Ryan appreciation thread

hahaha at the Ryan supporters now posting 'positive' pictures of him to try and get support because he showed himself to be such a despicable arsehole.

I could post happy pictures of anyone. Doesn't mean that aren't pieces of human garbage.

Well I was having a bit of a laugh, but it was humorous that after this all these pictures are posted. I was also just listening to the Nerdist with Nick Frost saying how Simon Peg likes to send him pictures of people like hitler smiling.
 
I liked how Ryan championed the not being 'up' all the time when he argued with Skye. He also said he had 'gnarly depression' and that he was often misunderstood as arrogant as opposed to emotionally sensitive and reserved.

That takes real guts, especially for a bloke, to say that on national television.
I didn't like things about both skye and ryan and company in that argument but I did admire him for that.

If I lived in that house, it would frustrate me if people were always up- rise and shine for the cameras....It would be so... inauthentic and tiring
 
tonight we finally got to hear a bit of Ryan's story ... more than I have until now anyway ... and what a great Dad he has - a man who actually took the time each day to take him surfing - to spend time with him, get him active and BE THERE for him when he was in the grips of depression
but most of all I loved to see Ryan's appreciation & understanding of just how important what his Dad did for him was but also to see him caring about his Dad enough to realise what whilst his mum (who until now I wasn't aware that she has MS?) needs care so too does his Dad - and the realisation of how hard it must be on his Dad to see the woman he loves going through that and caring for her on a daily basis
people criticise Ryan for his unimpressed look ... but that just makes the times when he genuinely smiles or laughs even better
I would like to see Ryan get more air time talking about depression and his experiences getting through those times ... I think there'd be a lot of young people - AND parents - who could benefit from hearing it

less Travis and Aisha pashing on every surface of the house and a bit more real storyline and background of the housemates we're supposed to know well enough to vote for!
 
I've liked Ryan for a few weeks now.

I would be totally devastated if he doesn't get a chance to actually show more of himself.
I actually think there's so much more to him than there will ever be to people like Travis, Aisha, Lawson, Cat and Skye and it's so sad to see because he hasn't been pashing or cheating, he has been given hardly any chance to show who he is.

Not to mention, I think the producers of the show HATE him since they always try to make him appear like an ass hole when I think he's actually a really sweet guy (like how they edited that 'fight' with Travis)

I really hope he makes it through and I hope more people get to see how great he is so he can get far!

It'd be refreshing to see someone win who actually has gone through something deep and appreciates life and really want's to live every moment to the fullest.

I'm all Team Ryan and I hope he makes it to the final weeks :)
 
Yes I'm over two dimensional people- it's all the same- booze, laughs and pashing....

Ryan is intelligent, reflective, compassionate and understands pain because of what his life has presented him with. He's also funny without trying..

I hope him or Priya take it out- I don't mind watching skye but if she takes it out... I'll be pissed- she's so ordinary and ultimately, not interesting.

Dave is interesting- but I find him really angry and still haven't got over his sexist comments to Sandra and Lisa in the early weeks.

A person I know quite well is going through the same thing, watching his wife deteriorate day by day. It is extremely hard, on her physically, on him mentally. It does add another dimension to his story.

where your one-eyed dislike of Ryan lets you down:

1. you're in the wrong thread - this is an APPRECIATION thread - everyone is entitled to have their favs and non-favs - why not go hang out in the Sky appreciation thread and spread some love?

2. he was answering questions posed by his fellow HM's - he didn't raise the subject in other words AND he's mentioned his depression before in footage we've seen and given that we see about 1% of what goes on in the house his HM's know all about his family and obviously were interested to hear more. He wasn't selling a sob story - you don't hear ex HM's criticising him for dwelling on stories of this - what you DO hear from them is the lighter funnier (but unfortunately R-rated apparently) side of him and that he's such a nice guy
Since those people have actually spent real time in his company, have lived with him and STILL come out the other side of the experience with positive things to say about him .. well I'll listen to them rather than sarcasm from you

I'm somehow hoping someone decides to take the money tonight so neither Ryan or David have to leave (it's obviously out of them to go after Sandra). I like people that are just happy to say things as they are instead of coddling Skye like I feel others are because they're too scared to upset her fans. That's not helping her grow as a person at all. I'm not condoning Lawson's behaviour towards her (telling her to shut up whenever she speaks) but Ryan (and David) seem to be trying to be real with her which I appreciate.

The rest are all a huge joke- acting like clowns and creating drama to be cool.

Strategy and intelligence. Those 3 are the closest to Tim from last year who played with his head and deserved to win

I like skye. I like how she doesn't want to start a relationship in there but wants to leave the house to understand who she is and then maybe have a relationship. But I don't think she deserves to win as her over exaggerated behavior and acting like a 7 year old girl is totally irritating.

The rest of them are just jokes.
