The Bachelorette 2017

Apollo's face and neck seemed HUGE in that episode. Bad camera angles? Too many breadsticks?! Quite relieved he went home, after that, and what a lovely goodbye between the two of them. I got all misty.

It's Stu for me. I'd love Sophie to find happiness with Mr Moneybags. He's funny and I liked some of his interactions with the homeless guys on his previous reality show. I'd like to think it could work.

'I was onto him': Jarrod reveals how 'cunning' Stu tried to 'sabotage' his chances by trying to dissuade him from telling Sophie Monk how he felt on The Bachelorette

It's down to the final two contestants on The Bachelorette, with competition certainly heating up between Stu Laundy and Jarrod Woodgate.

And ahead of Thursday night's finale Jarrod has lifted the lid on how Stu tried to 'sabotage' his chances with Sophie Monk during the series.

'He said, ''You should slow things down a little bit,'' but I was onto him,' Jarrod revealed to OK! Magazine.

'I was onto him': Jarrod reveals how 'cunning' Stu tried to 'sabotage' his chances by trying to dissuade him from telling Sophie Monk how he felt on The Bachelorette

Speaking to the magazine, Jarrod explained how he and Stu had a conversation where the pub millionaire tried to talk him out of being so upfront with his feelings.

The vineyard manager said he is grateful he didn't listen to Stu after watching episodes of The Bachelorette.

'Stu pulled me up [about] my feelings for Sophie. He said, ''You should slow things down a little bit,'' but I was onto him,' Jarrod said.

'You're a cunning little bloke': The vineyard manager said he is grateful he didn't listen to Stu after watching episodes of The Bachelorette

'I didn't listen, and I'm glad I didn't because watching the show back, I see how he had all the right answers. I'm like, ''You're a cunning little bloke''.'

Heavily invested from the start, Jarrod said the thought of intruder Stu winning was 'horrible'.

'[Seeing Stu win] would be like seeing your best mate with the girl that you'd be chasing for a longer amount of time,' he said.

Jarrod's comments come as viewers appear to have had a change of heart towards him after previously labelling him a 'stage five clinger'.

He's the bookies favourite to capture Sophie Monk's heart in The Bachelorette finale.

But Stu Laundy isn't sure how strong his feelings for Sophie Monk are or if he can see the two sharing a future together.

In an interview with OK! Magazine on Thursday the multi-millionaire said he was 'not in love with Sophie' and hadn't 'thought too far ahead' when it came to his relationship with the 37-year-old singer.

And, when probed on his true feelings, Stu told the publication: 'Love is a tough topic. I don't take love lightly.'

He also gave a resolute 'No' when asked if he would propose to Sophie.

Stu, who is still legally married to his ex wife Rachel with whom he shares four children, also said he wouldn't be distraught if Sophie chose Jarrod Woodgate over him.

'Heartbreak is a strong word,' he said. 'I would say I'd be extremely disappointed.'

No proposal! Stu gave a resolute 'No' when asked if he would pop the question to Sophie

On Wednesday's episode Sophie and Stu shared an intimate date at Sydney's Aquarium and while it ultimately ended with a kiss between the pair, Stu had his guard up during a chat.

The publican appeared keen to settle down with Sophie early on in the date, commenting that he wanted to give her only the very best.

'I am a very protective guy and I like taking care of people. If Sophie would like, I'd nurture and look after her and take care of her for the rest of her life,' he said during the date where the pair got up close and personal with dugongs.

However, things took an awkward turn as the pair sat down for an intense conversation.

After previously hearing the bombshell that Stu is still technically married and has had a vasectomy, Sophie grilled the affluent businessman for more information on his personal life.

The former Bardot singer asked him about when exactly he planned to finalise his divorce but a hesitant Stu seemed to dart around the question.

45A9257700000578-0-image-a-13_1508965389897.jpg

'I think we've established a very firm friendship' Stu appeared to friendzone Sophie

Stuttering, he responded: 'Uh, very soon, hopefully. It's not... you know, that there's any chance there. But it's...it's not far away.'

Stu also avoided giving a definitive answer as to whether he thought Sophie was marriage material which made the blonde bombshell second-guess whether he was ready for commitment.

Making things worse, Stu then appeared to put Sophie in the friendzone, telling her: 'I think we've established a very...and don't get me wrong when I say this... a very firm friendship.'

Not marriage material? Stu also avoided giving Sophie a definitive answer as to whether he was ready for commitment

He continued: 'I'm not saying there's no romance there. I'm very affectionate with you.'

Despite his assurances that he saw her in a romantic light, Sophie was clearly taken aback.

She hit back: 'Are you friend-zoning me?', to which he replied: 'Not one bit.'

Though a question mark still lingers over whether Stu is in it for the long haul, Sophie was willing to keep him around for the finale.

Instead, she teared up as she said goodbye to magician Apollo Jackson, leaving vineyard owner Jarrod Woodgate and Stu battling it out in the final two.

