The Bachelor Australia 2015

At the end of the day the bach had to pick one. It's the height of arrogance, not to mention stupidity for not preparing for the most likely outcome, to presume each of them were destined to be picked by him ahead of the others and be this 'devastated' because he jilted them.

Okay, pretend for a minute that these are actually real people with feelings. The whole time they're encouraged to open up to him, to be vulnerable, to put down their defenses. So yes, in the back of their head they know very well they could get hurt, but if his actions are giving them no reason to doubt, if he's telling them how great they are and how he can't believe how close they've gotten then obviously it's going to hurt when you find out he didn't feel it all along. It's not arrogance, it's humanity. You can prepare yourself all you like but it's still going to hurt when you're not chosen.

Neither Heather (who I believe had real feelings for him) or I'm guessing Lana (I didn't see the program as I'm at work) seem to be blaming Sam for not picking them or saying bad things about him. It did hurt them though.

Oh dear, poor Conn apparently has never been in love, would explain a lot!

I reckon he's just downplaying the other connections in the media now so Snez doesn't get pissed off. I thought there was clearly a spark between him and Lana. I don't think their bond was a great as the media told us, but there was absolutely something there.

Still though hearing it would be crushing for Lana...as would his "I only ever saw her as a friend" be to Heather after he'd told her the complete opposite.

He's backtracking now, and hurting the other girls more in the process.

He should have just said he had great connections with the other girls but felt more strongly for Snez. That's it. That's the concept of the show. He doesn't need to humiliate them by publicly saying there was never anything there after they've poured their hearts out.

Agree 100% with this.

I'm at work so not able to view the Studio 10 thing for myself - so just going on what others who ARE able to see it with regard to the genuine tears (or not)

I've had doubts about both the final 2's motives from the start ... but still don't discount the fact that you can head in there with one motive and still unexpecteduly develop real feelings for someone in there (look at Heather - I think she thought it would be fun, an experience but had no real expectation she'd last too long in there)

Nah you really need to watch it, she was visibly upset and extremely uncomfortable even talking about it - I suspect she actually doesn't want any media attention.

She had genuine tears.

I agree with parts of this but maybe I am a naive sucker but I feel Lana's tears are 100% genuine.

I tend to have delayed reactions to things myself and it's normal to go into shock or similar, there is a huge range of ways a person can react. I'm now thinking Lana was in shock/denial last night but has since had it sink in and give way to sadness and by watching it recently it has resurfaced.

Also if there is any truth to that rumour about Sam and Lana already knowing each other (which I suppose last nights outcome would suggest not) then I think that would go some way explaining the tears, it would be quite the betrayal and a total run around to be purposely brought into a competition because the guy already liked you only to not win. But that is 100% hearsay and conjecture and probably not true, but I guess it could be.

I think, if any of these women had met Sam at a nightclub, a party, or at a lunchtime barbeque they'd have smiled politely and carried on.

Anway, I do hope if Snow White really is in love with her Woodsman (heh) that the feeling is mutual and he treats her and her daughter well. It would be nice if it lasted, somehow.

I understand completely - but question if the reason for the tears is still hurt over losing out on love or a reaction to the humiliatiion she's been put through having to keep this secret, put on a false front and know everyone witnessed her pouring her heart out and having him dump her so cruelly ... I tend to think its more likely to be from humiliation and pride rather than hurt over lost love although understand how it can suddenly creep up out of nowhere and bite you again no matter how much time has passed

quite frankly he's probably doing her a huge favour acting like such a jerk denying having any feelings when we've all seen him with his tongue down her throat and grabbing her ass etc etc - HE comes out of this looking like the jerk ... she gains our sympathy

it really is disgusting to trot her out like that - especially if its in the company of the two love birds complete with in your face constant PDA's and cooing about how much they love one another
that's just out and out cruelty and noone deserves that bs

Yeah I get you, that makes sense really. No one likes to be humiliated let alone on a hugely watched tv show, especially when being lead on etc. it could be a bit of both, her tears were real and the emotions behind them seemed genuine.

I wonder if there's a way for Sam to have come out if this whole circus without seeming like a jerk? I definitely agree with you that he has inadvertently done the girls a massive favourite though. I was fairly meh on Lana but I am now greatly sympathetic.[DOUBLEPOST=1442538830][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah I think she probably thought she was no chance and then went Sarah left I noticed her soften.....so she's been dumped the minute she's opened up...and by dumped as in rejected.
I've had that happen to me and it actually took far longer to get over than longer relationships I'd had where I was in love.

I have a low opinion on Sam sad to say....he's a creep.

On the plus Sarah couldn't care less LOL she was never into him it seems.
