Ratings Thread 2013

Australia's got Talent only got just over 1m for its first episode and wasn't even in the top 5 in the 16-39 demo and only scraped into the top 5 in other demos. That makes Big Brother look a bit better.

Hopefully Hamish & Andy acts as a good lead in to Big Brother tonight, AND I hope tonight's Eviction is an entertaining show to keep viewers coming back for the rest of the week!!!

theres alot worse "big" programs that get renewed year after year, and they do so much worse than BB
ie. masterchef (and anything on ten/abc/sbs for that matter), home and away, sunrise, please marry my boy, winners and losers, rafters, underbelly, big bang repeats etc
note these are from memory, i cbf checking actual numbers

so id say we're doing great!

Those are acceptable figures given the fact that it was on so late and the fact that a huge number of people would have tuned out once they knew who was evicted. I watched q and a instead because I'm couldn't care less about Sharon.

Its kinda sad, especially after last year, hope it holds up

I agree - not sure why some people on here would think that those ratings are "not bad". I think they are terrible! If the eviction and nom's can only get those numbers there's no hope for the other days!

Don't worry about the numbers, worry about the demos. We have to remember that with almost all of Australia now using digital TV, online catch up services and time shifted recordings the TV landscape has changed. Less and less shows are reaching the 'magic million' and the multi channels are increasing their viewership. The 'numbers' are for children and headlines. The advertisers and networks care about the demos. Back when BB could get one and a half million for a daily show was also the times where programs that's were "successful" needed to get over 3 million.

I think as long as it doesn't slip out of the top 5 in demos, its doing its job.

I don't think they're terrible, but I expected them to be better.

The worrying thing is that it's only been two weeks... the ratings are bound to decrease further.

Cool but I think it would be pretty hard for it to slip out of the top 5 demos when there's only a certain number of shows on at that time and only a certain amount of channels. Know what I mean?

its very POSSIBLE. There are many prime time shows who never rate in the the demos. BB stays in the demos because its doing its job.

Eviction night at 972k is great expecially not starting after 8pm, they would be happy with that.
Do you all go to bed really early or something in Aus - most countries wouldn't dream of starting their flagship shows before 8pm.
