Survivor Season 33

Watching episode 7

I swear one of the tribes is called Manure!
Good to see David's tribe actually win something.
Michaela excels at challenges yet again.
Fart - fest at Manure after the the reward challenge feast. So gross. :vomit: Fart Fest Feast.
Does the lying about what you do for a living ever work? Evan and Bianca from Aus survivor didn't last long.
NOOOOOOOOO...I can't believe they got rid of Michaela :(

This RHAP episode interview of Michaela is interesting and worth a listen.

Michaela said she didn't out Jay havinng an immunity idol after she was eliminated, not because she forgot about it but because at that point, Jay had won so it didn't seem fair. It would have been fun if she had though.

That's interesting. I thought that might have been what she said to him when she went back and they bleeped her out. I forgot about it too.

I hated the way Jay was like "I did that". There are nice ways to stab someone in the back in Survivor for the sake of your game, and then there's just assholery. And Michaela is not a bear I'd want to poke!

I thought that was very decent of her not to say something but if it was me I don't know if I could have kept my mouth shut!

I wondered why Michaela didn't reveal the idol as well, I suspected she just forgot in her anger. If she did she probably wouldn't admit it.

Jay actually mentioned the worry about her knowing about the idol, he didn't tell her of her elimination beforehand so she'd have less time to blow up and think about it. Still a risk though.

Michaela's attitude was a risk for reasons like that to do with the game, rather than just that she was annoying to live with. Still not convinced she was a great game mind. She was good at tribal challenges, though individual challenges are largely balancing endurance and we have no idea at this point if she could do that as well.

Like some others I'm kind of disappointed she's gone as she was entertaining in a way. Whether it's a good move or not will be seen but it's not that surprising a one if she isn't trusted.

Don't mind Jay too much at this point, at least he's making moves. Can't say he's likeable exactly but he at least backs up his opinions with action. His sidekick however just seems there to pull dumb faces.

Er, the way she left?

She was rude and hostile in her TH's, going back to the first episodes. Her entire demeanour was aggressive. Her outrage at being voted out plainly demonstrated her anger issues and her sense of entitlement. I can see being surprised, shocked, hurt, astonished, pissed off at being blindsided by your 'alliance' -- but she radiated pure fury and how dare you vote me out at Jay.

(I can't explain it to you, if you can't see it, though. A lot of people are emotion-blind.)

She was surprised, shocked, hurt, astonished, and pissed off. That's why she reacted the way she did. "I can't explain it to you if you can't see it" just makes it seem like "well of course she's <all these negative adjectives you listed>, she's the season's Angry Black Woman."

I'm also glad that the generation split that the producers have tried to push has proved largely irrelevant in the game.

Oh, please. I called out Tully as a "temporary lesbian" early on in last BB. Was that another example of my knee jerk-racism perhaps? (Pretty well no-one agreed then. Ha.) I saw what I saw, as did others here and on other boards. You didn't; leave it. No need to get personal and aggressive here. Sorry I engaged with you.

She WAS the angry Black woman.

I have no problem saying it. That's what she was cast as and she delivered.

I'm not sure why you're quoting me to make your "point". I would think you should be discussing it with the other thug.

Well I could see the result coming, but
I really wanted smug Adam to go home with the idol in his pocket
.

I don't mind Adam, he plays a bit too hard but I prefer that to the vacuous millenials.
It's slim pickings though, at this stage I only really like Ken and Jessica, possibly Zeke.
So I was more than happy with who was voted out.

I don't understand Zeke's "I've never trusted you" comment when voting. We were clearly meant to think it might be Adam, after Zeke's earlier comments about him flipping, but it turned out to be... Michelle. Since when was there any kind of interaction between them, or anything at all from Michelle, who might as well not even have been there.

I was interested in the Michelle storyline in relation to David. She was attacking him, very pointlessly, at tribal a few episodes back, and now he is shown being behind her going.

Good season, lots of gameplay, not many, if any, are able to just go under the radar. And that's what Survivor should be about.

It's turning out better than I thought it would, at the start. Plenty of old walruses left, and most of my favourites still there.

Really enjoyed the huge proud smile Will had getting that Immunity Necklace off Jeff - he just looked so thrilled, it was sweet.

Quite glad the devious missionary went. Which leaves Hannah as the last remaining Millennial woman, hilarious.

Ever since she got Mari voted out, and Zeke was kept in the dark about the vote switch so knew he was on the bottom of his tribe, way back.

Thanks, I'd forgotten about that. Michelle had been so under the radar since then, I barely noticed her, so it seemed a bit out of the blue in an episode where we'd seen nothing of her.

It was weird they showed so little of her in this ep, given she was the one ultimately getting the boot.
