiccups apart from censoring swear words and there. They just don't know how to do live TV, around the clock at all.

Eviction shows and nomination shows are a mess. The house is really poor in terms of location and the build quality itself. Twists that really are questionable (the phone eviction being the main culprit here) and just feel like there's no love put into the show. (even if that TikTok producer said otherwise)

2026 has to be a year they go back to the drawing board again and see what's right or not, because, as I've mentioned in the ratings thread, if they don't take these feedback into account now, the ratings will slip back to the Channel 7 days. (and we really don't want that as it's probably the last time BB will ever be shown until like 10 years from the last cancellation)
