shut the front gate

Terri winning was rigged.

The housemates could evict someone on day one. They evicted her. BB didn't want her gone, so they gave her a task in the house to earn her place as a housemate again. I think it involved that party boy Corey. She failed the task. Big Brother let her become a house mate anyway.

On the final eviction night they said they would not show the faces, just the percentages. Terri wasn't winning. So they then showed the faces next to the percentages. With Ben winning. They said they wouldn't show the graph again. They were saying stuff like, 'If you want Nanna Terri to win, remember to vote!'

They then extended the voting period, running the show longer. Then they showed the graph again with Ben still winning. They then appealed to the audience to vote for Terri if they want her to win. Then once she was winning, they closed the voting lines and she won.

The Terri win was not rigged as in changing the votes. BB just kept making up ways to save her and even bring her back in after Australia evicted her. It was shamefully obvious.

It was rigged in that they manipulated the voting. They didn't put fake votes or anything. They kept changing the rules so she'd win. On the final night they kept changing what they were doing, how long the lines were opening, showing graphs so people voted. It is a form of rigging, it's manipulating the situation so she gets more votes. When she had lost fair and square.

Let's just hope that it isn't too rigged in 2014. Let's hope that it's more 'relaxed'.

This year was too rigged.

If anything 2014 will have more of the same in terms of producer manipulation, sadly I like you don't wish this to happen.

I hope they bring back vote to evict and vote to save next year. It was fun. :)

Surely voting to evict just helps eliminate characters in the house and helps the quiet characters who are not entertaining and not involved in storylines to stay in (flying under the radar). Voting to evict penalises the personalities that produce polarised opinions. It is these love 'em or hate 'em personalities that generate the most discussion and are most interesting. In my opinion, voting to save is a far better system and Big Brother is a much better show for it.

I'm currently sampling BB UK 2013 which runs an evict-only voting system and it reminds me how much better vote-to-save is. They are just eliminating the strong personalities in the house who have been involved in the biggest storylines. I'm giving up watching because of it.

This is true.

Also vote-to-save encourages fan bases, and fan bases pay the bills. If people feel loyal to a certain HM they will vote to save them every time they are up, and this is usually pretty frequent because big personalities are the most likely to be nominated - so you get these massive groups of loyal fans who are spending money every week to save their HM.

I cannot see them moving back to vote-to-evict for this reason.

Vote to evict is probably the worst thing that can happen to any BB season. Imagine if it was VTE this year. Matt and Caleb would have without a doubt made it to the final, and Tim would have been evicted the very first week. The 2005 season was entirely VTE including the final week, and look who won that.

While where on the rigged topic, I think who entered the safe/halfway house on launch night was rigged. I was just watching it and I noticed that the first 3 housemates entered into the hwh and then were called to the diary room where they explained the hwh concept, straight after that, ben was interviewed and entered into the safehouse, I also just went to the house a few days ago and I looked through the keyhole and it didn't even look like it was a working keyhole.

Sorry if that post made no sense

I wouldn't want to go back to a vote to evict only situation, but I think bringing it in with the vote to saves would be interesting. There are so many people that I know that gave up voting this year because they didn't think they had a shot against certain housemtes. If they were able to vote to evict their least favourite, it might have made them feel like they had a fighting chance :)

That doesn't matter at all, that just means their HM didn't play the game well enough.

There were similar rumblings the year the Logans won. BB were desperate to get the world-first 'twin win', so (allegedly) when the voting lines were meant to close & Tim Brunero was (allegedly) ahead, they extended the voting lines til the twins were ahead.
