Ryan has emerged as this year’s dark horse, from near invisibility in the first few weeks to leading man. He’s intelligent, confident and just the right amount of cheeky, and appears to value the experience over the prize money.

Weaknesses: Ryan’s been accused of coasting and admits he prefers to ride in the back seat. With several big personalities in the Final 8, Ryan will need to take the wheel and floor it if he wants to make it to finale.

Ryan looks hot, & smart, but has been a bit under-the-radar for a long time. Maybe now people will notice.

Under the radar? why do people keep saying this? Don't you remember the fight between him and Travis and also the fight between him and Skye. He also tried to cause conflict with his power play by separating the couples.

I think he would have had a much larger fan base if it weren't for those first couple of weeks. And am I the only person who finds Ryan's jokes funny? It's like everyone ignores his jokes and continues to call him "boring".

Definitely not alone!

I think people do find him funny on here, but they just cannot accept it and force him out (they don't seem to want to even like him) because they can't get over the fact he is actually a really decent guy.

He decides to back away from a topic, people call him arrogant
He decides to speak up and make arguments/stir the pot - people call him a douche
He's just one of those people that can't get a break


People find good looking/intelligent people extremely intimidating hence why Ryan is not everyone's favourite because many don't wan't to relate to him and accept this.

So they go and make him into this beast which he isn't, call him a jerk, call him arrogant.

We don't know him, but from what I have seen, I've seen a guy who is really honest and isn't there to steal the prize money by being fake, He's just being himself and trying to make the most out of it.

I haven't seen anything vindictive from Ryan but I have seen this from Skye, Priya and Lina (and even David..who I actually like) as well as evicted ex-HMs that were really spiteful.

With this said, Travis also doesn't have a mean bone in his body..he's just an idiot (and I don't like people who think that being stupid is cute)

I definitely do wish he'd been shown more first 3 weeks.

I definitely agree here! I've actually been back watching bits of the first few weeks and its just the invisible edit along with the fact he didn't get himself into dumb drama (David/Sandra, David/Lisa, anything got to do with Gemma). Plus I had forgotten he gave David advice about the Sandra thing and personally it was pretty good advice lol. I don't get why people are saying hes ever flown under the radar, he's just not determined to be the centre of attention.

He was invisible at the start. Apart from a few incidents he's Mr Nice Guy and nice guys finish last :(

I think he's getting a good fan base as the riffraff are eliminated.

Yeah I think so too, I see him as Mr Nice guy as well and we all know that wont take anyone far.

He's been raised with 3 sisters.
The guy is definitely super sensitive and considerate.
He loves them so much and is so protective of them, he definitely is not the arrogant douche people keep thinking he is.

It's psychology 101.
People just see a good looking guy and assume he's a massive tool.
