Survivor 47 (USA)

Another boring episode. Shame that this season's such a step back after 45 and 46 especially were so good. This feels just as bad as 43 and 44.
What is the appeal to 45? I know it seems to be universally loved best of the new era but to me it just had a lot of what this episode - predictable pile on.

Maybe I don't like it because I tend to prefer winners that have been on the bottom at some stage too as then you get to see what they are made of.

For instance seeing Genevieve the last couple of weeks - she is pathetic if she is not in control - she doesn't seem to know what to do. Rachel on the bottom has done stuff (and been lucky, to change where she is at). Sam is trying stuff - whether it will make a difference who knows but he is trying stuff. Andy has been on the bottom most of the game but is constantly trying.

Jake in 45 - at least he kept trying to do stuff - he just had no social capital or backing. The others just let the Reba 4/Dee run away with it.

45 isn't my favorite and I think it's a bit overrated, but it's still a very good season and refreshing compared to what came right before it. Lulu is an all-time disaster tribe in the best way possible and the Bruce/Katurah clash was a great storyline. Even though the post-merge was the usual New Era bullshit you still had a great cast of characters which made it entertaining to watch regardless of the outcome.

I did like the 45 Pre merge and Lulu :) where as 46 pre-merge (apart from the legend Jelensky) was truly painful.

I think I just found the Reba 4 a bit blah

But yeah not the worst new era season. I do blame production for 41 and 43 not being well liked - you don't need to shove the winner in viewers faces but obscuring them so you barely even know who they are is insulting to both the winner and the viewer.

Great move by Andy, unfortunately the rest of the underdogs alliance will be out for blood, and with the vote steal, they still have the majority. Unless Andy wins immunity or finds an idol, I expect he's out next.

Depends - they may still want Genevieve out more. what a move though - Can't believe they pulled it off!

But that's the thing, everyone knows it's a game winning move. If they don't immediately make him the next target they deserve to lose.
This episode explains why Andy has had such a big edit ( that and he is just giving such amazing memes!)

I would like to see him be able to explain this move in Final Tribal but I have no idea how he makes it there.

I am sad that Andy did not make it to FTC but he came a long way from the first episode. What a ride! And same for Gen. She was invisible for the first three episodes and then went on to be one of the biggest threats.

Cannot see this being anyone other than a Rachel win from here unless she goes out in the firemaking challenge.

Same, if Rachel is there in the final it will be a landslide, the other 3 have done barely anything all season. I would even go as far to say we have 3 out of 4 Goats this time in the final 4.

I kind of want Sam in the final 3 just so I can hear what he is supposed to have done all season to have made him this big threat! He found a really easy to spot idol clue at the beginning of the game, that was only still there cos Andy had left it there. Andy, the guy who could not find any money in the auction, found that clue! Beyond that he worked with others but nothing of his own that I can think of. He seems like a nice enough guy but nothing is that stand out about his game to be the threat they have made him out to be.

That was a great last episode for Sam - he couldn't have done it any better. He was just up against someone who was already too far ahead of him.

Teeny's self awareness regarding how they had been with Sam showed such an authenticity, I could see why she is so magnetic and everyone loves her.

Sue's age revelation - bless her heart - She really was playing her own game out there. She set some records and for that she can be proud, but she was on a very different wavelength than everyone else out there.

Rachel to me came across similar to a couple of other new era players I have really liked - Frannie from 44 and Kellie from 45. She comes across to me as a triple threat and this is (Challenge beast, Strategic and Social) a it is well deserved win.

Well we all knew that if Rachel made it to FTC she would win it in a landslide, but Sam put up a great pitch, I actually thought he might have won a couple more votes (Andy didn't seem very impressed with Rachel). But it went as anyone who appreciates gameplay would expect - give the win to the only person to actually play.

Overall a great season, loved the blindsided in nearly every episode. Also loved the bat theme 💪🦇

unrelated but all Survivor seasons pre-S35 have been pulled from Paramount Plus
Oh wow, I wonder if this has any relation to what the S50 cast is going to look like. Which I guess does make sense. Luckily I still have access to my US account and they still have all 47 seasons on there.

10 play looks like it does have still from heroes vs villans - season 20 until 46. 47 will still be on channel 9 for a while and then will transfer to ten I presume based however thier strange deal is worked out.

Could you flick me details on how you set this up? Travelling at the moment and using VPN, was trying to set up a US account but was getting stuck at the PayPal stage.