Sophie, a self-described 'massive bogan' who was once engaged to Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden and Stu, a member of one of the country's most powerful pub families, might seem like an odd pairing, but 'if they do get together they will be really good', a 'family friend' of the Laundys told Fairfax Media.

reading this makes me want Jarrod to be her final choice more than ever! of course she's going to go with HER feelings - she really doesnt know theirs - but to me this reeks of Stu not being the winner and now propping up his ego to ensure he doesn't look like a loser

So Australia can get a much-needed laugh (and this show sink to even deeper depths), she NEEDS to pick Jarrod. He would definitely propose with the freebie ring. They can have bright pink babies together :arghh: and flog nappies and cheap wine on Instagram. It would be perfect. A dream come true. :hilarious:

you're buying into the edit though - he seems an ok down-to-earth guy - maybe a bit too invested but hey at his age (if you're genuine in your intent on going on the show in the first place) you aren't there to muck around
as he told Sophie - he'll come away from this with some new friends - but he's not there for them - he's there for her
he's one of the few you could say WAS there geniunely really - they need to screen these people a lot more thoroughly (they must have been able to check on Blake's background and know about his thuggery!) and stop approaching people to come on the show because if they were truely interested they'd apply for themselves without being pushed or invited

Is this proof Jarrod Woodgate WINS The Bachelorette? Richie Strahan's stage five clinger theory reveals why audience underdog will take the crown

He's the vineyard manager singleton who no one expected would make it to the Bachelorette grand finale.

But a new theory reveals why Sophie Monk's 'stage five clinger' Jarrod Woodgate may indeed be the last man standing in the end.

While the notion of dating a zealous admirer may seem like an uncomfortable prospect for some, it wouldn't be the first time a reality TV star began a relationship with their stage five clinger.

Will Jarrod cling his way to Sophie's heart? A new theory reveals why Sophie Monk's 'stage five clinger' Jarrod Woodgate may indeed be the last man standing in the end

Just one year ago, Australia was shocked after former Bachelor star Richie Strahan dumped Nikki Gogan for Alex Nation- who was unpopular with audiences due to her obsessive desire to win the competition.

Like Jarrod, Alex received a barrage of online criticism for her on-screen meltdowns, with former Bachelorette star Sasha Mielczarek Tweeting: 'Is there anything higher than Stage 5 when it comes to clinging? If so can someone please advise so I may describe Alex!'

Richie defended the single mother's behavour prior to the season finale, blaming her negative portrayal on editing.

459DC0DC00000578-0-image-a-36_1508974313594.jpg

It's happened before! If Jarrod comes out on top, he wouldn't be the first stage five clinger to win the heart of a dating show protagonist

They even share the same smooch technique! There are marked similarities between Richie and Alex's relationship and that of Sophie and Jarrod

'I think Alex handled herself really well. It's one of those things where a show like this shows emotion, so if someone shows a little emotion or passion, it's going to be aired because it's TV,' he told News Corp at the time.

Following the finale, Richie once again defended Alex from her detractors, telling News Corp that he felt frustrated by the ridicule.

'You know what, she can be my stage five clinger any time. She makes a good jetpack,' he boasted.

Over already: Richie and Alex called it quits earlier this year but are yet to comment on the breakdown of their relationship

Sophie has similarly made a point of defending Jarrod, telling KIIS FM's Hughsey And Kate: 'People are saying he's a creep. He is not a creep at all. Not one bit.;

'I've read some of the stuff and it's not right,' she assured the radio duo.

On Thursday this week, Sophie once again jumped on the defense when it came to her fiery-haired suitor, telling Nova 96.9's Fitzy & Wippa 'I see a different side you guys see and so I'm watching it as it unfolds as well.'

'But I'm tell you he's such a beautiful caring person,' she added.

Blinded by love? On Thursday, Sophie once again jumped on the defense when it came to her fiery-haired suitor, telling Nova 96.9's Fitzy & Wippa 'I see a different side you guys see and so I'm watching it as it unfolds as well'

If Sophie did choose Jarrod how long would you give them on the outside world?

I don't think Sophie would dump him, not immediately. But there's no commitment to marriage, or even living together. They'll do their promotional duties, then see each other less & less before going their separate ways, like most reality tv couples.

And then Sophie will wonder why she even agreed to be on this show at all.

'I'm not in love with Sophie': The Bachelorette 'winner' Stu Laundy's shocking revelation that he's 'not sure if he sees a future with the leading lady'

Will she get her dream? Stu Laundy isn't sure how strong his feelings for Sophie Monk are or if he can see the two sharing a future together

Confusing! Sophie and Stu shared an intimate date at Sydney's Aquarium and while it ultimately ended with a kiss, Stu had his guard up during a chat about commitment

Umm...I think this article is being a bit harsh on Stu. They are also misrepresenting the date a bit. Stu did not friend zone Sophie.

Yeah I don't like him much but I don't think he said, or gave the impression, that he's 'not in love' with her. If Sophie is allowed to hedge her bets and not reveal her true feelings until it's over, the contestants are entitled to too.
