Phillip De Angelis, 37, appeared at a Sydney court on Thursday morning charged with allegedly assaulting and choking his former partner, socialite Nellie Tilley.
The clean-shaven Stu look-a-like was charged earlier this year with a series of alleged criminal offences against Ms Tilley over an 18 month period.

The charges he faces include assault occasioning bodily harm, common assault, intentionally choke (etc) person with recklessness and break and enter.
Police took out an interim AVO against Mr De Angelis for Ms Tilley and it was continued by deputy chief magistrate Chris O'Brien this morning.
His lawyers are negotiating with prosecutors, the court heard, and his bail was continued. He is yet to enter a plea.
Mr De Angelis, who appeared in a smart black suit, is the nephew of Stu's father, the venerable hotel scion Arthur Laundy. Phil's mother Robyn is Arthur's sister.
Both sides of the family run hotel chains. The De Angelis Hotel Group belongs to Phillip's family and Stu, 44, is the CEO of the Laundy Hotel Group.
Interestingly, as of this week, both wings of the family have been linked to the Tilley clan.

She really does seem to have no idea when it comes to assessing people's qualities.

Of COURSE you see a different side, you see the persona he puts up when he's with you, where he tries to pass himself off as a loving, caring knight in shining armour.
I hope to god she was allowed to watch the full show (plus outtakes) before she made her decision, to see what he is like when she is not around. If she has seen it and still maintains he's wonderful, she's beyond our help.
you forget we only see what the producers show us - and often its manipulated to fit their storylines
She does see more than we do - one of the guys let on that every bachelor gets to spend time with her at every cocktail party - whereas we are led to believe its only a select few and there is much jostling to be chosen ...
We don't get to see all these chats or all of the dates ... I think if she has chosen Jarrod she'd be laughing at the whole pot plant thing knowing as she does that her assistant swapped hers out ... if she has chosen Stu she'll be maybe questioning his shiftiness with some of those answers all over again ...

I have to politely disagree crimmy.
If Sophie has seen what we have seen - let alone more - then she has seen Jarrod going red-faced with barely suppressed rage at the thought of anyone else talking to "his" woman, well before he had any reason to think he was special.
The producers may have played on that but they can't have created the footage, it must have happened.
The pot plant stuff, while stupid, also displayed that he can't control his temper, and is prone to act childishly.
Sorry crimmy but I don't see what you see in him, I think he would be a dreadful match for Sophie, or anyone really.
I just prefer to give the guy the benefit of the doubt re some of the "suppressed rage" which was played up - Sam and Blake used to deliberately needle him - that sort of thing is funny to a point - then goes too far
Yes he got very possessive sounding from that first date - but that's when he'd realise Ok I AM liking this woman - I'm keen to learn more about her - I want to spend time with her ... I'm here for the right reasons - some of these other dickheads are just here for the funsies - I could actually be serious about this woman - why should we waste any time on them when its clear (from talk in house and actions) that they're only there for shits & giggles.
I guess I would have a fairly short wick myself dealing with some of the younger ones ... and Sam I think I would have wanted to dunk in the pool constantly just to shut him up. As a voice over "artist" he loved the sound of his own voice just a bit too much! I would weed out the dickheads pretty quickly living in a house with them and with so much down time in their company. They'd be bouncing off walls in there in the first month I would think.
I don't think he thought he was anything special - I think he just knew he was interested and had the blinkers on from that point. He wanted time with her so that she got to know him and he got the opportunity to know more about her.
Its a weird concept and I normally hate the finale week because I hate to see anyone hurt. I didn't feel like Apollo was that invested so whilst on the night he might have been a bit stunned I don't think he was all that surprised and I didn't feel all that sad for him.
I feel that at least with Jarrod there's a possibility of a future - because there's no baggage to contend with and if she truly does like the simple life away from the spotlight when she's not working I could see it working ... but with Stu I think she'd be stuck to living in the Social Pages - I think he likes that part of his life and I don't see him wanting to move out of the city for a quieter lifestyle ... PLUS there are 4 daughters to contend with - never going to be easy.

New South Wales Police confirmed on Thursday that they have received a report in relation to the incident and are investigating, but said that 'due to the ongoing investigation, no further information is able to be provided.'
Jen told police she received a text message from Blake threatening to sell nude images she had sent him during their relationship.

Under these laws, which came into effect in August, offenders who share or threaten to share revenge porn face up to three years in jail and a fine of $11,000.
